The Old Spaghetti Factory

Food is great. Service is great unless you call in for to go order. Your told 10 – 15 minutes when your order will be ready. The only problem is that is how long you wait AFTER you arrive to get your order. Your order is put in when you get there. So leave immediately after you hang up. Otherwise it’s around 30 minutes or longer before you actually get your food.

This is the first time I took my kids to the Old Spaghetti Factory. We did not have to wait long, we were given a table in about 15 minutes.
We were served bread and butter, but no appetizer plates. No napkins were given either. My daughter had ordered vegetarian (spinach and cheese ravioli) and I crab raviolis. The waitress that brought the food switched our orders. We complained and the waitress didn’t even apologize! My daughter was very upset. 1^st visit, bad experience. Poor customer service.

I came here for lunch one morning with my friend, being it was a week day and early it was not crowded at all. Italian places are not usually my favorite to dine at because I find them to be overpriced for something so simple to make. I decided to order the chicken parmesan since it’s not something I eat at home. When I got the dish I was disappointed, I didnt think it was even chicken parmesan. There was no breading or topping at all on the chicken. The plate merely consisted of plain pasta noodles, marinara sauce, and a slice of chicken on top. That is not parmesan chicken… this is plain spaghetti with a piece of chicken!!? And the noodles were very hard and flavorless, the sauce was basic and unflavored also. The whole dish tasted like it came from a sauce can. I could make 100 times better pasta at home. At least they give you free bread, but its still not that great of bread, especially for the expensive price. Definitely pass on here. Id suggest macaroni grill down the street wayyyyyyy before this place

Nice place to take the family for a complete meal and the prices are excellent!!! We love the creamy pesto salad dressing and the mizithra!!! Wonderful place to go with children. Servers have also always been very nice.

I really have to give it to OSF. I feel like a couple of years ago this location was struggling which I base on the fact that any time I would go, it would be a ghost town, but it now appears to be quite busy every time I go. In my opinion I feel this can be attributed to an improvement in business practices.
Every time I’ve come, my server is always friendly, smiles, is prompt, and the service is just great. The food comes out quickly, the drinks are always full, and I am always satisfied with the quality of my meal. I LOVE the mizithra spaghetti… something about it is so good. I usually pair that with the chicken marsala, but this time I went with the new tenderloin and mizithra which is just as delicious. I don’t know about the $ 19 price tag, but since it is always just so delicious I guess it’s ok .
I also enjoy the fact that you get unlimited bread, a little side salad before your meal, and some ice cream to top things off. I really like this restaurant and feel that they have done a really good job with their food and customer service alike. I will continue to come here!

This place serves the Old Spaghetti menu as one would expect. There is no problem there. They note that the chain was founded in 1969. A bit of that shows with the menu. Iceberg lettuce for a salad is something most restaurants with a flair for current trends would never offer. Heck, you won’t find iceberg lettuce salads in Italy, nor most of the other stuff on their menu. They serve American-​ized version Italian classics. My favorite is the sampler titled, The Pot Porporri. This gives you a sampling of their Mizithra Cheese, clam sauce meat sauce, and marinara sauces over spaghetti noodles. Of course, Mizithra cheese is Greek. Proper Mizithra cheese comes from the island Crete, and while I like the taste of it, I doubt the Old Spaghetti Factory actually imports from theirs.

Cute atmosphere and friendly staff, but the food is terrible. I had the Marsala Chicken which was a rubber texture and had huge chunks of fat on the ends, and my husband love chicken fettuccine Alfredo and ordered it here and couldn’t even finish it. Will not be returning.

It’s been months since our daughter has been able to go out to a nice dinner since she’s been in and out of the hospital. She’s had a few good days so she requested dinner at her favorite place. The manager tonight was so thoughtful in the extra care and attention for our daughter. Little did he know he made tonight great for our family after all that she has been through. Human kindness goes a long way!
Plus the food is always so good! Thank you!

I went for my friends bday and I was highly impressed by the service and friendliness of the employees. My waiters name was Ray and he was fantastic. He joked with us and made eating there fun. I truly was satisfied by the food and the ice cream. Everything was amazing. Shout out to Ray.

Sol was our server this night and what great service she provided. The menu has plenty to offer and very reasonable on pricing. This place is just around the corner from me and I don’t know why I don’t go more. Chicken Marsalla was very good and moist chicken and very good sauce for an institutional product. Lasagna was good just slightly over sauced. My wife order the scampi app and salad but we were a bit thrown off because it said «Broiled» thinking it was done with less butter and oil. I should have know «Scampi» is done with plenty of butter. This dish was good but was done in a dish of butter and garlic and then broiled. Sol noticed that we slow on eating our meal and asked if all was ok. We said yes we were just talking to much. I did mention about the description of the scampi but it was still a good dish and we were ok with it. She offed to bring something else and we declined and said it was ok. When the bill came she removed that dish with an apology. This was not nessisary at all but appreciated. That there is great service!
All in all and very good meal and great service!

#3 on the menu (you get an ice cream for dessert) for $ 30+ for 2 ppl. The portion and meatballs size have gotten smaller from the last time we ate here. Disappointed. Not sure if they have a new cook or new management. This is only my 3^rd time coming here.

The Old Spaghetti Factory is a tradition in my family, and a recent 80^th birthday was a good excuse to have a large celebration at the Elk Grove location. This location is substantially different than other locations with a rather generic exterior and interior architecture which ironically blends in with the normally bland power center on Bruceville and Laguna.
The menu is consistent across all the locations. The staff were very helpful and nice setting up and supporting a large group. The banquet room was in the back of the restaurant, but separated enough for the rambunctious children to play and yell without annoying the other customers. The food was served promptly to order and was good as usual. I tried the new beef tenderloin with mizithra spaghetti; it was good, but the steak was sliced thin and a little over cooked.
This is a decent option for those living in the area, but most people will probably enjoy the more unique architecture and feel of the other Sacramento locations.

Hubby and I had plans to dine at Jack’s next door, but he wanted to try this restaurant out since he’s never visited this restaurant before. We decided to order off their lunch special menu. I ordered «The Manager’s Special» which is a combination of two pasta dishes of your choice. My husband ordered the Clams Sauce Pasta (does not come with any clams). The lunch special also comes with a side of soup or salad. We both opted for a salad which was not very fresh. The produce was not crunchy and seem to be wilting. Our pasta dish was not good. We both were reluctant to finish our meals. Homemade pasta tastes so much better! I also ordered a kids spaghetti for my son which came with apple sauce and ice cream for dessert. Service was subpar since we had to flag our server down multiple times because she forgot to bring out the chocolate milk and the ice cream for our child.
Only cool part about our visit was dining inside the train that my son was overly excited about. Other than that, meh…

How come every time I order food here they never give me my god damn ice cream? The first time I tried this place I didn’t know my meal came with ice cream and the waiter didn’t even bother to ask or give me any. Today I placed an order trying to remember that it comes with ice cream but the girl on the phone didn’t even mention what kind I wanted so I had to ASK her for it. I kept it friendly because I don’t want nobody to spit in my food even though she sounded like a smart ass just because I said I wanted the pasta with chicken, fettucinni, alfredo, spinach and mushrooms. And she goes, «We don’t have that.» And paused. Uh, well, I forgot what it’s called since I didn’t have the menu in front of me and it’s only my second time ordering from here but I’m sure they have something similar because I just saw the menu when I was at home earlier. I replied, «Oh, you don’t?» Then she says, «We only have the chicken fettuccinni that comes with chicken, mushrooms and broccoli.» «Um, yeah, that’s the one I meant.» I asked for Italian dressing for my salad and she said they didn’t have that but balsamic vinegar or something. Uh, same thing, I’ll have that. Garlic bread or no? Regular bread please. To-​go plastic silverware or no? Why did she even ask me this? Of course I need a spoon and fork to eat my food with. It should come with it! She was about to hang up on me until I asked her for my god damn ice cream. They need more knowledgeable and friendlier service on their phones. Not sure if I will frequent this place unless I crave cheap spaghetti because even though they have fast service, they need to be more friendly. Speaking of friendly, the girls at the front desk don’t need to be huddling around each other and gossiping in front of customers. That’s not very professional. I still tipped the preparer $ 2 for getting my order right. Good thing I didn’t tip the first time because I didn’t get any ice cream any way.
Visit was on Thurs. March 24 @ around 4:30pm.

If I could do it this place should get a ZERO ! We went in before 2 groups came in and they were seated right away and we were a party of 2 and the reception said give 5 min prior the the the 2 groups of people came in and there what I saw were booth available. After fifteen min we got up and left !
I read some other review and they were about the same we encounter !!! So we went across the plaza and had a great meal and waited for our meal was faster from Jacks than getting a table at spaghetti factory.

I have very fond memories of the Spaghetti Factory brand from childhood, but I can’t really get that excited about it as an adult.
This location is located in a strip mall and is always busy. Because it shares a parking lot with Jack’s Urban Eats and Blast 825 Pizza, parking can be challenging. Once you find a parking spot, there is usually a wait during dinner and on the weekends. It gets very busy and loud in this restaurant which makes it hard to have a conversation without screaming at each other.
The food is okay, if you have very low expectations of Italian food. In my opinion, there’s nothing special or creative about their menu offerings. Value wise, their prices are definitely not on par with the food quality. I spent $ 20 on an unremarkable lunch of pomodoro over angel hair with chicken and a soda. Yes, it comes with bread, salad and ice cream, but I’d rather forgo those «extras» for better quality food. Sadly, my 8 year old niece loves this place or else I would opt for another restaurant. I loved this chain too when I was a kid, but I think I’ve outgrown it.

Consistency. That is what this place is all about. It is the exact same as it was when I was a kid, but at this location (vs. the downtown converted train depot) a lot of the charm is lost. We come here just once a year now — when my oldest daughter asks to come for her birthday. ALWAYS get the soup vs. the salad. The creamy pesto is amazing, but who cares when it is on top of five pieces of wilting iceberg? The bread and garlic butter are solid, but the entrees typically disappoint. My meat sauce and italian suasage combo was flopped onto the plate and was uninspiring. The spumoni is always good, but somehow I always end up with waaaaay less pistachio than I want! All in all, not terrible, but not great.

My girlfriend is extremmmmmmmmely picky when it comes to food. So, going to new places with her is always sketchy because she will ask for something else if it isn’t too her liking. Well, that happened here with the soup AND the salad (I thought they tasted just fine). Well, the servers at most restaurants usually get a little grumpy/​frustrated. But, our server was extremely pleasant and even apologetic about it all. She got her another soup and salad and came back often to see how the rest of our meal went. Great experience.

What I love about the old spaghetti factory is that no matter were you go it’s always consistent. I’ve memorized my entire familie’s order which is nice because I can basically order for all 8 of us everytime.

Came here for a quick lunch before I go shopping and I’m a huge fan of spaghetti, the food taste great as always and pretty much the same quality as the branches in Southern California.
The service is good and my waitress Chante made sure that the food is good and that I’m happy.
The serving size is big enough to make sure that you feel like you want to take a nap after you eat! 3 course menu for under $ 15 is not bad at all.
