Elmhurst Memorial Center For Cancer Care

Well, as much as one can be a «fan» of a cancer center… My mom was one of the first patients after they opened the new cancer center. She just finished her second round of chemo. I am not fond of her oncologist, but all the nurses have been very nice. She has a private room with a tv for chemo, and they give us 2 extra chairs in the room for my dad and I to both sit with her. There’s a wig boutique run by appointment with volunteers from the American Cancer Society, as well as a small resource center. Most areas of the cancer center have slip resistant floors, and there are wheelchairs available at the main entrance for patients who are feeling to weak to walk.
It is a short walk through an indoor hall to get to the main hospital with the cafeteria, Starbucks, 2 gift shops, and a large resource center.
