We had two rolls, tempura shrimp and chicken teriyaki. These are sort of standbys. We ate nothing but the rice. I don’t like being harsh, but the take out we had was awful. In Elko, go with lamb or beef.

Probably one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. I should have known better than to eat Asian food in the middle of nowhere Nevada. The only edible things were the things that they didn’t actually make — like edamame and the ice cream mochi, which ironically were free. The edamame wasn’t even very good, seemingly still too hard(not fully boiled). The sushi was probably one of the better things among the horrible options. The Ruby Mountain Roll was okay because the shrimp inside was deep fried to cover the lack of freshness, but the rice was hard and tasted like the kind that has been refrigerated. Not good at all. The deluxe rainbow roll was no good either, the asparagus tasted weird and the tuna did not taste fresh. This roll was pretty tasteless. The pad thai was horrible, covered in this goopy sauce, the veggies tasted a bit sour, and the shrimp was rubbery and not fresh at all. I didn’t eat more than a few bites. Worst dish among a group of bad dishes. The general tso’s was too salty and dry. Also horrible. I’m not sure how people can stand the food here. Go anywhere else.

Well the experience my wife and I had at this place wasn’t the best. The egg flower soup tasted and smelled funny, although the tempura shrimp was ok and the pad thai was mediocre. The service was terrible… the waitress wasn’t attentive at all and forgot more than half of our order. Also the restrooms were not in the best shape, the floors were sticky, dirty and it smelled like urine. Honestly seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. We will never spend our money there again.

BAD experience. Stay away. Hair on plate! The yellowtail was a «grey» color, waitress barely spoke english. They refused to take off anything from the bill for the hair! Should have listened to hotel staff and gone the other way.

Repeat after me… Go. Somewhere. Else. This place was weird… Everything from walking into the restaurant to the service was strange. As I walked in the building it was not inviting at all… The waitress escorted me through the fish-scented entry room and into an empty dining room… I was seated w no menu… As I looked at the sushi bar only one side of the sushi bar had fish in it… I never got a menu so I just went w the phở… Yes they serve phở… I wanted to walk out prior to ordering but I stayed bc I knew I was Gona Unilocal the shit out of this place! My phở came… So did the wilted vegetables… Nastaaaay! The meat tasted weird and at the time of this writing my stomach feels fine… I ordered a house salad which was basically iceberg lettuce w some generic basic-ass ranch dressing… I didn’t eat it to completion because it was disgusting. My momma always said, «if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all!» Well momma, this is Unilocal… This restaurant sucked! And my favorite fellow Unilocalers Zach and Devin weren’t invited… They were at the hotel doing their thing.

Food is good but, Bad service! And she is expecting a tip that she’s not going to get.

Thanks to my fellow Unilocalers… I was looking for good reviews for food near my hotel, and this place came up. It was a short walk, and totally worth it. From the outside, it doesn’t seem like much, and the inside isn’t any fancier. But, this is a place you go to for the food. The service is quick and polite too. But the food? It is great! I ordered my go to spicy salmon. I was surprised that it had a little more mayo in it than I am used to eating spicy salmon with. The cucumber was interesting, not bad, just not expected. This is the only reason I wouldn’t give it a 5 star review. The Tuna Lover was amazing. Excellent presentation, good heat with the spicy tuna, not too much mayo… overall, fantastic.

Service was pretty bad and the food was even worse. Had to ask the waitress multiple times for things and she would deliver things to the wrong people.

First off, to those people saying the price is higher than this place or that. Remember, seafood is more expensive the further away from the water you get… You’re in Elko, your sushi expectations may not be high… I’m telling you this place is better than you expect. All you can eat is the only way to go here. Lots of variety, everything I’ve tried was very good. I will be back here again next time I’m stuck here overnight.

Traveling through town and made the unfortunate decision to stop here. The sushi was by far the worst I have ever had. The presentation was subpar, the taste was abhorrent and the service was awful. We ordered 5 rolls, 4 of which we didn’t even touch, after seeing this the server did not ask about anything. Which was apparent. Obviously she is aware of the quality. Absolute yuck.

I really enjoyed the sushi, the fish tastes really good and the rolls are super, but the price. That should be brought down to $ 20. Then I would go there and feel like it was getting a better deal. I would give the food really high rating four stars. The service is friendly and the preparation is fast and very nice, but I just can’t get over that price. I have zero problems with the excellent sushi though, and I visit blue moon often. I definitely recommend Blue Moon to anyone visiting Elko. Very satisfying, total food coma kind of place. The better price and I would have given it four stars.

I can’t believe that this place has an average rating of 4 stars. The dinner price of $ 29.99 for all you can eat sushi is absurd. This is Elko, not New York City. I can get much better sushi for less $$$ in Reno. The menu was average with nothing special about the sushi offered. The fish was average in taste, nothing bad but nothing to make me want to come back. I stopped here for an early dinner with my wife on a Wednesday. Only three tables were occupied. The staff was friendly and attentive which is the only plus I would give them. The atmosphere was dismal and did not look like anything an Asian restaurant would look like. I know this is an old building and has had many different restaurants in it over the years but come on… at least make me feel like I am in an Asian restaurant instead of a Carl’s Jr. Our table cloth had a stain on it, the entire restaurant felt dirty, and one of our soy sauce dishes was dirty. I would not go back.

4.5 stars. I went with a group of friends and the service was excellent. My friends and I enjoyed the food. The chicken I got was great. My friends enjoyed the sushi. The only 2 things would be there were 2 little green bugs that we found on the tables and one of my friend’s food came 7 minutes after everyone else’s food. The waitress was funny and a great host.

Worst experience ever. Slow service, cold food and warm sushi. Been here for 2 hours and finally just asked for the check before our food was finished coming out because we were so tired of it. There was a bug crawling all over my sisters plate of food when it came out and the cook was smoking in the back. Disgusting!

1430 Idaho St, Elko, NV89801, U.S.A. +1−775−777−8788

My train of thought: First impression: Well… This seems kind of suspicious… Doesn’t look like the cleanest place on earth… But then again, it if I’m the middle of nowhere… The waitress barely speaks English… but I can deal with that. He comes the egg drop soup… I’m preparing for the worst… And it’s not that bad! I’m relieved — for now. And here it comes! The main entrée. My expectations are a bit higher now, I hope I won’t be disappointed… And I’m not!(To some degree.) The salmon teriyaki is great for the first few bites, but the flavor isn’t special enough to keep me interested through the rest of the dish. The rice is soft, I guess. Next I try the pad Thai my mom didn’t finish, and I’m also pleasantly surprised. The curry my father ordered is also awesome. I’m starting to like this place… And now for my free mochi. I’m expecting something good. And I like it! Well, the strawberry one, at least. Final conclusion: if your traveling in the middle of nowhere, and your looking for something to eat, stop by here. The looks may hold you back, and indeed I took off a star for that, but hold on, and the food will satisfy you. I hope.(Although this place needs a relocation or a heavy remodeling. They would get more customers that way.) But this is a road town. PS: I wouldn’t trust the meat or chicken here. Stay on the safe side with fish or tofu. Added bonus: cheap prices for great value. If you happen to come to Elko, stop by here!

Beautiful and delicious sushi; a real gem in this area. What a nice place to dine – great service too! Loved the steak & shrimp teriyaki. Try the Ruby Mountain roll – it filled the two of us up so we had to box much of the entrée. Dessert mochi capped a delightful meal!

Asian let alone sushi in the middle of NV? We were skeptical at best but an hour later we left quite happy with our detour off I-80. Had the Ruby Mountain roll which was great. The menu should have included at least one spicy option roll wise but everything was fresh and tasty. The shrimp /veggie tempura was another highlight with it’s pile-o-goodness and a unique light sweet chili sauce on the side. There was edamame on the table almost like chips at a Mexican food joint… A welcome addition. Definitely worth the stop and a far better option than the gas station subways that litter the sides of I-80.

Stopped in on an unexpected stay in Elko. I started with a hot and spicy soup, it came out fast and was pretty tasty. I ordered a Japanese beer which hit the spot. I ordered a safe sushi roll(spicy crab), it was ok. Not bad, not good but better than fast food. Just found this review in my drafts From Mar 2013. I just revisited this place in Nov 14. Sushi rolls were again decent. The entrees however were inedible. The worst quality chicken(if it was chicken) I have ever had. My wife had the red curry and I had the general Tsos chicken we couldn’t eat either one. Won’t ever eat here again.
