Came in at 7:55 pm on 1⁄27 and really wanted a margarita, the resturant was moderately busy as well as the bar. probably 5 groups of three people in the bar and about 6 tables in the restaurant. Had to wait for the hostess and decided to go to the bar… Yuck-O! Every open table had garbage piled up on top… and no employees were anywhere to be found. HELLO?! we stood there for a few minutes and finally decided to get out before we even sat down. Horrible representation of your restaurant. This is the second time this has happened and last time we had to wait over an hour to get food… does the hostess cook the food also?

I came here to order the ultimate fajitas and a chicken and cheese quesadilla. You would think it would be easy but biggest pain in the neck! First I walked in the host gave me the menu which happen to be new and I went to swipe upward to flatten the menu and a staple went straight into my hand which was no biggie she offered a band aid etc etc. People wakes in she asked if she could seat them said sure no problem, see I can be understanding… But this happened two more times and it took awhile. I knew what I wanted to order and wanted to go after working all day. She finally started taking my order and asked what I would like for a side, my options were sour cream, pico, guac, or cheese… I thought a side would be rice, beans, something like that. So I proceeded to ask her what comes with the ultimate fajitas if none of those come with… cheese I can understand never had fajitas with cheese. But she couldn’t tell me what it came with, she just kept going back to the menu to read off it. I asked does it come with grilled veggies? Or just the meat… she was trying to give some half arse answer which was her repeating the same thing in a different way. I was going to just ask for someone else to help me I really just wanted to know what was with the fajitas if the veggies and nothing else was included with what I was about to spend $ 20 on. Instead she went to help the crowd that came through the door, and I just decided I was over it and left. Went across the street to grab sandwiches for the family instead.

Restaurant has a nice atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. Menu selections are more than adequate in number. Food I have ordered over time has been generally very good. Wait service is spotty — sometimes good and sometimes not so good.

Excellent!!! The watermelon margarita is amazing! They have excellent waiters, I have yet to be disappointed with one. Everything we have tried on the menu comes piping hot, fresh tasting and best of all Authentic looking and tasting. I love, love, love their Fajita trio with the steak. Just thinking about it makes me hungry. Also their salsa is great I often order it for parties and other functions. Definitely an asset to the Elk Grove Food District!

Went in for brunch and ordered the unlimited mimosa, first 2 were good. After ordering the 3rd I was disappointed all it was OJ, this isn’t the first time this has happened. I will not be going back for brunch again.

Ordered take out tonight and we were very disappointed when we got home. We ordered the ultimate fajita and border sampler. Where do I begin… Ultimate Fajita: Comes with steak, chicken, shredded pork and shrimp. For an entrée that includes a lot of meat, there wasn’t much of it and what little I did get was very dry and flavorless. Also, I did not get any tortillas or garlic butter dipping sauce for the 3 shrimps, wtf?! This entrée was pretty much all sautéed onions and zucchini with a little side of meat. Border Sampler: Comes with chicken flautas, steak nachos and a chicken quesadilla. Again meat portion was almost non existent and they covered that up with a ton of refried beans on the nachos. Also, did not get the queso dipping sauce which my husband loves. Even with a coupon, it is still overpriced and not worth our hard earned money. Definitely will be our last time ordering food from this place.

I went to meet friends on a Tuesday at about 2pm. It was empty and it still took a hostess 15 minutes to seat us. Food is mediocre and way too salty. I had the chicken tortilla soup that is «loved by everyone» according to our waitress. None of us finished our entrees, as they were too salty all around. The chips are great, and oddly enough, not salty, just right.

Only one issue and I’ll get to that 1st. Ordered 3 cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. Nothing too fancy. I was given two servings of rice and no beans. Not that big of a deal, probably would have said something though had in not been for the fact that my wife, kids & I arrived at 9:10 and they closed at 10. Didn’t have much time to eat so I let it go. The hostess that greater us was very nice and our server was on her game. Overall I’m satisfied because I know restaurants hate when people come in last minute so 4 stars because of the beans lol

This is my frequent happy hour spot because happy hour is daily 3pm-6pm and 9pm-Closing. I come here for the happy hour margaritas and love them so much! The first place that serves happy hour margaritas that aren’t completely the sour mix! The margaritas are strong and delicious, especially in the heat. There’s bottomless chips and salsa for free, which is a huge plus because their salsa is super spicy and flavorful! I come here with a friend or two and you can get out of here paying $ 4 for a margarita and leave with a full stomach from chips and salsa as well. How can you not beat that? The staff are all really nice, I’m usually helped by a new person each time I visit, but they are all very kind and attend to me perfectly to make sure my table is doing well! Aside from happy hour, I have come here and ordered full plates of food as well, which are also really amazing. I got the mini corn tacos and avocado fries and they’re very delicious! Having an itch for a happy hour with friends? Definitely come here! Only downside I can think of is the music. This restaurant is mostly just loud conversation. I feel that it could be better if there’s more music going on as well!

So I visited this place tonight 8÷14÷15 and I ordered fajitas nachos with the sour cream Pico and guacamole on the side due to me not likeing any of it and someone else in my party wanting it, when out waiter Megan brought out my food it had everything on it and had the nerves to ask me if it was ok I said no I do not like it, and will not eat it if it is touching it, she took my food back to «remake» it when she brought me my food back she had the nerves to ask if i had any food allergies like really who does thats. So I started to eat it thinking they remade my food but there were still some with sour cream and guacamole on it. I told the manager she said oh and offered me ice cream um no and tried to give me some lame excuse of why they did it, excuse me there should not be some excuse of why they did it. terrible terrible service all around!

The food was good. The speed on which our food came out was slow. The service was just ok. Took a long time for everything. Asked the manager for tortillas and no one came. Had to ask another server for them. The manager did come back and said she had asked for them to bring them out. She did apologize and gave us a $ 5.00 certificate. Definitely not Chevys!

Foul. Absolutely foul. The food smelled like hot garbage and tasted like an old shoe, the service was mediocre, and the price was outrageous. Skip this and head for any other Mexican food, Chevy’s is far better and it’s just down the street. This was some of the worst food I’ve ever had in my life.

Everyone here were great from the hostess at the door to the other waitresses EXCEPT for the WAITRESS we had. Worst experience ever at an establishment. Bad service from her included; 1. She wasn’t friendly. Whatever we needed we had to ask for that’s including water. 2. She didn’t bring out the tortilla that came with the sizzling grilled chicken entrée($ 14.99)until the food was half way eaten. 3. Never offered to refill our water or asked if we needed more chips or salsa or anything at that. 4. But she was QUICK to try to pull one off on my bill by adding a diet coke for $ 2.99. Really?! I don’t drink soda… let alone diet coke. I told her about the diet coke and she apologized saying«oh, I’m sorry.» She took the receipt back and gave us a new receipt. 5. I payed with a gift card($ 25) and $ 10 in cash for the difference. Total correct amount($ 34.53) Instead of using the full gift card amount of $ 25 she gave us the gift card back with a balance of $ 0.47 cents. Are you freaking serious? (Now I know she was messing with us. Probably didn’t like us because we didn’t order anything to drink. I don’t know) I’m not one to not tip. But I believe tipping goes toward gratuity of service provided. Her service was poor from the beginning to end. That gift card with a balance of $ 0.47 cent is more than enough for her. (I usually leave a tip of 15%, but she did me a favor) This is a first. Even service from a fast food restaurant like Carl’s Jr. is better. They train their employees to say ‘my pleasure ’ whenever I say ‘thank you’. Nope, not coming here again. Not for service like her’s. Oh, btw… food was alright. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - 6÷9÷15 Thank you to the GM(J.P.) for reaching out and trying to make things better. Very much appreciated!

Visited for the first time March 31st for lunch. Restaurant not busy at all. We were given a table immediately but waited 15 minutes to order drinks. 35 minutes later our food arrived and tasted pretty good. Server was awol. Couldn’t get drink refills. I finally had to use my cell phone to call the restaurant and ask the hostess to find our server. We were in the facility for an hour and 35 minutes for 3 people to have lunch in an un-crowded dining room. We watched table after table come in after us and leave before us. We won’t be back… ever.

Really nice lunch! The lunch fajitas special came with a tortilla soup and dessert for $ 14.99. Split the meal with my friend Julie and we are both rolling out of here stuffed! The tortillas were freshly made on site to order. Super yummy and wonderful staff. Will be back

My boyfriend ate here. It was was our first time here, I had eaten at the one in Dallas Texas before. Food was great and our waitress was very friendly and always made sure we were ok. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area.

I am always down to go to happy hour at on the border! It’s one of the only places I know that has happy hour on a weekend. From 3−6pm is my little slice of heaven. The $ 3 margaritas are always delicious with their mini chimichangas.

My coworkers and I were trying to find a new place for a lunch spot, since we were tired of the same places we always went to. A coworker who is a commoner of this place, highly recommended it, and since we had a coupon, we decided it would be awesome to try out. We were greeted and seated pretty promptly and we did tell them we were in a hurry due to our lunch break, so they tried their best to accomodate us. I ordered the Citrus Chipotle Chicken Salad, nice fresh lettuce with grilled chicken, corn, cheese, mangoes, and a delicious vinaigrette! It was tasty, fresh, and oh oh yummy! Highly recommended! Since we had fellow Unilocalers check in, we also got a free bowl of queso, and I gotta tell ya, that stuff was MUCHO addicting! At the end of our meal, we had a coupon, and realized our Queso actually wasn’t free. I wish someone would’ve pointed that out to us before we ordered, but that’s just me complaining too much. The overall atmosphere and experience was nice, and I would definitely return!

Happy hour! Prices are great. Appetizers and drinks range from $ 3-$ 5 and they also have pitchers. They have two happy hour times: Mon-Fri 3−7pm & Sun-Thurs 9-close. I came here with a group of people. We started off with a round of margaritas. One is enough for me because I wasn’t planning on staying there all night. We ordered a bunch of food to share– cup of queso, empanadas, chicken flautas, and cantina nachos. Because I drank, the food tasted better to me than if I was sober. The servers also made sure we had plenty of chips and salsa(free). Good time, but I would probably only visit the place for their happy hour.
