first time visitor, amazing service, the guy was so nice and helpful. the food was good. I ordered a burrito and it was a decent size but it was packed with meat,(I prefer less but that’s okay). I don’t really like the location but overall, I loved it

A go to option for steak burritos in Elmhurst. Extremely fast service with quality food for the price. Don’t go to El Famous for a sit down experience. This is a takeout experience that satisfies any Mexican food craving.

It’s now Taco Tuesdays and Thursdays, but they’re now $ 1.40 each. Only the original taco’s though: beef, steak, pork and chicken. Had the pork and steak taco’s. They were good. Kind of what you would expect from a chain.

If you’re a taco freak like me, this place will fulfill the crave. Pretty much your average Mexican food joint. Quick as well.

Lady at counter is always looking mad and mean. Ordered a chicken torts with cheese only and of course no cheese on torts. How hard can that be. Also as I was waiting for my food a guy went to get his order and there was no sour cream on his order asked for it and the guy behind counter gave him some. Then he went back up to ask for hot sauce and the same mean lady with the glasses gave him attitude and said did U pay for the sour cream and the dude ignored her and she pointed to end of counter and said sauce is over there again very rude wanted to take 25 cents from my pocket just to shut her up. Like other reviews very bad Cust service. Been coming here for many years and may not go again. If she is the owner stay away from Cust and go hide in the fridge if not owner somebody needs to teach her Cust service.

Just what you’d expect from EL Famous Burritos. Ground beef burrito packed with meat and ingredients. Bought 2 togo and 15 minutes back to work and still hot. Great tasting hot sauces also.

This EFB has a very unique charm and persona. The guest service is not very good but something about the quickness and efficiency makes it worth while… especially on $ 1.00 taco Tuesdays and Thursdays. They secretly have really good nachos and their green sauce is a large attraction. It is what it is and they need to continue the taco specials because that is their fly trap getting this customer to come back.

CUSTOMERSERVICE, CUSTOMERSERVICE, CUSTOMERSERVICE! This is what they lack at this particular location. I’ve been here 4 times and every time I’ve dined in, I’ve never left a happy customer. From the moment I walk in to the time I leave, they never fail to disappoint. You walk in to stares and frowns from the miserable looking employees and if that’s not bad enough, if it’s anywhere near closing time, they WILL turn off some of the lights and tv to make sure your stay is short. They have no regard for their customers. The tacos are decent at best but I cannot get past how rude and unprofessional these people are. If you can’t treat customers the right way, you have no business operating this type of establishment. I don’t care if your tacos were $.50, I’ll never waste my time or gas eating at this location again, ever, based on customer service alone. There are far too many other Mexican restaurants than to bother with one such as this.

My favorite place to eat Mexican. The quality of food is amazing. The portions are huge. I never miss an opportunity to eat here.

On Tuesdays tacos are only $ 1.25. That’s a hard deal to beat. With a small horchata, my lunch was under $ 5.00. The tacos were decent. They may have been a little better than the ones I had at Los Fernandez on North Ave., but not by much. The restaurant was clean and busy. Not a bad place to get some Mexican food. As of this writing there are ninety-six restaurants in Elmhurst. I plan on eating at, and reviewing, every one. Follow me on Unilocal

It’s biggest draw is the price. It’s not the best, it’s not the worst and their prices are slightly higher than a Taco Bell would be. I’d reccommend coming here if you are hungry and looking for a quick bit to eat. This isn’t a fancy place by any means. Staff is friendly, although sometimes they can be a little slow when there are a lot of people trying to order, which is understandable. Try it. I can’t imagine anyone hating it. It’s a pretty standard Mexican food joint.

This place is near my job and I tend to stop in at least once a month. I really really love thw chile rellabo taco! Its literally the best I’ve ever had. Its super greasy, has great flavor, rice, beans, lettuce, and tomato. Its like a mini burrito, but in taco form. I also will usually get a steak taco or two as well. For the price and being 2 blocks from my job its a winner in my book.

I love El Famous. I’ve probably been to 5 or 6 of them. This one is hard to review. The food and portions are good. 2nd only to the Wheeling location. The staff however is so unfriendly I hesitate to come here. It’s a little run down inside, and rarely are all the tables clean. But in the end… The crack that is El famous tacos overwhelms the other concerns. GIMMETACOS!

Two words… Horse shit. Thank you guys for making a burrito that had old, burnt crunchy meat in it that was sooooooo salty it probably could have been left out for days and not rotted because the salt was preserving it! Also I really appreciate the red and green sauce that was really similar to watered down tomato mush. OH! And the utensils were AMAZING! Tiny little freaking plastic fork & knife that bent with the least amount of pressure. Good thing it wasnt over 80 degrees in there because the god damn things would have been so soft it would be like using two pasta noodles to try cutting the thing up! I ate half and got the hell out of there. Oh! Almost forgot! The ceiling with those dark patches and dust n’ stuff really were quite elegant. Truly enhanced the whole dining experience!

Chicken burrito made me SICK. literally had the runs for hours on end. Spoke to a friend a month later that had the same experience, except they had the pleasure of vomiting… unlike myself. Very suspect… won’t go there again.

Stopped in here on a Tuesday after my niece’s graduation. We hadn’t eaten dinner, it was late and we were passing by on the way home. And — tacos are only $ 1.25 each on Tuesdays! SCORE!!! I had a steak taco and a chicken taco. They were so good, I wanted to order about a dozen more to take home. Super good. Sad that we don’t live in the area, but it might be worth the 45 minute to an hour drive to get some.

Chicken Taco Dinner = Delicious. The chicken is tender and flavorful. For $ 7-$ 8 you get 3 large tacos, rice, beans, and as many peppers as you want. This beats Chipotle ANYDAY. My bf always gets the burrito and we sit in silence(we literally don’t talk) for 15 minutes stuffing our face and then feeling accomplished. The décor is a little depressing, but you’re there for the food! So ignore the tiny TV in the corner and enjoy the delicious food. They’re open late too, until 11 pm on weekdays, perfect for a late dinner.

I have always drove past El Famous Burrito, and never thought to stop … and for some stupid reason, I would always choose Taco Bell. After doing a quick search through Unilocal,I had stumbled on El Famous Burrito, and thought I would give it a shot for lunch. Entering the establishment, I couldn’t help but notice the extremely unique and interesting décor. I have to say, it is one of the most interesting places I have ever been in. A lot of colors surround the small, cute little dining area. The menu boards are all over the walls, so it’s easy to pick something out quick. Everything is authentic Mexican, down to the lovely people working. The lady at the counter was very nice and patient with me. I decided to get a ground beef taco salad and a steak taco. They don’t believe in plates or containers for take out! My taco salad was wrapped in foil and put in a bag. Upon opening my salad, I noticed there was A LOT of meat. And I mean a lot. 90% of the salad was beef and what I believe is refried beans. It wasn’t bad, but I definitely would have liked some more salad with my taco SALAD. Don’t get me wrong the whole 5 peices of lettuce were great, but it was a little too much for me. The shell was crispy and delectable. I also had to add sour cream to mine, because I didn’t get any topping dressing other than hot sauce. The steak taco on the other hand was unbelievably amazing. Lots of steak strips loaded with lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes on a homemade tortilla shell. It doesn’t come with any sour cream, but it doesn’t need it. The taste is indescribable, and at the price, it’s way worth it! I am definitely going to be back at El Famous Burrito, but I am staying away from salads and sticking to steak. If you want authentic Mexican food, I highly suggest this place!

I live maybeeee five minutes from here and I like the fact that you don’t have to wait long after you just place your order to get it. The prices are fair just like any other Mexican Restaurant, BUT they have $ 1 taco special on Tuesday and Thursday! One of the reasons I continue to come back! Being a recent grad student without a stable job you bet I’m on a budget so $ 1 for tacos that will fill me up makes my bank account happy. Overall, their quality of food is decent. There are moments it’s really good and fresh and moments it’s a bit rough. I do reccommend their tamales though! Extremely soft and warm!
