Moonshine moonshine moonshine. Cozy place to have some drinks with friends. Bartenders were friendly. No complaints.

I went to the Pint & Peanut with my cousins and had a great time. The atmosphere was outstanding. The DJ was mixing hip hop and it was old school mixed with new — done in the right way. There are a couple games to keep you entertained(hook game and jumbo Jenga). The bartender was nice and attentive. The drinks were good. Overall, we had a great time.

First time going to the place. I was super excited due to the reviews. Get there and turned away at the door because they got shut down by the health inspectors.

Came in briefly on a Saturday night(Before heading to Dark Horse). Although our stay was short I am a fan of P&P. They have a tiny little patio if you want to go outside but their inside, although tiny, has a good amount of seating. Plus they have an interesting game where you swing a washer and try and try to hook it on a nail. Never seen that before. While we were there they had a DJ blasting a music. I suppose said DJ would be more appreciated if there was a good size crowd to go with it but at 10pm the crowd was still pretty light. Although I don’t remember seeing any type of dance floor. So the DJ vibe felt a little off based on the environment(tables everywhere). It was a little loud so conversations were kinda hard to be had(unless you went outside). Still, I liked the personality of the bar and the drinks were decently strong and not too expensive and the staff was quick to get you service. I’ll def be back.

Came in on a Friday to get some drinks before heading out to dinner. Place has a nice feel to it, brick and wood with earth tones. The four of us sat in one of the booths and the staff was polite and attentive. They weren’t busy so the bartender came out from behind the and talked to us. He provided his insight on several of the craft beers and also recommend one of the moonshine cocktails. One of the girls in the group isn’t a big beer drinker so she ordered one and boy was it good ! Clean flavors and not an overpowering taste of alcohol. Our next round we switched to moonshine and each of us got a different one to try them out . The bartender was attentive and all and all it was a good experience. If we found ourselves in union plaza again, we would go back.

I was there at Pint & Peanut the day they had their soft opening and their grand opening and I loved it since then. Perfect little bar in the middle of the El Paso club scene by union plaza. While all the clubs are blasting their music this place keeps it classy. The interior is nice and dim with wood tables and chairs. Recently they added the huge Jenga game which really gets people participating and talking. They have a great selection of craft beers but also craft beers on draft. Their specialty cocktails include flavored moonshine like the Front Porch Peach. They are all definitely worth trying if you like sweet mixed drinks. The moonshine shots are also delicious. The only thing holding this place back is the service. I’ve been there many times and it seems like the less busy it is the longer it takes to get a drink. Best thing to do is to order directly from the bar to avoid long waits at tables.

Stopped in here Sunday night around 8pm. We were the only people in there besides the bartender and his had rained all day so guessing people just stayed home. Very cool atmosphere, good beers, chill relaxed place to hang with friends. Had a giant Jenga game that looked fun ;)

Bottom Line up front: Not much going on in this bar on all fronts. If you’re stuck downtown, go to craft social instead. I can’t understand the other rave reviews on Unilocal.I went here with my girlfriend on a Monday night. The place was so dead; there were only two other patrons at the bar. I asked for a draft list, but they didn’t have one. The bar tender told me the beers… sort of. He knew breweries, but not actual beers. Also, prices weren’t listed. And they ran out of Jameson.

Went to a military ball and the Camino and after drinking and dancing we were all hungry and craving some bar food. We all got changed and walked a few blocks with no idea where we wanted to go. We stumbled upon Pint & Peanut and decided to give it a go. Our husbands ordered some drinks, while we ordered food. When we started asking the waitress questions about what was in the food she had no answers and sent a rando guy to our table to explain everything to us. Not sure if he worked there, or just ate there so much he knew the answers, but nice enough guy we let it slide. He took our order and gave it to the waitress. 30 minutes later, 4 cold burgers, 2 cold tacos, and a lot of cold french fries came to our table. The guy walked through the front door with our food too, so that was… unique. Food wise, the place is not the best. Reasonably priced drinks, chill atmosphere, good music, and good friends made up for it though.

We visted Pint & Peanut on Friday night, and it was a great experience! First, our visit was earlier in the evening, so we were the first ones there. That can be awkward sometimes, but the bartender was very friendly, and even asked us if we had a music preference since we were the only ones there. Nice touch! The selection of beer was extensive, and the moonshine mixes were impressive as well. Again, the willingness of the bartender to explain the more unique drinks and recommendations really made it more enjoyable. As more people started to come in around 6 or 7pm, it maintained a relaxed, hip vibe. They also have TV screens on the walls showing football/basketball games. Overall, it was a great experience, and I plan to return. Reasonable prices and great service. Nice place!

My favorite place in El Paso. After talking to the female bartender for a few hours and many moonshine related drinks, I ended up being kidnapped by five Army dudes and taking shots from a ski. My name was TJ that night. It was an interesting night… the rest is classified.

My boyfriend Aaron and I, stumbled upon this little piece of hipster heaven on a Saturday night around 9 pm. We had no clue what this place was or what it was about but decided to check it out since it looked like a good place to grab a drink. We immediately sat at the bar not really knowing what to expect. There were a couple of groups sitting here and there; it was rather early so we didn’t expect to see a huge crowd. There was plenty of staff ready to serve; all very friendly. The place was a good size with plenty of space to sit, including tables and booths. Miguel, our bartender, handed us a drink menu. Aaron and I usually drink dark beer so, of course, we ordered stouts. We noticed that almost everyone was drinking what appeared to be mixed drinks out of mason jars. We asked Miguel what they were having and alas the great moonshine was discovered! Keep in mind that i have ABSOLUTELY no idea what this is so I was definitely intrigued. Miguel was able to give us a little bit of a history lesson behind moonshine(having knowledgeable staff is a huge plus for me! Don’t give me your typical«uh– i just work here» guy). Aaron was a little skeptical about moonshine but managed to encourage me to have the first drink hoping I’d give him a good review and I am SO glad I did. I tried the Front Porch Peach Tea first, and it was delicious! I’m not a big fan of really sweet drinks, so this was perfect for me. For my second drink, I had the Blueberry Lemonade and, again, it did not disappoint. The great thing about both of them was that you could hardly taste the alcohol, which is crazy because moonshine is about 80 to 100% alcohol(please verify lol) so be careful with ‘em ’cause they’ll sneak up on you. Our bartender also gave us a «sample» shot of a moonshine concoction they were selling at the moment. If i recall correctly, it was moonshine made with Chile de Arbol and other delicious ingredients; It went down surprisingly smooth with a little kick at the end. To say the least, Pint & Peanut is definitely the new must-go to spot in Downtown El Paso. I guarantee you won’t regret it! Two thumps up for ingenuity and hospitality. Cheers!

I’ve been not so patiently waiting for Pint & Peanut to open its doors. I liked them on Facebook, I bugged the P&P workers every time I was shopping at the Mix, I followed them on Instagram(@pintandpeanut still haven’t posted yet though) and I asked anyone who is anyone who might know anything about P&P. Due to some bumps in the road, P&P had to push back their grand opening date to the 27th during the Thanksgiving Eve Block Party for Union Plaza. After seeing the bar rules on the side of P&P, there wasn’t a way in hell I was missing the grand opening. Unfortunately Ben, Andy and I didn’t buy tickets to the Block Party so we had to use James Bond methods to get in and after our small Odyssey inspired journey we landed in Pint & Peanut. This place is completely prohibition era inspired. I love, love, love it! Of course it has it’s own modern twists to it. It’s kind of brick and mortar meets industrial meets speakeasy. P&P has a wide variety of craft beers, a couple of ciders, wine and a full bar. But forget all that… Pint & Peanut serves moonshine! Yes, you read that right, MOONSHINE! And this is not that dangerous moonshine that was made in Billy Joe’s bathtub that will more than likely cause you to go blind, this is moonshine made from legit distillers in the south(around since the 1950 something’s). It’s f**king good! P&P was consistently packed all night so as you can imagine it was pretty loud. Everyone was talking, drinking, singing… just a good old pub feel to it. My first drink was the Hard Cherry Iced Tea. I didn’t even actually order this, but the cherry moonshine with sweat tea was so damn good I couldn’t complain. And beyond the flavors being flipping amazing they actually add maraschino cherries to this southern concoction. So why am I not docking for an incorrect order(besides it being the one of the best tea cocktails I’ve ever had)? Because the fault is mine… the drink I was trying to order is also made with tea and I only specified the tea part when ordering and it was loud and I was captivated by my surroundings so when the bartender asked, «The Hard Cherry Iced Tea?» I wasn’t really paying attention and just said, «Ya, ya, ya.» As much as I loved this drink, I needed to try something else… to get a feel for what they offered so I made sure to get my order right this time and asked for the Front Porch Peach Tea. Holy hell this thing was amazing! Sweet tea + lemonade + peach moonshine. I want at least one of these everyday for the rest of my life! The one thing I will say about these perfectly mixed drinks is they taste great so they’re the kind of drinks to sneak up on you. Drink responsibly! All of the bartenders were great. Loved ‘em, seriously. They all worked quickly and talked to patrons on their downtime. We ended up talking to two or three of the bartenders and one of them was nice enough to bring us over cherry shots. Cherry shots you say? What is a cherry shot? Not a drink… per se. It’s a shot glass filled with maraschino cherries soaked in moonshine! Good stuff, great stuff! *Food hasn’t been added to the menu yet, but they did let me know it’ll be added in the next few days or so. I’ll update my review once I try the food.
