Spring Villa, next to Best Buy is owned by the original Owners of Sunflower. Went today to Spring Villa and the food is the same. The menu is identical, only green colored. Still sad that Sunflower is out of business! Some of the employees from Sunflower are now at Spring Villa.

I love love Sun Flowers Chinese food! I admit we have been coming here for many many years. The food to my opinion is excellent. We have never had any problems with the service. The staff is super nice. We usually do take out, but we have eaten in the restaurant on many occasions as well. Ok Let’s talk about the food~ First up, my favorite the walnut shrimp and they are awesome! The flavor that they have.ummm. We get those pretty much every time we come here, because they are just that good. The shrimp fried rice is also great, they put a lot of big shrimp in the rice. I also enjoy the beef and broccoli, excellent favor too the food overall and extremely tasty. I think if you’re looking for some great Chinese food in the Elk Grove area, this is without a doubt a great place to check out. The restaurant itself has a cozy feel to it and I like that the lights are dim and the atmosphere is soothing. They do get busy during some of the holidays like Mothers day and Easter that I know of so we would always do take out whenever we ordered around this time, but we always call the order in first and it would be ready once we get here. Sun Flowers restaurant is in the same parking lot as the Wal Mart when you get off of highway 99. It’s easy to find, and like I said the staff is pretty cool and they are professional and I will admit You don’t have to wait long for your food. That is I’ve never waited long. Never had a bad experience ever, since we been coming here. I love this place! And I highly recommend it. I’ve noticed that the prices have gone up quite a bit. So be prepared to spend a few bucks, but I think it would be worth it. I don’t mind spending if it’s worth it. I won’t buy lunch here because I think that’s over priced. It’s like almost $ 9.-$ 10 bucks for lunch and I think that’s a bit steep for a mid day meal. I do enjoy this place and has for many years. One of the best Chinese places I’ve found.

Very tasty! Persuaded to come here and boy am I happy. Excellent flavor — try the general’s chicken and the crispy walnut shrimp(with pineapple). We also loved the crab Rangoon, but the best thing about this place is the friendly service. I will be a regular, I just know it!

It’s been a while since I have gone out to eat and i decided to stop by here just because i was in the area. Usually all Chinese restaurants taste the same to me but for some reason the food was beyond what i expected. I had the Hot braised fish and the Mongolian beef combo and it was absolutely delicious! I thought it would be too salty but both dishes were well balanced in proportion and flavor. It definitely was a change from other Chinese restaurant, so if you’re ever craving Chinese food i definitely recommend this place!

Love this place. Just came in for lunch very pleasant service. And quick for when you need to go back to work. Food came out fast and when I got back to my office food was so good. Got fried rice and crab puffs and the flat noodle chowfun and wonton soup omg soup is the best and filling. Definitely going again tonight bonus next to a cream shop for dessert afterwards bonus.

Love coming here. Hole in the wall style restaurant very family friendly usually restaurants and staff can get impatient and plain old frustrated at the sight of a toddler but the staff and owner(who is very hands on) where so welcoming and awesome with my child talking with her and giving treats. My drink was always filled never empty food was great soups are the best here and not pricey like other places that serve not price worthy food. Food came out fast and very good and filling service is awesome what more can you ask for? I love it here will continue to support great people.

Came in for dinner with my family, and everything was delicious! We ordered hot braise fish, Xo fried rice, honey walnut shrimp and sauteed string beans. The flavor was on point & proportions were just right. The honey walnut shrimp was my favorite, texture was firm & crisp added with a sweet & zingy taste! They even treated us with these succulent oranges which finished off our meal well. The service was great & welcoming. Overall, definitely coming back for another visit.

Man, I think they either changed management or they just got hit hard with higher prices. The menu has changed, portions are smaller, and meals aren’t as tasty. We usually get their house fried rice, salt and pepper pork chop, and something else. We didn’t see their house fried rice on the menu, so we asked the guy if they had it. He said they don’t do it anymore, and recommended us this fried rice with XO sauce. He tried to explain what XO sauce was, but we couldn’t understand him, so we just got the regular fried rice. We also got fried cream cheese wontons, salt and pepper porkchops, and seafood clay pot. The wontons came first, and wow. I think they burnt them. The top was super brown! The color was uneven throughout. I’m not sure how to make them, but if it were to be burnt, I would think the bottom would get burnt, not top. Then the rest of the meal came. The fried rice was okay. It doesn’t compare to their house fried rice. The porkchops were salty and very chewy, as if I was chewing on rubber. The seafood clay pot was actually good. Maybe add a tad bit of salt, then it would be better. But it still tasted fine as is. My dad was still hungry so he ordered more fried rice. This second batch was oily! They probably used two palm sized amounts of oil! I was grossed out. Overall, my recent experience wasn’t good. Their food isn’t as good as usual. The servers are nice, but I’m not a fan of their food anymore. Sigh. Oh well. Also, my fortune cookie had a slither of white blank paper. I couldn’t even get a full blank fortune :(

Whenever I come here, I wonder. is it because I don’t dress fancy &/or I’m not white that’s why these mean waitresses don’t even offer me tea or water even after I order a bunch of stuff. Food maybe good but SERVICESUCKS! Wouldn’t you want to eat at a place where you feel appreciated?

I’ve been going to this place for years but they just keep getting worse. There food is good but there’s one down the street in the best buy shopping center called spring villa where there is better customer service and I believe it’s the same owner bc the food is the same. This places customer service is probably one of the worst I’ve ever had in my life. If u ask for take out and ask for soy sauce they only give u one packet even if u have 3 different orders and if u ask for more they tell u they already gave u one. And if u ask for hot sauce, the same thing. U have to literally argue for more soy sauce. And they will ignore u if u ask for more. Those ladies are ruthless, they don’t care for customer service at all and they make it a point to show they don’t care.

I love this place. I’ve been going here since I’ve been a kid and it’s still as good as I remember it. The steamed sea bass is on point. The honey walnut shrimp and mongolian beef are my personal favorites.

This place is far from«traditional» cooking. This place is mediocre at best. And that is being generous. Honestly being of Chinese descent, I guess I have a high standard for Chinese cusine. But seriously the last time I actually pass up phở for this subpar food. But my girlfriend and her family this this place is OK so I won’t rip on this place too much. The food was not what was promised to me, even though I confirmed in Cantonese with the server ladies. They still gave me some half assed, over salted, dry and scrambled dish. I asked for smooth scrambled egg over rice and that was what I was promised yet it looked nothing like what she had confirmed with me when I ordered it. They said«ohhhhh…you meant the tomatoes scrambled egg with gravy.» WTF??? no I never said anything about tomato or gravy. The scrambled egg is runny and resembles gravy but it isn’t(there will be a side by side comparison pic either below or in the pics) My girlfriend got fried rice it was super salty, not seared well enough to make it not so sticky and give it a slight burnt taste. The rice was better than the supposed smooth scrambled egg dish I got and when you can mess up fried rice… that is just it. And also we ordered this weird doused in ketchup like syrup sugar coating fish dish. Seriously tasted like borderline diabetes and the paring of bell peppers and onions were just off and the fish had a weird taste… almost like you can taste what the fish ate mixed with tasting the sea(in a bad way) Overall I would love to never return to this place again. Being next door to Fujis… I would rather wait in their epic lines and pay a little more for better food that looks and is yummy from beginning to end.

Been coming here for about 6 or 7 years. I like their food much better than some of the other local Chinese places but I think their prices are high for smaller portions. The quality is great though. Some of our favorites are their beef and broccoli, fried rice, noodle dishes, and sweet and sour whatever. Pretty boring I know but really yummy. Service is okay, nothing outstanding. There is always seating, it is never crowded. They do takeout too.

I have been coming to this place for years and had gotten used to its HORRIBLE customer service. The only reason I keep going back is because the food is amazing. The service is so bad that anytime you ask for extra napkins they give you 2, I repeat 2 measly napkins and we’re usually a party of 3 or more. It’s ridiculous. Anytime you ask for anything you get a rude stare and eye rolling. It’s the most ridiculous customer service ever. It’s so bad, the great tasting food is no longer worth it. Shame.

Do not recommend this place. Very rude servers. It’s only us in restaurant and they are standing there and watching us. Zero star for service. One star for food. One star for cleaning. Will not return to this location.

My sister and I used to come here all the time several years ago. We moved out of the area but we are now both close again so it’s time to come back. I saw a lot of the comments about the place and I was surprised to find such low scores. The food was just as good as I remember it. The staff were very kind, they cracked jokes with me and even gave me a thank you for returning after so many years. My order was accurate even including the no veggie pork fried rice and the mostly noodle pork chow mein. The next time I am wanting Chinese Food that doesn’t come in styrofoam containers from a very large and adorable Chinese mammal, I will return. And so will my sister.
