Country Inn & Suites by Carlson-Elgin

Came here because my husband and I needed a night away from the kids and the whirlpool suite was reasonably priced. The room isn’t super fancy but amazingly clean, spacious and comfortable!!! The bed, pillows and linens were super comfy!!! The hotel itself is really nice with lots of amenities. I give the front desk a big 10!!! I really needed a charger and she let me borrow her own personal one!!! I would definitely come back for the next date night:)

I travel a lot for work and find myself in a different hotel almost every weekend these days, and this is a good hotel for the price. It’s in a really convenient location and the front desk staff is super friendly.
My room was clean, well laid out (spacious), and comfortable. My only complaint is not having very good blackout curtains (left a sizable gap) and my window faced the front of the hotel… Stayed relatively bright in my room all evening. All in all– I would stay here again.

Room was nice and clean, but very noisy hearing room above us. I was not pleased hearing someone so easily in the room above us.

I’ve stayed here during a few difficult times. It’s close to the hospital so I imagine they’re used to bring sensitive to the guests.
It’s homey, pretty small, not the Four Seasons. But they’ve thought their guest services through!
You won’t go hungry here! Fresh chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies at reception. Awesome spread at breakfast — it feels pretty college cafeteria style with all the options.
Comfy beds and cable. SUPER COMFY BEDS. Free WiFi. Super nice desk staff.
Gym has a few machines but does the trick. Jacuzzi looks ok, tiny pool. You’re not in Elgin on a spa vacation, so it’s there if you really really need it.
Staff are wonderful wonderful wonderful. They really enjoy working there and are extremely attentive. I had to keep changing my check out date and there way no attitude.
I highly recommend this place if you ever have to trek out to Elgin.

Great service during our family staycation. My son really enjoyed spending most of the time in the pool and he even tried out the exercise equipment. Was very pleased with the free expanded continental breakfast that was provided in the morning and the warm chocolate chip cookies in the evening at the front desk. Congrats to the GM and staff who had promptly taken care of a housekeeping issue with a bedroom light and provided us with some extra towels and shampoo/​conditioner.

There is limited options in this area. This facility is just not very clean. Bed is comfy but lots of random hair on the floor. Particularly in the bathroom.

During a recent power outage we spent a night here. Nathan at the front desk was very helpful, and able to get into the room earlier than normal to use the pool and laundry.
If in the Crystal Lake area you should check it out, priced much more reasonably than the Holiday Inn too.

Is this five stars like the Four Seasons five stars? Absolutely not. Is this five stars as in incredible value, quality product and very professional, warm and courteous staff? Absolutely yes.
My family has used this hotel as our base of operations during several crisis situations including a long illness and the death of my mom.
The entire staff was overwhelmingly helpful and accommodating to us on every occasion. They gave us great long term rates, rooms near each other and privacy as needed. The staff went out of their way to assist us with everything from forgotten toiletries to spare hosiery to replace a pair run on the way out the door, to taking extraordinary efforts to provide information to other members of our family upon arrival.
The rooms are spacious and clean and completely utilitarian. There were some decent amenities, including an indoor pool and whirlpool, laundry service and breakfast buffet. Shopping and restaurants nearby are plentiful and have something for everyone.
Located just off the tollway at Randall Road, there is everything from visiting businessmen to family vacationers to over the road truckers. This is a nice option, a warm and hospitable environment.
I will never forget the heartfelt, handwritten note slipped under my door by the overnight guest relations agent. I still have it.
