The chicken Marsala was amazing the pizza (Melina’s meat lovers) was to die for and the roasted garlic spread for the bread OMG

5 stars because of Shorty. I love that guy! Always providing great service and concerned if we have everything okay. Hes great. Deserves a bonus. Thanks Shorty for making an already great experiance even greater! !!! (Talk to him. Hes great!)

Nancy’s has great pizza and should stick to that. The dinners there are barely average and the prices are ridiculous. When I saw the portion of Chicken Parm for what they charged me I got pissed. I don’t know what the new ownership think they are but they are wrong if they think they are a top Italian Restaurant. They are absolutely no Roberto’s, Angelo’s, or even Momma Maria’s but they think they can charge more for less. Well they’re loss because I know at least 6 of us that won’t be going back and from the number of people that were in there on a Saturday night they can not afford to lose ANY customers.

This place used to be great. Now, it’s just falling apart. The service is slow beyond words can describe. Oh, and when I came last time, there was water dripping from the ceiling creating a huge puddle on the floor. My family and I will not be returning. They need to step back and see what needs to change or this place is doomed. This restaurant will fail in the near future if this incompetence continues. Its a shame because the food is great, just wish I could say the same about the service/​experience.

My mom always said, «Don’t judge a book by its cover.» I wonder if, at some point in the future, anyone will know what a book is?! But I digress. The point is that you really need to go inside this restaurant to appreciate it. Don’t just drive by! The food is excellent and the décor appealing. I had the Chicken Melina and I would definitely order it again. The other members of the group ordered various pasta dishes, from lasagna to cheese ravioli. Everyone was pleased. I work in the area so I frequent this place often. My job orders massive amounts of pizza from here too especially when the weather is bad and they don’t want is leaving on our lunches or just because they’re feeling generous that day. Anywho, I’m not a fan of the pizza. It tastes good, but it’s really greasy. Every time it eat the pizza I get really sick. I honestly have no clue why I do it to myself.
The salads tho!!! Omg they are so freakin good. I think I’ve tried just about all of them.
Grilled salmon Cesar and the steak salad are my absolute favorites. I could honestly eat them
if they weren’t $ 10.

Food is good however their service is not. I have been going there for 11 years and ever since ownership has changed the way they treat their customers has been awful. They have screwed up their deliveries more than a few times and their attitude is simply not very apologetic. Also i forgot one coupon for $ 5 off an appetizer after having ordered from them more than 50 times and their manager wouldn’t make one exception and honor it. …they can see in their computer system how much business I have given them. There are many other local places just as good that treat their customers much better

I really liked this place. We just moved and we were looking for a new Italian restaurant. The wine list is pretty good. We had the pan pizza and it was decent. Not burnt, tasty tomato sauce and crispy crust. For an Italian restaurant the prices were very reasonable. The atmosphere was quite but we did come later at night and on a holiday weekend. But who wants to be around lots of noise when your in a nice setting and can actually hear each other talk.

So glad to have fallen upon this place by a friend with a
certificate that hadn’t seen the copier in quite awhile. I don’t recall ever being in this part of Elmhurst. Started off with a margarita pizza appetizer. Just amazing with lots of fresh tomato and basil. The side salad was anything but an aside. With a mix of greens and lots of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, parmesan, croutons and a tasty house Italian — we were quickly stuffed to the brim. Forced ourselves to taste our entrees — eggplant parmesan for me; meat ravioli for my friend. Everything tasted so obviously homemade, which is a nice change from the canned taste of the Italian chains. While a fresh update to the location wouldn’t be a bad idea, there’s really nothing but overall accolades for this place.

I’ve only had pick up & delivery from here. Always on time & super tasty. Once they forgot an app but credited me & even delivered a fresh one. Love their thin crust pizza, soup specials & cheesecake, always order the cheesecake!

Awesome awesome awesome. Everyone needs to try this place out. I have had hundreds of pizzas in my life. Never have I had a better stuffed pizza. Friendly staff, great food. Just great.

Went here for a family Christmas party. They were promptly on us to offer us drinks. I don’t think my soda made it to half way gone before they refilled it. Very impressive.
The foot was fantastic– pizza appetizers, pasta, chicken Parmesan, cream of chicken soup, fresh salad and bread. Homemade cannoli topped it all off. I felt like I needed to be rolled out of there. Simply great Italian food. Will go back.

The food was ok, the music was ANNOYING. Why does an Italian restaurant play loud, annoying Mexican music? Not my pick to go here and not my pick to ever go back.

The fried smelt was fantastic and the linguine dish was very good too but having a bunch of loud dumbass people seated next to me really sucked (the restaurant was virtually empty)! I will probably try it one more time but if they crowd everyone together that will be the last time.

We come here at least once every three months for the Nancy’s Pizza.
Service is usually decent. Sometimes there’s entertainment. A singer, a magician, a guy who does audience participation stuff. It’s always a good time.
The menu is a little stale, but the food is usually pretty good. I can’t complain. This past weekend if you got two entrees you got a free appetizer-​yum.
The Nancy’s pizza is always excellent. The bathrooms are clean, the company is good… It’s never my first choice– but I do keep coming back.

Haven’t been here in a few years but I will return since my food and service was very good. Heather was our server tonight and didn’t have any problems. I didn’t read the Unilocal reviews until after the meal– sorry they had a bad experience but the four of us said we really enjoyed our meals and will come again. The eggplant parmigiana with the spaghetti /​meat sauce was delicious. The prices were very reasonable too. Enjoy!

They have a new female bartender that works on Wednesdays & Thursdays. I was there with a small party and the bartender treated myself and a friend like crap. Rolling her eyes when we asked for more ice in a drink!!! I go out and spend money to enjoy myself, NOT to get an attitude. She started with a smile and then its like a different person came back. Very disingenuous person. Either way Im not returning even though the food was good.

Let me just preface this by saying that I LOVE Nancy’s Pizza, the pizzeria associated with this restaurant.
Now then.
Melina’s wasn’t really anything special, although it seems like one of those niche-​y places I’m usually drawn to. The atmosphere is pretty typical of most medium-​to-​medium-​high priced Italian restaurants, although I do love the fireplace that’s set against one of the walls. The wait staff, I found, was very friendly. Our bus boy was extremely attentive (as in, he refilled my water glass after every sip). As for the food, well, I thought it was mediocre. I ordered the cheese ravioli with marinara sauce, and I’ve certainly had better. Overall, it wasn’t at all a bad experience, but I’m just not enchanted. I’ll stick with the pizza from here on out.
