Go for the spa on the same floor. Skip the food. Dried out fish. Wait staff that plays on their phones instead of cleaning or sweeping. Maui Maui tasted like it was caught a century ago. Fries were good.

My husband and I went to Alexandra’s for Howard County Restaurant Weeks for lunch yesterday. Only one server was working when we arrived at 1pm, so service was slow. My Maryland Crab soup was had wayyyyy too much pepper. The salmon entrée was good, but then the lava cake dessert left a LOT to be desired. And it obviously sat for some time before being delivered, as most of the ice cream was melted. My husband had the Waygu burger, which he said was terrible tasting, even though it was cooked to his liking. The best part of his meal was the french fries. The cannoli was the worst we had ever tried. He did enjoy the Caesar salad with fresh sliced cheese. I haven’t been to Alexandra’s in years, and not in a hurry to return. It’s a shame, as they are right down the street, and my in-laws would love to dine on the golf course.

Recently had my baby shower at Alexandra’s and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful venue that’s affordable. We booked he Christina Room overlooking the golf course. We took advantage of the champagne brunch buffet for our meal. Our service was excellent. Drink orders were consistently refilled and plates were cleared. They even let us bring in or own cupcakes. The room was set up exactly as we asked and working with management was great. I received a ton of compliments on the location and shower and hope others can enjoy it too.

Sunday brunch, all the food was cold. Food was bland and the selection was not so good. Of course the omelette station the eggs where hot. Very disappointed for 25.00 a plate.

Went for breakfast. The website shows they have a breakfast menu but on this day it was buffet on nothing. Nothing would have been preferable. Eggs? Some burned spots and barely warm. Potatoes? Not as warm as the eggs? Toast? «We don’t serve toast, we usually have mini bagels, would you like me to bring some out?» Bacon? Sausage? Serving tray for both was completely empty. «We’ll have some out in 5 minutes» Omelets? Don’t have them? Waffles? Don’t have them. Inexpensive, given the ineptness and lousy food? Nope. Just under $ 60 for the 4 of us. As we left my daughter said, «It’s safe to say I’ve had a better breakfast at a Holiday Inn… in Mississippi.» That was the highlight of the experience. At least we had a laugh.

Pretty tasty but very pricy. Me and my coworker got burgers that were good but kind of charcoal tasting.

Only had breakfast here once. Buffet only. Limited offerings(didn’t see anything«fusion» about the food!) For a buffet-only breakfast, I expected service to be better than it was. We joined a table where our family was already eating and it took awhile before the server noticed we needed drinks. Then, we had to repeatedly ask for coffee refills. Server did not seem happy at all, perhaps because they were short-staffed? Only 2 servers on a Saturday when the resort was supposedly booked with guests? Poor management. There is a small shopping mall less than a mile away with a few restaurants. I highly recommend going to the mall for brunch instead of to Alexandra’s.

Went there for brunch. Lots of people reviewed the décor. I agree it is out of date and could use an overhaul. The food was good. Some reviews say it’s not worth the price. I typically get my money’s worth when it comes to buffets. Bloodiest are bottomless. With that in mind, the carving station of rare roast beef, the smoked salmon plate, fresh fruit platter, and omelet station were visited often enough for me to feel comfortable about paying the check. If i had gone to the diner up the road, my bill would have been more and the atmosphere would have been less. The server we had was attentive. He kept the drinks coming and removed plates promptly.

This restaurant should have been a great place for brunch, and from the other reviews they have a good happy hour so i had high hopes. This restaurant is located in the turf valley golf club so the views from all angles were scenic. You walk into the lobby and can directly look over the railing into the dining room below. That was a nice touch. Going down the steps there was a man who abruptly stopped us to ask if we were lost. Odd question sir but no I know where im going. Downstairs the hostess sat us at a great table(see picture) that sas nice to look at during the meal. The décor was fine nothing jumped out to say the furnishings were chosen with a specific theme in mind. Id imagine the tables and chairs have been there and will continue to be there. Onto the food, this was a brunch buffet but no waffle or pancakes but they did have french toast even though it was tough to cut through and pretty basic flavor wise. There is also an omlette station however the person manning said station couldnt make a decent omelette, the cheese wasnt melted and some of those fresh ingredients looks closer to day old. The breakfast potatoes were dry and hard. The pasta was tasteless. Only sort of bright spot was the carving station even though there was only one meat option. For desert they had chocolate cake, a cheesecake, some pastries and ice cream. The ice cream was melted on top i dont think they thought the presentation though, ice cream cant be kept out for hours without it melting no one wants to eat that. The cake i had was dry that couldnt be in house so whoever they are bulk ordering cake from needs to be considered. This brunch also included mimosas and/or bloody Marys. I am a fan of unlimited drinks with my meal buuutttt i only had my initial drink and 1 refill, our waitress asked me if i would like another clearly after we were done with the meal. Our waitress was perfectly pleasant but she wasnt really around that often, hence the lack of drink refills. There just seemed to be a lack of awareness and the dining room isnt that big nor was it that crowded so i dont know where she got off too. It took us over 15 minutes from the time she took our plates away to even come back and ask if we were done. Not come back with a check but just to ask if we wanted it. And also the check was odd to me. The first copy of the check she presented had the signature line and tip and total line. You filled that out and they just ran your card for everything and you were done is that a new thing? And is the new thing also to have the lowest suggested tip amount listed to be 18%? This place i wanted to love since its so close but i think i will go back to my regular haunts. The views here cant make up for the bland food and blasé service

Went to Alexander’s Friday night for happy hour. Staff at bar was very helpful and efficient. Sliders and onion soup were good, but not great. Worth the happy hour price. Based on service I would give them 5 stars, but food quality makes them just average.

Nice restaurant located in Turf Valley. Had breakfast, great views and food. The breakfast sandwich on Texas toast was the best item on the menu! Friendly staff and nice enviroment would love to try lunch or dinner here.

I went to Alexandra’s for lunch with a colleague while attending a professional meeting at the resort. The food was fine — we both had a very tasty squash soup and roasted beet salad(the beets were excellent!) but what was superb was the service we received! It is rare to have a server(Matt) who is so attuned to what one needs while not hovering or being intrusive. I was so appreciative that I wrote to the manager to commend this young man’s work.

It’s a beautiful hotel. The location is so pleasing. You will love the infrastructure and interior of Alexandra’s. But, the food is not that great. We went here for breakfast on a saturday morning and there were hardly 5 people dining. We had French Toast and 3-egg omlette(no meat). The omlette tasted fine. I had it with lots of hot sauce though. But, the french toast is so soggy. So much butter, my plate is actually wet from all the butter. And it is tasteless. They didn’t even care for giving a spoon or stirrer with coffee. But, the waitress was attentive enough to come and check up on you often. Their front desk staff can learn to smile and greet people instead of saying«Hello» and giving them a stare down. Overall, not worth it !!!

We went with a group of friends for brunch. If you have a large group it may be neccessary to reserve a table as this place is small. The highlights are the carved beef, steamed shrimp, and ommelette station. The other offerings were mediocre. They do have unlimited mimosas and bloody marys. The service seemd to be a bit slow at times and occasionally the carver was absent from his station. Despite this the staff is friendly.

It’s really a tragedy this place doesn’t have their shit together. The potential is there, but they fall short in every category from ambiance to service to food. When I saw the Unilocal reviews, I really didn’t believe it could be THAT bad. Unfortunately, the negative ratings are pretty spot on and I don’t see myself returning anytime soon(if at all) for dinner. The only reason I will be back for brunch is the location and there isn’t much competition in the brunch department in the area. Anyway, here’s what our dinner experience was like… our server was young and seemed either shy or unfriendly, I couldn’t tell. Either way, she checked on us minimally and was unhelpful. I saw a drink on the cocktail menu that had«hot apple cider» listed as an ingredient. I wasn’t drinking that evening so I asked for a cup of «hot apple cider» minus the booze. She looked confused, then said, «umm, I’m not sure we can do that.» She then brought my husband’s dirty martini that he had clearly requested to be «on the rocks» straight up and when he pointed this mistake out, she just said, «oh sorry,» instead of offering to replace his drink. Sure enough, they were able to give me a glass of warm cider minus the booze once she checked with the bartender and the rest of our experience with her was similar. She wasn’t rude, just lacking, ummm, brain cells maybe? Then there was the food. Not terrible, just certainly NOT a 30 $ steak. My husband’s steak came out at a temperature not even hot enough to melt the butter on top of it, my shrimp was also just above room temp and bland. I’d probably give this place 3 stars if the prices were lower. The prices simply don’t match the quality. The only truly great thing about Alexandra’s is the bottomless Bloody Marys and Mimosas that come with Sunday brunch

My good girlfriends and I had brunch here Sunday November 2. We had a 1:00 reservation for brunch. The omelet swerve amazing all the food was fresh and yummy. My only complaint was that the French toasted looked saggy so I did not try it bacon was nice and crisp. The staff was very nice and friendly I recommend this brunch. I wanted salsa for my omelet and I asked the guy making the omelet instead of the wait staff. I really enjoyed this outing and recommend it to one and all

food was better than expected… live music on friday’s fort he summer outside with some complimentary hors d’oeuvres…crowd was a bit more mature but I do believe that there was a conference going on. Happy hour drinks were a bit strong… but will definitely return for the live music… scenery provides view of the lovely grounds which were amazing.

When you first walk into the hotel/restaurant, you think it looks pretty fancy and a nice place. The hostess was very friendly and helpful, so that was good, too. But as soon as we sat down, the experience got worse. Our waitress was awful: she had a bad attitude, was impatient, and very slow with getting our food to us as well as taking our plates away when we were finished. And the food was terrible! I ordered a flatbread pizza, which essentially was a raw pita-bread like substance covered with spinach that tasted half-rotten and cheese that did not look like real cheese(like American Kraft slices). I could have made something like that for myself in the microwave! I just was glad that I got it at the happy hour price; it wasn’t worth that, let alone the full price I would have normally had to pay. NEVER again.

I’ve been here several times over the last few months, and the dinner options are always good. In particular, I had a great seafood appetizer(giant steamed shrimp, lump crab meat, lobster in an oversized martini glass) and I’ve had excellent rockfish and steak there as well. They change their menu frequently so there’s always something new to try, and there’s hardly ever a wait. So why 3 stars? It’s in a hotel, and it feels like it’s in a hotel. Their breakfast menu is barely passable, their décor is dated… we made reservations for Fathers Day brunch and it was a very weird menu– it was mostly breakfast items(great caramel bread pudding but bulk-bought pastries and bagels and sub-standard fruit tray), and then random dinner items that didn’t seem to go together(seafood pasta, prime rib, chicken fingers, some sorry-looking steamed vegetables)… I was expecting higher-quality options and a more well-rounded menu… especially at $ 40 per person. So, I’ll continue to recommend visitors stay at the hotel, and I’ll continue to treat visitors to dinner at this restaurant. But I won’t venture here again for breakfast or any special occasions.
