If I could rate this place lower than 1 star I would. The staff was kind, we ate at the bar since it was a crowded night. Our first dish, calamari was so tough it was like eating fried tire shreds. Our sushi was tolerable, it was fresh which is all I can pray for and ask for when eating raw fish. The rolls were tough also, not enough consistency to them. I enjoyed the water the best.

It’s been about two weeks since I went for dinner on a Wednesday night. As a disclaimer, I did go on the day where they have their sushi sale(super discounted selection of rolls with the purchase of drink) and I did arrive at around 800pm so I’ll give some leeway for that. But not much. Anywho, we arrive, put our name down for a table for two. The host tells us it’ll be a thirty minute wait. Not too bad for great deals and a late night. Thirty minutes turned into an hour and a half. The host needs to work on his time estimating. We would not have waited that long if we had known. One good thing is that they had several televisions around that were in easy viewing distance. I did get to watch the dark knight while I waited, which was nice. Finally get seated at a small, raised table next to the stairs. The foot traffic around us is a minor annoyance but worth noting. The table barely has enough room for both of our sets of rolls and drinks. Another disclaimer, this place is small when you consider the sizable crowd that was here, so I can understand the use of such a small table, however, it was still uncomfortable. To save time, we grabbed menus while we were waiting for our table so we would know what to order right away. Our waiter swings by, we give our order in its entirety: three sets of the discounted rolls each, for a total of six, and two drinks. Our waiter walks off with our order. We wait. And we wait. And we wait some more. It’s been about thirty minutes by the time our food comes out. We’re starving by this point. I notice one of my rolls has not been brought out. Apparently it was forgotten. Waiter runs off to put it in again. The most noticable thing about the rolls is that they lack fish. They tended to be mostly rice with a sliver of the featured seafood. It now makes sense as to how they are able to have such low priced sushi. Drinks were okay. My date ordered the same drink twice. The first was weak. The second was stronger. We joked that the waiter added more liquor since he knew we were getting fed up. We scarf down our food, we’re so hungry. We’re annoyed with everything by now. I flag down the waiter and ask for the check. He mentions that last roll. I say I don’t want it anymore and just want the check. He brings our check and comments how he took that last roll off the bill. That comment is the final straw. He was doing me a favor by not charging me for a roll that HE forgot?! I’m so done with this place by now. We pay and happily leave. Never again. Tl;dr sushi lacked fish, service was poor, low prices weren’t worth it, tv was nice, never want to see this place again.

My wife and I go to this restaurant at least once a month on Wednesday for three dollar sushi rolls and there is always something with the service the rolls are good but whether we wait for a beer to our food order second through our check we are always waiting on something for over 15 minutes. Tonight for example we went we waited 45 minutes for meals then the soup that was ordered at the very beginning with our drinks finally came out after our meals I had to go to the bar to get my own drink because the waitress was nowhere to be found then I also had to go back to the bar to get refills for water and napkins because we could not find our waitress great rolls terrible service the management needs to step their game up if they want to continue clientele

Second time here and the bar is extremely slow. I ordered an Ultra and literally 32 minutes later my server tells me they ran out of Ultra. Disappointed.

Went for the«3-Dollar Roll Deal» on Wednesday — walked in — were told to sit wherever we’d like. Sat by the window on what felt like cheap lawn furniture, not something meant for constant use in a restaurant. We wait to have our orders taken. Somebody that is not our server comes up and asks if we’d been served — we say no — she takes our drink order. We get the drinks in a timely manner. Then another person(presumably our server) asks us what we’d like to order, We order 5 rolls. He doesn’t write anything down, he goes to the kitchen then proceeds to make drinks in the slowest manner possible for other customers. We watch a waitress struggle with splitting a check for 3 gentleman for 20 minutes. The server that took our order probably wouldn’t know how to look like he had a sense of urgency unless he was on fire. The woman that took our drink order was sneaking bites of pizza behind the bar while the whole restaurant was waiting on SOMETHING — be it a drink, check, food, sauce, everybody seemed to be looking around wondering where their servers were. We wait for about 40 minutes before wondering where our food is. Our drinks have been empty for about 30 minutes. We notice people that came in around the same time as us have already paid and are leaving. At this point we ask where our food is — they tell us they’re «trying to figure that out.» Probably the worst service experience I’ve ever had. Either the servers need to figure out how to wait and serve tables properly or management needs to treat this place like more than a place to hang out. Maybe you should hire people with some actual customer service experience — when you hire your friends or family they just make the place look lazy. I’d only go back for pick-up, I’d never waste my time inside there again.

3 pm on a Sunday. Great service, but we were the only ones there. Giant tv blaring a football game, although we asked them to turn it down, it was still way loud and annoying. The crab is the fake stuff, the rolls were bland, and the actual fish portions were skimpy. Nice enough, but will not return.

The sushi rolls on Wednesdays are the best! Especially because their $ 3 special allows us to sample all of them! It’s a shame however, that their service is not up to par. My children and I have been here four times and every single time, they take forever to get anything done. If it wasn’t for this flaw, I would give this place five stars!

Bad service. Only one waitress/bartender. Good rolls but always something with service.

My girlfriend and I liked the place. Service was excellent and the food tasted superb. I enjoyed the variety and their twist on Sushi. The borderland was really good. The day we went they had Baja Tacos for $ 1 so We orderer them too and loved it. For dessert we had churros with caramel dipping sauce and I loved them. I really like the drinks. I recommend the Coronarita and the AMF. Will definitely come back.

My wife and I love this place! Easily some of the best sushi I have ever had and definitely the best in El Paso. The borderlands roll is a must have and the panko roll is amazing! They have worked out the kinks in their service over the past couple months. We go at least twice every month and more often if we can.

Good value… Bad quality!!! Talking about both the staff and food. My fiancé and I came on a Wednesday and was asked to sit at the bar when there were other tables available, but we’re being saved for people who were not present. The appetizer took 15 minutes at the bar. And waited another 30 minutes to finally get a table. After we sat down a huge group walks in that gets a table immediately. We order a few basic rolls and wait another 45 minutes. Oh and throughout our 1.5 hour dinner we only received one refill, even after asking.

Some of the best sushi I have had in El Paso. Would recommend the pirate roll and the aloha roll. Service was attentive and helpful. Rolls are decently priced. Would love to go on a Wednesday when they have $ 3 rolls.

The atmosphere was bleh… there was only 1 server who served as everything in the house from hostess to making drinks and there was only 1 person preparing food. They were overwhelmed with 6 tables, after about 20 minutes after my order went in I received my appetizer, took 15 minutes for my water to be re-filled, food came out(2 rolls and fish tacos) about 35 minutes after the order went in. The appetizer Shrimp tempura was okay, would have been a lot better had it been hot vs. luke warm, the borderland roll was good, the El Paso was also okay, the fish tacos were okay as well. The place just had a dead feeling to it, coupled with a lack of staff it is going to make people not come back :(

Very best sushi I have ever had In 9 countries and half the states. I went here for lunch and came back for dinner the same day(the only time in all my many, many years I have done that) and will surely visit next time I’m in El Paso. The owner-waiter Nestor recommended the Borderland roll – my mouth is still dancing for joy! The only reason it doesn’t get a 5 is the spirits were too light-handed on the grog and need more practice, but the food and service parts were SUPERB!
