I work right next door to this place. At first I liked it. The food is decent if you don’t have the time to go out to lunch and u are über busy. The thing I am upset the way they jack up their prices on their non-menu food like candy and bottled drinks. I’ve had two coworkers experience this and the lady who runs the restaurant is completely rude. In both cases she kept raising the prices a quarter to 50 cents everyday. It also doesn’t help that there are no prices on these items. SHADY!!!

Café Nicole opened about 4 or 5 years ago, and at that time it was a breath of fresh air. It was right next door to our building. The restaurant that had been there before was a Trimana, and the previous owner was kind of a dick. We were glad when they were gone and Café Nicole moved in. And it was good for awhile. I ate there probably at least once a week if I didn’t bring a lunch, and we would often run over to satisfy our mid-afternoon sugar cravings. But then things went downhill. They got rid of their regular cooks and the new ones weren’t so good. And the new owners started getting mean too. On one occasion, on a particularly bad day, my blood sugar was low and I needed to eat. Out of desperation I went to Café Nicole. I was in desperate need of a fried egg sandwich, as it was the only thing that could possibly satisfy my appetite. Knowing that it was early afternoon and that it would probably be considered a breakfast sandwich, I checked their menus to make sure they did not have posted breakfast hours. No posted breakfast hours and they had eggs sitting there on their food prep counter. Perfect! So I ordered the egg sandwich and he said that it was not breakfast. I told him that he had eggs sitting right there. He said it was not breakfast so he could not make it. I said, «thanks for nothing,» walked out and vowed never to go back. Maybe I was overreacting because my blood sugar was low, but I was pissed. Shortly thereafter they were closed for a few days for a vermin infestation, so I was almost glad that I didn’t get my sandwich, but not enough to ever go back. I suppose it’s ok in a pinch, if it’s between ultimate starvation or eating at Café Nicole. But I don’t recommend it unless your life depends on it.
