Really surprising how low some of the reviews are! Their Kung Pao Chicken is perfect in my book – loads of freshly cut peppers and carrots, tons of chicken, big slices of garlic, peanuts for crunch and the sauce is incredible. Totally satisfying every single time… I just never seem to tire of this dish here. The owner and family are great once you get to know them… if you can catch them in between their constant prepping of the always fresh food. Beats plenty of other carry-out options in the area.

This would probably be a 2 star review however they are the one of two of the only Chinese restaurant that will delivery to our house. Crab rangoons are good and they are the cheapest of anywhere. I am not a fan of their Tom Yum Soup so I won’t be doing that again.

I’m a fan of Mr. Wok. I go here every Friday for lunch. The food is made fresh and it ready pretty fast so I can get back to work fairly quickly. My go to is the orange chicken extra spicy. I’ve been also ordering the shrimp with vegetables for a bit healthier option. The food is consistently good, my one complaint would be the food is made a bit different every time. Since I order the same thing, I noticed the chicken will be crisper one week than the other and the spice level will also vary. The food is still good but when you are expecting extra spicy and it’s not, it can be disappointing. I’ve had quite a few things on the menu and haven’t been disappointed except for some of the soups. It can get busy at lunch so I’ve learned to go off peak(after 1 or before 12) or order ahead but that still can take a bit after waiting in line. The interior is nothing to write about but I usually take the food too go so I’d rather have the food be an higher quality. Good place to grab a great tasting, freshly made lunch.

This place was pretty good before but it’s terrible now. The service is horrible. I ordered kong bao chicken today and it was nasty. It was tasteless. It was just soaked in oil and soy sauce. Very disappointed. Also the lemon grass soup was just spicy and water down. It just taste like hot sauce and water. The worst thing is this is the second time I ordered soup to go and both times the lid of the soup cracked open because the soup is so hot when the cap it up. So I called to complain and the man said it only happens to me. Wth. First of all that Is poor customer service. Second of all it really happened. It’s really bad to put the hot soup in a plastic container. Anyways I will not be going back to this restaurant again. Bad service and the food sucks now.

Not bad, not exceptional. Among the reviews you can see a pattern of inconsistency(can you have a «pattern of inconsistency»?). I will say in our order, the general tsao’s was excellent and the teriyaki chicken was not good. The pot stickers had great filling, but a lousy outside. Just stuff like this makes me nervous about being a repeat customer. It’s worth a shot if you are in the area or need something in a pinch, but this is unlikely to become your go-to Chinese place.

Mr. Wok was just what I was looking for in a lunch on a nice summer day. I tried a chicken dish with fried rice– the lunch prices are great– I got two meals(really one, but portion was big) and a beverage for under $ 7– I’d call that a deal for lunch. The restaurant was clean, the employees friendly, and the food was good for the cost. I will definitely come back if I am out this way again for lunch– seemed like a good deal to me.

Can’t really give them any stars based on food as I didn’t have an opportunity I actually eat. Stopped there on my lunch break and by the looks of the 4 tables of people waiting not so patiently for their food, I reevaluated my decision. I didn’t have time to pay for food that I wouldn’t get to eat before my lunch break was up. No one in the place had food in front of them. Bad sign!

This place is disgusting! I just ordered sweet and sour chicken and it was tiny, old hard pieces of chicken. The sweet and sour sauce was as thin as water and had carrots in it. They have really gone cheap here and I will never order from here again. Thanks Mr Wok for making me food I paid for but can’t even eat!

One of my favorite take out joints. A little pricey but definately worth it, I recommend it to everyone living in my area.

We just moved to the area and have ordered from Mr. Wok twice(partially due to not knowing where any cooking items are and partially bc I’m lazy) and we had great meals each time. Delivery fast and service good. The first order they forgot an item. We called and they brought it over right away. Egg rolls were delish and brown sauce the best I’ve had. Would def recommend.

I came here because it is next door to Jimmy John’s which is around the corner from the Comfort Suites that my boyfriend and I stayed at. I had the veggie Spring rolls, that were very tasty and had a very nice dipping sauce.

Apparently the staff has no concept of time. I called in an order for myself and a couple of my coworkers and requested a specific delivery time. They told me that it would be delivered at the time requested. When it came time for all our lunch breaks, I was waiting for our delivery at the time previously agreed upon. 5 minutes later, nothing, so I called and was told the driver would be a couple minutes. 10 minutes later our lunch break is half over and still no food… so called again. This time when i called, I was told that they do not deliver when a specific time is requested.(Sorry, but what restaurant doesn’t offer delivery at a different time?!) I was then told that it was going to be an extra 30 min. By the time we would get our order, it would be old as crap! I had never had this issue before as myself and many of my coworkers have been able to order for a specific delivery time before without a problem. When I tried to cancel the order, the manager I was speaking with said that I already ordered so I have to take it. Honestly, more drama than they’re worth. Ps. Mr. Wok, Your food is salty as crap when you do decide to deliver it.

Ordering from this restaurant is always a pleasure. Why? Have you ever called to place an order with lots of little details, instructions or questions, only to have the person on the other end of the phone huffing, sighing, not confirming what you have asked, and in general«rushing» you off the phone? Well then you know what I am saying… it is down right rude! When you order from this family restaurant(Mr. Wok), they actually ask questions, clarify, repeat and confirm. Your order shows up just as you requested it. So if you are ordering take out and you want it right, give Mr. Wok a shout. Food quality, is it the absolute best? No… but it is really good and the quality is always consistent. Consistency is important. There is no point getting good food one time and then the next getting bad food, and then trying them again a third time only to find the food is good again. Talk about confusing your customers — who wants to gamble with their families hard earned money especially when everyone is hungry and just want something as simple as Chinese delivery /take out! ;-)

The food here is usually well made. Occasionally I’ll order in and the food is even more delicious lol. Idk how that happens. They forgot to put my egg roll in a delivery and over cooked my shrimp fried rice.

Hmm. 0.5 out of 3 is kinda bad. Like, 16.5% isn’t a passing grade in anything else normal people do, is it? I just wish I read ahead, that’s what Unilocal is there for, right? I thought of this place when I was leaving work the other day to go home, and was looking for some Tom Yum soup to pick up on the way home for my wife, and since this was the first time getting food from there, I figured I’d get some fried rice and egg rolls in order to more properly get a feel for the place. So I called ahead to order, and was told that the Tom Yum comes with shrimp(for $ 3.50? That’s a steal, right?) and I was able to get a Large combination BBQ pork and shrimp fried rice, that isn’t on the menu. 15 minutes later, I’m parked in front. I walk through the door, and a strange odor hits me, like a combination of grease trap/garbage disposal and bleach-y cleaning supplies. Ew. But I can handle a smelly place, I’ve dined in worse places, I’m talking roaches crawling across tables, waiters killing them with their hands and pretending they’re just giving the table a high-five. So the food gets home, and so do I. I take everything out of the bag to assemble them for eating, out comes a small tub of soup. a smallish-large paper box and the egg rolls in the wax paper bag. The large fried rice I ordered? A dollar more than everywhere else I get it, for a smaller size. What the heck. You know how you get a teeny box for a side of rice, and a big one when you order a large or family sized entrée at other places? This box is a medium, or it’s the small order of the same family-sized dish. It was not a large, and it was just okay. I’m always weary of peas in the fried rice, like there’s something not quite awesome enough about your rice on it’s own that it needed a frozen pea crutch to stand on. There was enough meat and shrimp, it just didn’t make me fall in like with it. I’d order it again, if I was starving. The Tom Yum soup. Ugh. I should have known better than to order Tom Yum from this place, a place called Mr. Wok. I asked for extra spicy, which made it extra oily with chili oil. A shimmering meniscus of grease on the soup, and a total of 3 shrimp. These weren’t prawns either. Nor were they jumbo. Flavoring of the soup consisted of salty. Missing was the sour component that shines in other tom yum soups. Made for the only thing to be edible out of the soup to be the shrimps and the canned vegetables, which still had the canned taste. Terrible. And finally, the crown belongs to the king of terrible, the Egg Rolls. These looked like the egg rolls you get at Panda Express, except Panda Express egg rolls taste better. Pale in color, un-crisp exterior, skinny, they had nothing going for them when I took a first look. Then I took a first bite. Flavorless filling, in great need of sweet and sour and mustard. Pretty sad about it, because there were two, and I wasn’t going to give one of these pathetic excuses of an egg roll to Mel, and I don’t like to waste food. Halfway through the second egg roll(I’m so glad I didn’t give it to her), I got 3 straight bites of gristle and fat chunks. The absolute worst egg rolls I’ve ever had in my life. For a proper primer on egg rolls, see Lily Garden in Algonquin, or Golden Crown near Riis Park in Chicago. It was the kind of dinner where I nearly called Domino’s delivery for dessert, you know what I mean? Hit up China Garden or Lily Garden, anything Garden.

After some rave reviews from people that live in our neighborhood, we tried Mr. Wok for the first time. We absolutely LOVE Chinese food, and the places we do enjoy don’t deliver, so we were hopeful to find our new favorite, since we learned that delivery would be available to our home from Mr. Wok. We stopped in for carry-out, and were greeted and handed a menu. We placed our order, had a seat and waited the 15 minutes til our food was ready. We left with our bag, anxious to dig in. Unfortunately it’s not our new favorite Chinese place. While the food was good, it wasn’t anything exceptional and the portion sizes are much smaller than many other Chinese restaurants we are familiar with. We typically have left-overs when we order Chinese food — this time my family ate every last bit. We had the sweet and sour chicken, pepper steak, House fried rice, egg rolls and crab rangoon. Sweet & Sour Chicken was good, though the sauce could have used a few more pineapple/veggie chunks in it. Eggs rolls were disappointing. Crab rangoon was good — crunchy edges, soft crab pocket center. Would we eat there again? Probably in a pinch if we didn’t feel like going to 1 of the 2 other Chinese restaurants local to the area for pick-up, as Mr. Wok is the only halfway decent Chinese joint around that will deliver where we live.
