Good service. Clean atmosphere. Started with crab Rangoon. .spectacular… Split dinner… had shanghai noodles and Mongolian chicken. We ordered citrus cosmipolitan and citrus raspberry iced tea… both a little sweet but refreshing. Only 6.95 each.

I love this place. I’ve been living in the area for a little over 2 years and I was having a hard time finding a Chinese restaurant that taste similar to those in the city. I’ve tried their fried rice, egg food young, orange chicken and pot stickers and they are all delicious. I highly recommend this place. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because after lunch hours everything is a la cart and it can get pretty pricey.

ordered take out on phone and told 10 minutes. I went in to pick up and nobody around, wait 5 – 6 mins and girl comes out from back and tells me my food is coming. So I walk out front to make a phone call and walk back in, same girl says can I help you ?? I’m here for my order, she says«what you order? » I tell her, she walks to back and comes out with an old guy who yells«what u order?»…I tell him, he yells it coming! I wait for another 10 minutes and still no food. The girl comes out from back, and now I’ve been there for 25 minutes having ordered on phone 40 minutes ago, and she says«what u want? «I tell this is the 3rd time you have asked me and I ordered food 40 minutes ago and was told 10 minutes. She asks what u order… REALLY …WTF ??? I walked out. Place was empty and now I know why.

Very disappointing. I have lived here for 3 years and have driven by here so many times, so I decided to check it out. The food just simply is not good, and I have had WAY better Chinese at other locations near by. I will say that the person at the front desk(maybe the owner?) does care about how fast the food gets out and had questions about the Unilocal online ordering/pick-up option. However, the crab rangoons had no crab, or any seasoning whatsoever. It was just pure cream cheese. The fried rice was barely fried rice and had very little vegetables. The Orange Beef was very spicy(it didn’t say that on the menu) and if you would have asked me to guess what kind of meat it was, I wouldn’t have said beef. It was so breaded and fried that I’m not sure if I can call it beef. Overall I wouldn’t come back. the food is not worth the price, even if it does come out fast and hot. Maybe that’s why it is bad?

The Egg Drop Soup and Crab Rangoon were probably the best bit of the meal. Excellently made on both counts. The soup was rich, full of eggy goodness and wonderful to the taste. The Rangoon was packed full of cream cheese and popped in just the right way. From there though, it goes a bit downhill. The egg roll was average at best and the calamari — cooked Chinese-style, per our server — was chewy and lacked any kind of flavor. The General Tso’s chicken was defeated at the first encounter. What it lacked in tastiness, it attempted to make up for with the raw, naked force of spice. It ended up being a really clunky mess of a dish. The server was incredibly nice and overall, it was a wonderful atmosphere. But for all that, it most likely won’t be enough to entice us into a second visit.

Service wasn’t the greatest, and the food was alright nothing out of this world crazy good. Place was empty when we came in and waiters for some reason are always in the back. Our drinks were empty because the entire time and we couldn’t even bother a waitress because they were in the back. One thing that was very odd was when we asked to have boxes to go they Said«we’ll do it for you» and then they took it in back… Seems very sketchy?

Used to be amazing. The last few months it has gone downhill quickly. Carry out orders are usually 10 – 15 minutes late from the time they state– I don’t care if it’s going to be 25 minutes, don’t tell me 15 minutes then make me stand there for another 10. Beef meals vary between perfect and very tough/chewy and the service is just bad. When I called to complain that my carry-out order was missing some food they i was accused of lying. ‘If your order is actually missing eggrolls, you can come pick some up.’ After I’d already been there and back home. Here’s a top — if you want to keep customers, just say sorry and make it right. tl:dr Don’t waste your time. (847) 593‑1360 is light years better.

After living in Elk Grove my whole life I decided to try this place out and I was very hesitant… it had terrible service. I walked in and the owner started taking my order then totally ignored me before I even finished and started helping someone else. I was so shocked that he did this because I work at a restaurant and we do not treat our customers that way at all. Very disappointed I walked out and went somewhere else.

Walked in and ordered take out on a Monday, the wait was between 5 – 10 minutes. A bit pricey. The chicken fried rice was very good, I would order from here again

The crab rangoon and pot stickers are good. The walnut shrimp is delicious. But I have a uneasy feeling about this place. Once I ate there and did not finish my food. They took my plate in the back to wrap up my food for me to take home. When i got home I noticed the food I took home was left than half of the food left on my plate. This made me think what they are doing with the food I didn’t finish. ARETHEYRESERVINGITTOOTHERCUSTOMERS??? I went back again and when I was finished eating I asked for the waitress to bring me a box for my left over food. She asked if she could take it in the back and wrap it up for me! EWWWWW! I said no just bring me the box. Very sketchy. Please let me know if anyone else has experienced anything like this aT this place. I wish I would have opened up my fortune cookie first. Perhaps it would have warned me that I was about to eat the worst Chinese food of my life. I had an insane taste for Chinese food and found this place on the way home from work. I got a bad first impression when the woman who answered the phone acted like I was bothering her by ordering. The meal was ready when promised and stayed hot until I arrived home. Our family decided to dine on Beef Egg Foo Young, Vegetable Fried Rice and Onion Pancakes. The onion pancakes were so greasy that they slid off the plate and felt like you had Vaseline on your lips after eating one. We tried to soak up all of the grease, but still they were inedible. The fried rice was the worst we have ever had. To our astonishment the rice was also greasy and had a smell to it that was a combination of old socks, bad grease and toxic waste. Please don’t go here if you have a taste for some good Chinese food. #yuck

Their vegetable egg roll and veggie fried rice were great! A little expensive but I will be back for thier $ 7 lunch deal. Right next to the jewel so it’s easy to find and their staff was super friendly.

The food was excellent. We started with the Lettuce wrap and Pot stickers for appetizers. Both were cooked to perfection. For the entrees I wanted to try something different so I ordered Foo-king fried rice and the wife ordered Beef chop suey. The entrees were very good and they brought out hot fresh plates for the food. We finished off with an order of Mango pudding. Very refreshing and not what I expected. All in all the food was very tasty. The service was excellent. We did seem to beat the dinner crowd. There were only 4 other tables and they seemed at ease with all that we ordered and were very attentive to what we needed. The service personnel were very social and had very pleasant conversation. All in all it was a good experience and we will be back for more.

Food is very average. The won ton soup was pretty good but the egg rolls were just ok. Chicken chop suey was ok to. This place is pretty pricey too if you dine in. I was here by my self had the soup, tea, egg roll, chop suey & the bill was $ 20.00 bucks. If you come I recommend you order carry out. They break down the food in large or small orders or maybe come for lunch. I saw those specials are about $ 7.00 otherwise it’s not worth it. Also the waitress demeanor was pretty rude. For $ 20.00 per person I expect damn good food & a good attitude.

No. We came here for lunch and it was all wrong. We had a lunch special that came in three parts. First, the egg drop soup arrived. It was off-color and tasted strange. Then the egg roll came and it was barely edible. Whatever was in there didn’t taste or look like meat. Our meals came and they were completely off. My sesame chicken was not the correct color. It had an orange sauce on it and the flavor was way off. In addition, my co-worker’s sweet and sour chicken was, as she put it, «disgusting and flavorless.» The fried rice wasn’t even good. How does one mess that up? Unfortunately(TMI) we both had to run to the washroom after our meal was complete — or what we could eat of it. Was it the MSG that made us feel ill? We couldn’t even get hot water or hot air from the sink and hand dryer in the washroom. Never again.

I’ve been here two times and can’t say that I am very impressed. Both my experiences are during the lunch hour. My first time here I had a shrimp wonton ramen noodle soup and it was just average. The bowl came out warm instead of hot. This ruins the whole experience for eating ramen. Your ramen should always be hot and so hot that you can’t sip the broth for a good portion of the meal. This ramen was just popped in the microwave for a few minutes and served. The second time I came here I had the pineapple chicken and again I was let down. The pineapples were anything but that. They were tasteless and watered down. I love pineapples and can appreciate a sweet addition to my chicken but this just wasn’t it. Peapod equals a no go for me.

«You eat moaww gweeeeeeen, you get moaww gweeeen in youww pocket!» — Famous line from this place we picked up on last year… but I digress… Golden egg drop soup, with the correct consistency of egg whites throughout the whole bowl. Awesome. How do they get their egg rolls so perfect? The paper-thin layer on the outside is super crispy but the 2nd layer is soft and pliable on the inside, with the filling hot and wonderfully balanced containing veggies and shrimp. Awesome. Probably best egg roll I have ever had. Had the ‘Peapod Special’ today, and it was not awesome, but still very good. The fried rice is quite enjoyable, but be forewarned that it is pretty bland, and just lightly fried with very little additions to it. I think it goes well with any main dish, but you may disagree. The vegetables(broccoli, mushrooms, bok choy) were all fine, as was the chicken and shrimp, and all were combined in a thick soy based sauce. However, the pork had a strange flavor to it, which thankfully did not influence anything else on the plate. We think it may have been marinated in a fish sauce, but not sure about that. Service is always great, as your plates are whisked away promptly, and your tea and water are never more than half-empty.
