One of the most tasteless dishes we had was the Pork Vermacille bowl. The food was bland and had no flavor. The restaurant was overall nice and clean, but that didn’t make up for the short comings with the food.

Stopped at Phở So for some chicken soup for dinner, when I entered the restaurant the lighting was rather dim. I received my soup and it tasted a bit bland so I took what was left in a container home. When I got home and poured the left over soup into a bowl I noticed a small bug in the soup. Eeek. I was so grossed out I throw out the soup. I not sure if the bug came from the soup or the bean sprouts they give you to add to the soup. Either way, it not a place I will go back to eat again.

My mom and I went in to have rare beef Phở and egg rolls. The atmosphere was wonderful everything is so clean and up scale. The server greeted us and had us have a seat. Our drinks were brought out very quick too. Our food soon followed after. it was not crowded but not empty either. The phở was very good! Everything was cooked perfect in it. The egg rolls were also good too! We deff will be back and I recommend this place to everyone!

If you want phở, this is bitter the place to go. Very little meat in the soup and the combination did not have all what was advertised. Something should have told me this was not a good place when the writing was in Chinese pronunciation.

I really like this place. I see Phở Tre Bien getting better ratings on Unilocal, but you have to judge phở by the broth(free of Sriracha and hoisin, of course) and the broth here is very flavorful. This is my favorite phở place in El Paso.

Spring rolls fell apart but flavor was alright. As for the vermecelli it lacked all flavor and was a weird temperature to eat.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. Not much to look at from the outside but inside was clean and décor was nice. Had rare phở Thai tea and fried spring rolls(other places call it by diff. names) Phở was good, I’ve had much better broth elsewhere but also much worse!!! Was not served with basil but the jalapeños cilantro and sprouts were fresh, and the meat tasted good too-not old. The Thai tea was great, and the rolls were delicious. Give this place a try!

No curb appeal, but everything else was great. The spicy Phở and eggrolls were hot when they got to the table and delicious. The server kept doing this little curtsy that was adorable. The décor is tasteful and surprisingly nice for the neighborhood. Bring a friend or a date.

Well Phô So? Fo Sho… I like this spot. Won’t sit here and lie to you and say it’s the best Phô I’ve had. I won’t sit here and lie to you and say it’s the best location in town… However, as far as quality goes, it MIGHT be the best, of the few, Phô places in the EPT. The area is kinda whack. Jammed in between a restaurant and a 24 hr laundromat, but INSIDE is actually rather nice. One waitress, place is rarely packed. Menu is to the point. Service is fast. Food tastes great and is a very good sized portion for the price. We’ve been twice and for sure will go 3 – 5 more times. We’ve been to a few, and for now, this is our go-to Phô place. Not too mention, they serve Blue Bell ice cream… How can you beat that? Anyways. It’s worth a check out. If you’re craving Phô that is. As feel free to go heavy on the Sriracha. I always do. First of all, the service was excellent. If this review were based on service alone the lone waitress would get four stars. And now my little rant… I have eaten Phở in more than one state; why the heck do the Vietnamese purveyors in El Paso put such a premium on their food? In a market where all expenses are less than Phoenix or San Francisco, in what world do these restaurant owners justify the prices? I am accustomed to Large bowls of Phở for closer to five than ten dollars; not in El Paso. It’s overpriced. Plus? The little Vietnamese baguette sandwiches that cost 2.50 in SF are nearly five at Phở So. The Small Phở I ordered came with rare beef. It was fresh. I’m not a big girl, a small should have contained more than enough noodles to fill me up. Not so. It was«Northern Style.» –so they didn’t bring fresh basil. Sadly, they don’t offer fresh lime sodas that most of the Phở joints I have frequented have. Are people in El Paso so desperate for any dish other than Mexican that they are willing to pay about 30% too much money for Phở? I didn’t hate this restaurant. I am just accustomed to better for less.

Decent place to eat phở in El Paso. It looked clean and the decoration was nice. They had one lady that was so mean but other than her I think the service was not so bad. They also sell blue bell ice cream inside.

Simply the best in town. Although there arent many choices in EP, Phở So is surely the best I’ve had here, and I’ve been to other 3 places in town. Compared to other vietnamese rest in larger cities, this one really keeps up, recommended.

Giving it two stars for 1) the cleanliness and 2) the nice waitress. The noodle soup wasn’t good. It had a very strong rosemary-like flavor. The worst part was the tripe. The tripe was smelly and squishy. They didn’t even warm the tripe up… they just threw a handful of tripe on top… cold, fishy-tasting, and mushy! The noodles were stuck together at the bottom(most likely sitting in the fridge for days). My husband’s vermicelli was hard(had a day-old chew to them). Maybe we came too early for lunch and they had to use last night’s leftovers?! I’m glad we at least tried it so we know not to come back. Just drive down Gateway/I-10 another minute or so, and you’ll find a WAY better phở restaurant ;)

I had a pretty positive experience at this Phở So location, the restaurant had lots of tables available, was clean and quiet, and the waitress was super nice and helpful. I accidentally ordered the wrong Phở(chicken) because I stupidly just ordered the last number listed on the Phở menu, which is usually the combination one, my favorite, but they changed the menu; lucky for me the waitress was able to get me a side of meatballs to add to my soup, so even though I didn’t get to eat my favorite, my meal was made great! She also brought me lots of limes, how great is that? I’m a fan of Phở So in general, I usually visit their other two locations more often, but I was in the neighborhood. The reason I like them so much is that when I first learned about Phở(the food) I was given the impression that it was supposed to be, for lack of a better word, a cheap but tasty meal, and the first Phở restaurants I visited reinforced that impression, which is by no means a bad thing, it was rather authentic. In El Paso, where we don’t have many Phở options, I feel that Phở So best embodies this authentic Phở atmosphere. A great example of what I mean is in the price. At Phở So, the Phở dishes are all under $ 10, and though I also like Phở Tre Bien, I don’t believe paying more than $ 10 for Phở is ‘authentic,’ though the difference isn’t tremendous. Another thing I really love about Phở So is the Charbroiled Pork Spring Rolls, which are delicious and I actually prefer over the more popular shrimp spring rolls. My recommendation is to get some Pork Spring Rolls as an app and then finish up with a big bowl of the #21(the combination Phở), not the #24(the chicken and shrimp), but if you screw up, they got your back! :)

I’m still uncertain if this place is called Phở So or Phở So 1 because I’ve seen it written both ways. Either way, it’s a good place to grab some phở at a reasonable price. So why not a higher rating? The menu as a whole and customer service could use a little work. I tried a couple of different things here and most were okay to good. Nothing out of this world, just exactly what I’d expect them to be. The Charbroiled Pork dish was not among this list. I’ve had Charbroiled Pork from a lot of different Vietnamese restaurants so I may be no expert, but I know a good dish when I taste one. If Tyson Chicken made Tyson Pork, this is what would be served at Phở So. It just had an unnatural taste and texture to it. Not very fond of it. While I ate my Charbroiled Tyson Pork, I listened to Show Me by Chris Brown featuring Kid Ink. Actually, when I walked in Show Me was playing and I thought PS was playing the radio. Weird, but okay. I’m not stereotyping, a Vietnamese restaurant can play whatever kind of music they want, but when you put so much work into the décor why ruin the ambiance with American hip-hop. The interior design really does do a good job of making you feel like you’re at least outside of El Paso. So back to what I was saying about Show Me. Shortly into my meal Show Me came on again. Huh? I’ve only been here maybe half an hour… if that. Then another song started to play and I noticed a server run over to the counter, push something and immediately Show Me came on again. There were families eating there with small children. I certainly don’t know what other patrons listen to when they’re in their car, but what I do know is Show Me is not the song you want to hear REPEATEDLY while eating with your family. And just in case you aren’t familiar with Show Me, here’s a snippet of the lyrics: «Baby let me put your panties to the side, I’mma make you feel alright cause I’mma give you what you need… I could tell you a freak, go show it. Lookin for the after party, where the door at? Go on the floor like a doormat…» I don’t even know what that last part means, but you get my point. Some servers where better than others. My server took my order and brought my food out, but I had to have other servers refill my cups and get the check. PS really just needs to set better guidelines for it’s employees. 3 stars because the phở is good and a huge portion. And really that’s what you’re going to Phở So for.

One star for the cleanliness and for being edible. One waitress, and not a surprising amount of customers, but maybe too many for her.(another two eventually showed up to help) We ordered Thai tea and ca phe sua nong. The Thai tea was very bland and watered down from the start, and the hot coffee was pre made in the kitchen(so I don’t know if it was fresh drip coffee or a pre made mixture). The drinks took more than 10 mins to come to the table. We ate the combination of the combination phở and a vermicelli with grilled pork and egg rolls. Both took a very long time, for a phở place, to come out to us. And after we got the dishes, we had to wait a few minutes for the phở veggies to come. The soup tasted like cloves and water. I don’t ever have the need to put anything but the bean sprouts, cilantro, and lime, but this time there was no flavor so I ended up putting extra sauces. The cilantro was very tasty. The vermicelli dish said egg rolls, plural, but only one came. We had to ask for the fish sauce And waited a few minutes for that as well. Overall, the flavors were bland and the service took too long. We waited and waited, with multiple attempts to get the waitresses attention. Eventually we just walked up to get the check and take out box.
