Stopped in last night on our way home… perfect meeting place for dinner, lunch or even a small plate & drinks. Food is colorful & delish! Enjoyed the atmosphere, sax player was a nice surprise. Wait staff all friendly and kind. I love the small sections with arts and crafts, you can even take home fresh eggs & groceries or a bottle of wine! Totally different than the normal places around Elgin and Bastrop and oh so much fun!

What a great find! Yes, there is awesome cuisine on Elgin that is NOTBBQ. So worth taking a tiny detour off 290 for this fabulous place. Home cooked, locally sourced food and market that would be swamped if it were on South Congress in Austin. Fun, chic, delicious. We stopped in for brunch and all four of us loved our meals. Limited menu for brunch but so okay with us. Coffee to die for. Artwork and collector porcelain on the walls, local duck pâté in the fridge if you need that to go. Our new stop passing thru Elgin!

WELOVEELGINLOCALGOODS!!! My husband and I frequent the café for Sunday Brunch and stop in for local produce and grass fed meats from local farmers. The Buttermilk Pancakes and bacon are a perfect treat, the Biscuits and Gravy are like grandma makes — Fried Green Tomato BLT is to DIEFOR!!! Bailey is often our waitress and is warm, friendly and attentive(the whole staff is awesome) The walls and shelves are adorned with local artists works, if you can’t splurge on a painting — they have affordable prints!!! They have newly updated the décor and added a bar with an awesome Happy Hour! We can’t say enough about this little place — if your in town, or passing through, take a detour to 2nd and Main and pop in to this little gem!!!

Hooray for this new shop and food place in Elgin. Come here for an awesome lunch, dinner on Fridays or brunch on Sunday’s. Beer, local goods and awesome vibes. Support this place! We need more small businesses in Elgin like this. I’m excited for them to get more food to buy in the future.

Oh my gosh. Last week they had a fried green tomato BLT lunch special. I have been wanting another one ever since. Great food and a really cool shop.

We just ate lunch there and it was great, as usual. I didn’t think to take a pic of the lunch menu. We also will be going back this evening because they have started offering dinner — I think only on Friday nights so far. Be sure to call them to confirm which meals and what their hours are. I took a photo of the Dinner Menu and will look for where can post it. They’ve only had dinner a few weeks and they are adding items to the menu as they go along.

Truly wonderful lunch specials with quality ingredients– this place is many things all in one: a café serving coffee /tea, soups, hot & cold sandwiches, fresh salads, lunch specials and home baked goods; a market carrying tons of organic and local produce in addition to high quality pantry staples(note grass-fed meat is available in the freezer); interesting art and crafts plus antiques sourced locally; a sweet little play kitchen for the littles and lastly– it looks like they are building a bar area. We just moved from Austin and this place is really the kind of place we were hoping to find here in our new hometown.

I want to start off by saying how happy I am to see a local goods store selling high quality local products. Each time I go in the shop which has been 4 times we always leave with a ton of items. However I will say that my biggest complaint is how unwelcome I feel when I am there. No one has ever greeted me when I walk in. When I placed my food order the woman was very short and seemed bothered. My advice would be to work on their social skills and make sure to greet and thank everyone for coming in. It would certainly make me want to keep coming back instead of leaving there feeling like they don’t really want me there. I will be giving it another chance as I love supporting local businesses!

Recently a few stores in Elgin hosted a «sip and Shop» evening in downtown. What a great way to spend an evening without having to go to Austin. We visited this store that has all local produce, honey’s, baked goods(including lots of gluten free options), handmade items, even fresh mozzarella! They allow local vendors to sell their items on consignment so you can really find some neat stuff. I’m thinking of selling some of my crochet items there. They will soon be opening a café within the store and we are so excited to try it. The chef(I forget her name) was there that evening and I had some of the best caprese salad I have ever had. I couldn’t stop eating it! It’s going to be a small area of the store, but I hope that the food will be as good as that salad. Ever find yourself in Elgin? I highly recommend you stop and take a look around. You might even buy something that I made!
