I can’t believe this place only has 9 reviews! This club has been a staple in the Latin community for at least a decade! The music is always great, mixed between some top 40 and oldies in salsa, bachata and merengue. The ambiance is of a much bigger place, although it is actually not very large, but for a Jersey club it is pretty big. They tend to have dancers, and Beetle Juice get on stage to get the crowd going. There are sudden burst of confetti and they are very generous with props on themed nights. I have spent many Colombian festival parties here with just dancing the night away taking cheap shots of rum. I came here for New Years Eve as a last resort, and although the crowd wasn’t it’s usual amount, the party was just as fun. What was even better is that we paid $ 60 for open bar and an amazing spread of food. Yes the open bar was cheap alcohol, but cheap LITs taste just as disgusting as high class ones. F The only reason I don’t give it a 5 star review is because from my college days in 2004 until New Years Even in 2014, this place is NOTORIOUS for faking a big crowd by having poor innocent people freeze to death outside on line. This is really cruel and unnecessary punishment for us ladies, and quite frankly if I’ve traveled into this part of Elizabeth and paid a cover I’m not exactly bar hopping. Be aware the area is kind of shady, but there is valet, and if you are on a budget, head down a block away from the club(towards the houses) and plenty of free parking there. I am sure that there are many drunken nights in my future here… you should join me!

Headed out to coco bongo this place was packed with Puerto Ricans Dominicans, Cuba so if you are Latino or LatinaM you are represented well. the women were dressed in tight clothes with ots of big boty and cleavage exposed. They played a mix of reaggaeton, bachata salsa and some other Latin music I wasn’t sure the vibe was pretty col I think drinks were $ 8. not a place I will regularly visit but my clients were from the DR and they really wanted to go, A decent time considering there was some nice eye candy.

Awful experience!!! The staff is super rude! Even the manager! We rented the VIP for my brother who was turning the big 21, it was $ 350 for 2bittles and a bday cake. Since the very first minute we got there the staff were ver rude, we got kicked out because supposedly my brother was super drunk, which he wasn’t! Yes he was drinking like any normal person wants to do on their 21st bday!!! We didn’t even get the bday cake!!! This place is not what it use to be! I’m soooooo upset of the service and the overall experience!

This place used to be the best place to be in 2009 when it was newer, but I just visited last weekend and it has really gone down hill. There were never any fights and now thats all you see is people being bounce out of here for fighting. VIP is ehh, they kick you out after 12 if you dont order more bottles… Even if the club is half empty. really? The crowd definitely changed and the sound system is horrible. If you go here be prepared to be deaf for 2 days after and the stage is a lot lower than it used to be so theres not dancers in beautiful outfits dancing anymore. Its not as exciting as it used to be and I do believe the quality has drastically changed for the worse. Don’t think im going back here… ever.

Always a fun time dancing here with my gf till 3am. We usually park around the block(plenty of parking available even on Fri nights). Price is kinda high for guys at $ 20 but I think before 11pm it’s free for girls. The crowd can be intimidating sometimes and fights break out but people generally mind their own business. I agree with the other reviewer that the music is hella loud! .and also the floor can get icky. The bouncer never gave us problems or attitude. I’ve seen him turn one or two girls away prob for a fake id though.

Oh coco bongo. Typical nightclub in Elizabeth. Music is ok. Staff is RUDE. Parking sucks. Came here on a Saturday night with a friend and the drinks were ok. It’s always packed and you WILL have you drink spilled on your shoes.

The place is fine. Typical nightclub looks decent. Music is fine, bachata, merengue, reggaeton and other latin genre along with top 40 hits. If u know your house music, meaning… well coming from me the sound factory veteran. House music sucks at this place. As far for the service, bartenders, party hosts, bouncers, guys at the door etc and the people who attend you its horrible… I am not going to even start. Very very disorganized and very unprofessional. I understand that people make mistakes but they don’t even have the decency to say sorry and just really HORRIBLE. The men at the door are very very RUDE! I understand that you must follow rules and be stern by certain things. I had to leave the club for five minutes because I mistakengly left my cell phone. The men at the door were RUDE when I asked permission and he literary threatened me. I was so turned off! There are better clubs in NYC and better treatment.

Bring earplugs unless you enjoy tinnitus for the following 12 hours. Music is good, I always get dressy here, gets super crowded on Saturdays. I’ve seen some fights here and lots of policia outside. Once the line wrapped around the building so we didn’t even try to get in. There is def a dearth of latin clubs in north Jerz considering the huge latin population. They rotate Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, House/techno, Reggaeton, Pop, maybe some punta or other folky music. I like it, but it’s so far out there(Elizabeth, blerg) that I rarely want to deal with the drive. But every time I’ve gone I’ve had a great time and lost my hearing for a day afterward. Yay!

I mean the music was good so that is of the utmost importance. But there is no need, if you are from NYC, to go out to Jersey for this club. I was unaware that there is a curfew? for Jersey? so the clubs close early? It shuts down at 2am on a Sat. night(wack). Price is $ 20 for guys, not sure for girls; 21 and older. Drinks are cheap, compared to city prices.

Remembering those days while on spring break in Cancun and Coco-bongo ahhhhh, those were the days… Im was thinking that since coco-bongo is a trademark, this place must be from the same owners or franchise. After a 45 minute drive to NJ got to the place. From the outside it looks like its going to be a great night, hot girls, tight clothing, the line moves quick(unlike Talay in the city), door prices after 12 is $ 10 for women and $ 20 for the fellows. The interior of this place reminded me of Cancun, except that people were fully dressed… also the same feeling of a fire hazard when you pack so many people into a place that you can barely walk or dance… They have girls dancing on poles, is hot inside, they do the same stage effects as in Cancun, with the confetti and cold snaps of oxygen. The drinks about $ 8 a pop and not too shabby, nice areas for VIP and lounging. The DJ, who else but the Best(spanish) DJ Alex Sensation. I think he is the Best in the Tri-state Area. You are dancing to merengue and never noticed when the music changes to salsa or bachata. non stop dancing… Overall the place is great… lots of hot people and lots of dancing, you will surelly loose some weight dancing the night around in here…
