We visited 3 wineries on our recent trip to AZ and this was by far the best one. We are from Northern CA so we have a lot of wine tasting experience. The lady who served us was really nice and knowledgeable about the wines. She even went out of her way to acknowledge our 5 year old daughter traveling with us by offering her juice and giving her a cork that someone had turned into a little person. Our daughter was very happy to have this souvenir. As per usual in this area the tasting fees were a little high especially considering we brought our own glass, received a discount, and still paid $ 7.50 per person, none of which was credited toward a bottle purchase. We did buy 2 bottles and enjoyed our purchases. I really don’t understand why this area is so expensive with such high tasting fees. They even joke that they are better than Napa but are trying to emulate them with their high prices. This winery is one of the best the area has to offer so go ahead and check it out!

My daughter and I did a girls day out at their recent Harvest Festival. We had the best time! The people there(especially Monica and Aaron) were amazing! So hospitable, informative, and fun! They really made our experience more enjoyable! The wine was delicious(my fave was Arizona Sunset) and everyone took time to teach us more about wine and food pairings. The winery is super clean & the views are beautiful! The food at the festival was awesome and large portions… the vendors there were wonderful. We even took a wagon ride into the vineyard and learned so much! We bought several bottles of wine and it was reasonably priced. The people really make this a fun and special place… I highly recommend making the trip… its a beautiful road trip.

A great place to learn more about your favorite pass time: wine. My husband and I visited for the wine festival in July 2015. The people here are hospital, but more importantly, they understand that many of us don’t know wine like they do. The vineyard is a family business and you can tell they are passionate, but also very intelligent! It’s definitely an experience to come out for a festival.(Spend the money for the VIP service! !!)

Went there on a whim on a girls trip. They were so nice and informative. The wine was amazing. I normally am not a big wine person and certainly not dry wines but there were 3 drys I liked. It was so fun and beautiful! This is a must visit.

Another vineyard we visited that caters towards customer service because they close at 4 pm and when people walked in after 4, they still served them nice that they offer food&cheese platters that were cheaper than Kief Joshua’s but only available til 3 pm —peach on peach: champagne with kroger peach fro yo, not bad, we decided to try this instead of partake in a wine tasting lots of cute souvenirs & gag gifts for purchase NOTE: they have outdoor seating

We’ve been meaning to do a winery tour in this area for a long time — we only went to two vineyards as we had a toddler in tow — but we’re glad we made this one of our stops. The property has pretty amazing views, was well kept, and the wine staff was friendly and knowledgable. The wines we tasted were good, very drinkable wines(out of five I didn’t like one). We grabbed a few bottles to take home. We’ll be back!

Wow! Fantastic weather, Fabulous Staff and most of all the best wine I have tasted from this area. We have very mixed tastes in our family from VERYBOLD to Super Sweet and at Sonoita Vineyards they had something for all of us. We couldn’t believe they had some bottles for UNDER $ 20.~for hand crafted boutique wines I found this beyond a great deal! The staff also went out of their way to tell us about the other tasting rooms and other local wines they thought we would enjoy after getting to know our pallets.(Being from CA, and all the«snootiness» between vineyards we found this very refreshing and endearing.) Icing on the cake was they have a little black«chi weenie» that looks like an older version of mine ;) So sweet! Thanks for a great afternoon!

SOOOOOGOOD!!! The reds here are so unique and really tasty! We bought 3 bottles but wanted to buy them all. Their champaign was yum! We went to 3 vineyards and this was, hands down, our favorite wine of the 3. Make sure you hit this one up!!!

Made our yearly journey to Sonoita yesterday, and started off at this winery. It was a another great experience… not snooty at all, some really fun, unique wines, and great people. Love that they offer a few different tasting groupings so we can all find something(or a few things!) to enjoy. We always end up leaving with a case to take home since we can’t find these wines back in Colorado. Bottle prices are incredibly reasonable, and wine by the glass is a great idea and again very reasonably priced. Loved sitting outside with our picnic lunch enjoying their wine and the beautiful views of the surrounding area, loved the service, and can’t wait to come back next year.

The vineyard is in a beautiful setting with amazing views of the surrounding area from the property(although no real views while tasting inside). The staff was friendly and the wine was pretty decent, although if you’re a wine connoisseur you might not be that into it. You pay $ 10 if you don’t have a glass, and for that you get basically as many tastings as you ask for plus you get to keep the glass for your visit to the surrounding wineries.

This is our favorite vineyards in Sonoita. Service: The wine specialist here are very personable and knowledgeable. This past weekend we had a group of 8 and we were treated as if we were the only ones there. Between the 8 of us there were 3 different palates for the wine tasting, she handled us with ease and thoroughly explained what we were drinking and answered all of our questions. Atmosphere: Beautiful rolling hills with vineyards on a portion of them. Inside has a bar downstairs and a bar upstairs. The upstairs also has a deck to take in the view. Downstairs there are tables outside to sit at plus a picnic area. The wines here are amazing, they have a selection of red, whites, dry to sparkling.

Sonoita Vineyards is also one of those ‘must visit’ places in Sonoita. Located a bit south it sits in gorgeous rolling hills. The tasting room is huge and has an area outside with picnic tables(no problem bringing your own cheese or lunch). In starting out your tasting they give you a sample then move your tasting to either ‘light & sweet’ or ‘bold & dry’ and finish up with a specialty wine. Wines were great and the processing area was open to take a peak at how it is made. Great gift shop has ton’s of unique wine type gifts for just about anyone(including babies). Sonoita Vineyards has great events and festivals throughout the year.

This is one of the larger vineyards in the area, and they certainly have some amazing views of the country side. We actually skipped the wine tasting here, the gals I came with were interested in some shirts they sell and some locals foods that they liked when they came here previously. We did all opt for a glass of champagne with a hibiscus flower, which was delicious but for $ 9 a glass a lil steep for the very small serving that we had received. And the gentlemen behind the counter seemed a little snooty and not very welcoming :/I would come in here again though and give them another shot, and hopefully be able to update my review with being provided better service. Overall the place is very relaxing, find yourself a picnic bench outside and enjoy the vast Arizona desert.

The wine tasting was incredible! Very knowledgeable. Only wish is that they had stools to sit and try the wine. Standing during the whole wine tasting experience was tiresome, especially, when you make the long drive to get to the winery. Loved all the extra nicknacks you could buy.

I’ve visited twice now and always have a lovely time. Service and friendliness here are wonderful. For tasting, there is a decent mix of sweet and drier wines. Their MeCaSah, a lovely blend of Merlot, Cabernet, and Syrah is definitely worth your while. Enjoy!

Absolutely love this place! I took my mom here on my most recent visit. She loved it as much as I do. This winery is a bit out of the way — but I think they make the most wines and have the best selection of sweet vs. dry. I have to admit that I love the Peach Sparkles wine that they make here — I can easily have a bottle to myself! They also take the time to explain the wine making process and the different flavors of their wines — unlike some of the other vineyards that just pour you a glass and walk away. They are very involved in the tasting and making process. You can tell they really love what they do. They also have a ‘gift shop’ in the tasting room. Lots of wine accessories and t-shirts which are nice for visitors in town.

We went there today because they advertised lunch. Normally when you go to a winery they serve wine with lunch… not lemonade. It’s not really a restaurant, more like a super expensive lunch counter. Food was ok. We were kind of turned off so decided to skip the tasting room. Maybe we will try them again next time.

The first thing you should know is, I’m an avid red wine fan. The drier the better. I tested my baby wine chops on various Cabernets and never looked back. The second thing is, Arizona is not famed for reds. Having to do with the climes vs. the grapes, and lots of technical nerdy stuff I’m nowhere near qualified to school you on. Point is, in years recent, I’ve expanded my vino horizons, and have begun to slowly, but surely, appreciate the whiter side of the vine. And I could not have arrived at a better place to do so. The heavenly view here is only surpassed by the heavenly nectar! Seriously, try the Angel Wings. And the Sparkles Peach. And the Arizona Sunset. If I wasn’t a dessert(desert) wine fan before, I am now.

We love this place. We really like a couple of the wines which we bring home by the case. Also Fran gives a great wine pairing class. For a fair cost we had a 6 or 7 course meal, each paired with a different wine. This was a great class and Fran is very knowledgeable. We recently went back for the blessing of the vines which was also GREAT.

I found the grounds of this vineyard to be very charming, but the wine was not very good. I did a complete tasting, and thought most of the wine tasted almost like feet. I hate to say it, but avoid this winery if you’re on a time crunch. Their Rosso was pretty decent and they suggested serving it cold. I bought a bottle for the pure novelty of having chilled red wine. Their peach sparkling white was pretty good, but basically tasted like a pre-made bellini without brandy. The staff was very friendly and tried to educate us, but I really just did not like the wine.
