This was our first visit. We were greeted warmly and instantly felt as if we had stepped inside a small town hidden gem. We started with the loaded potato soup with prime rib. The flavor was wonderful, but the temperature of the soup was barely luke warm. … We mentioned it to our waitress when she checked on us and she said ‘thanks for telling me, I’ll watch out for that’…not sorry, let me get you fresh hot soup, or let me take that off the bill… that was disappointing. We both ordered the prime rib dinner… the meat was cooked perfectly to our request, the sides were«ok», but again the food was luke warm. I believe a plate warmer would be a good investment for them. The most annoying thing though was when the bill came, I had ordered templeton rye on the rocks(i had 2). On the bill I was charged $ 12 for the rye(I’m ok with that), but I was also charged $ 5 for the ice in my 2 drinks. Seriously? I know the bar is where the margins are made. .but that is ridiculous! I don’t get charged for the ice in my drink at some of the finest restaurants in Omaha. .not sure if I’ll be back. If I am I’ll order my rye straight up.

Food was nothing special. My chicken club’s bun was so toasted, it was like a rock. Chicken tenders were basically breading. On top of that, our waitress was rude and crabby. Would not come back here ever.

On a Thursday evening. Full of patrons. It was prime rib night. Had wings, reuben, and chicken club sandwich. Wings were very good. Prepared buffalo style then grilled. Some call it char-buffed in this area. These were steaming hot at the table. Average spiciness. It’s an order of 10 and they are all prepared this way. I like the fact that they know how to prepare wings and they’re not pretentious about it by offering a zillion different flavors and styles. Fries with the sandwiches were outstanding. Just regular steak fries but they’re being left in the fryer a minute or two longer than most so they’re piping hot, slightly browned and full of deep fried deliciousness. Chicken club was fresh and perfectly prepared. Reuben left a little to be desired. Plentiful meat on the sandwich but the rye bread was extremely mild — almost like a sour dough rye and there wasn’t enough kraut on it. You gotta have some kraut to give the reuben that distinctive bite that awakens your taste buds. This was blah. Plenty of meat though, plenty of sauce and plenty of cheese. Although I prefer a medium or sharp swiss, I think Shevy’s is using a baby swiss. Service was outstanding during a very busy evening. The place is a dive but that lends to it’s charm. This is a great bar-food place that won’t break the bank and you can walk in with flip flops, shorts, and a t-shirt or you can stroll in with your business attire on. Leave your ego at the door, let your hair down and enjoy some good ol’ fashioned grill-style bar food.

Being new to Elkhorn, my husband and I decided to give Shevy’s a shot. The service was decent(slow for how few customers were there) and the food was poor/decent and overpriced. Although we live just a couple minutes a way, we will not be returning which is a bummer because we like downtown Elkhorn.

I have been here about 5 times in the past year, love the service, family run place, Great kitchen, special salt«hot rock» to cook your beef is unique and awesome, wings are also great, phenomenal drink specials. It’s kind of Divey, but the food and ownership is great. Going back this week for more.

Took a chance on this place set based on the ratings. Order the French dip and was completely disappointed it came out like a grilled cheese sandwich with really bad meat on it. My wife ordered the chicken strips and asked for honey mustard, they didn’t have any honey mustard so they brought her regular mustard right to tell us it was honey mustard. Pass on this dive!

Went here for lunch and it was great! Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Best Burger on the West end of town! Definitely worth the stop! What more do you want? What more can I say?

My family and I went here for the Superbowl since we were told it was a predominantly Denver Broncos bar. Wanted to leave about 5 minutes into the 1st quarter not because Denver wasn’t doing so well, but because the atmosphere was suffocatingly awkward. The owner was in the back room with a reserved party, the employees were sitting around with customers who were their friends, and there was this very loud and obnoxious woman who could barely speak English. There was a group of people who were for Seattle and I thought she was going to beat them. She got very loud and kind of out of control and the owner did nothing about it. It was a very uncomfortable situation. The bar seems to be run by a family and most of their customers seem to be their friends. It was a very unprofessional environment for first time customers like my family and I. The little bit of food we had though was good and if you bought a bucket of beer, it was only $ 5 I believe, you’d be set. All in all a very awkward place to go if you’re not a regular or friend of the family. I’d probably NEVER go back, whether it be for a Denver game or a place to grab a drink.

Seriously this place is one of the nicest places to go. The service is so great and they make you feel like family when you come here. It’s great for sports enthusiasts with the Heisman room and tv’s. It’s great to watch the games and is an all around great bar for all ages. I love this bar. :)

The French dip sandwich is wonderful at Shevy’s. I would go back for that alone. Lacks in atmosphere, but who cares if the food is great and this sandwich was.

This place must be a hit or miss from reading the other reviews. I had bought a Groupon/LivingSocial/SomeOtherDeal to this place and thought we’d try it out. I was expecting it to be nicer than it was, but we’re not opposed to more of a dive bar so we proceeded to find a seat. The place was NOT busy… maybe two or three other tables. A waitress NEVER came to our table. She walked by, acknowledged us, and that was it. We couldn’t believe it. After waiting for 15 minutes(which seemed like an eternity), we left and went across the street to Bella Vita. I’d highly recommend going straight to Bella Vita and passing on this place. I never used my Groupon/LivingSocial/SomeOtherDeal… I ate the money. Why bother, right? In addition… I was talking to a friend who stopped by this place before attending a wedding out in Elkhorn. They needed to kill an hour. They had about the same service. In the hour they were there, the two of them had one beer each… because the waitress never came by to see if they wanted anything else. Another customer lost.

Good Tuesday lunch special! Went to Omaha for business to see a one of our clients. Our client is a regular at Shevy’s and said we had to go to lunch here. Shevy’s has a Tuesday steak special. So three of us chose the steak lunch special. Nice sized steak. The steak was cooked to medium rare, ample size, with strong marbling, and good taste. Nebraska corn fed beef! Steak was accompanied by a loaded baker. Baker was completely cooked, with tons of loaded toppings… Salad was okay… The others enjoyed their steak as well., Service was good and quick. The waitresses immediately asked where I was from. I asked why and they said my Texas drawl stood out from the regulars… Always good to have Texas recoginized. Good place to have lunch. Atmosphere is typcial pub but good service and food!

Well I really don’t have much to say about this place, as expected typical bar food. Hamburger was dry and overcooked and arrived with only pickles. I’m sure it’s a fun bar atmosphere on the weekends and at night– I like the area of old town Elkhorn reminds me of my hometown in Kansas.

Horrible service. A group of four of us sat on the patio and the waitress never came to our table in the three hours we were there. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks. They also ran out of Bud Light Lime at 11pm. The other customers were very friendly, nice crowd. I gave it two stars because they have a patio.

Went here on the recommendation from a friend and it was pretty decent. It’s a nice little place on Main Street in Elkhorn. The waitress/bartender was very nice. Started with nachos and they were very good(cheese sauce tasted like Tanners). I ordered the walleye sandwich and gf ordered a burger with egg. The walleye was great and the tarter sauce tasted homemade. The burger was sub-par(looked pre formed and was very greasy), however the egg was cooked perfect and the fries were really good. The worst thing about the experience was that every TV in the place was on the stupid soccer game. And not only were we subjected to the video but the audio was on all the speakers also. If you are going to have something like soccer on at least play music.
