I’ve been a regular here for the last year. The food is always consistently good. Grilled salmon tacos are my favorite, but the southwest soup can’t be beat.

I’m by far not a fan of fish but I got to say this place wowed me! My husband and I both had a blackened fish sandwich which included homemade fries. I highly recommend if you’re in the area. It’s a hidden gem located inside Cristosomo Burritos where they rent out a space.

First time and won’t be the last! Ordered fish & fries combo and a small bowl of clam chowder. Fish was fried, perfectly. Crunchy, not greasy and plenty of fish. The clam chowder was excellent! You can tell it is «home made» when it has the right amount of clams, potatoes and seasoning. Not too thick and not too soupy, just right for a cold day! Top it off with excellent service, great combination. Definitely recommend!

Why haven’t I eaten at this place any sooner?! This gem was a bit hard to find! It’s actually located inside the Crisostomo building. The sign for«Mac’s Place» is on the side, if you bother to look! I had their Fish and Chips meal deal, which the meal deal includes the cole slaw and a drink, and one slice of their homemade cheesecake. I opt for their sweet tea drink. They put a ton of ice in their tea, thus the sweet tea was not THAT sweet(like how Raising Cane’s is), but it was refreshing for me. Adding the meal deal adds $ 2.50 on top to a $ 6.99 plate. I believe the cheesecake was around $ 3. Overall, the price was not too shabby. The whole meal was absolutely satisfying! Everything was delicious. The battered fish was definitely crunchy, moist, and flavorful… every bite had a bit of crunch in it. Unlike the beer-battered fish you would normally see in a Fish and Chip plate, Mac’s Place delivers a different kind of batter that I have not seen before; it’s chunkier, mosaic, and packs a hard crunch. As different as it was, it was amazing! The crispier the batter the better! But I must say, the pieces are bit small than what I’m used to. The fries were good, but not grade. Can’t really comment on them, but they were good and complemented the fish nicely. The cole slaw sauce was the bomb! I really wish I had more cole slaw because the sauce they make is on point. Last but not least, the cheesecake was SODAMNAMAZING. I was floored! They probably make different flavors, but I got a pineapple cheesecake and it was just creamy, chunky with pineapple fruit, and a sweet gritty graham cracker crust… what a delight. Their cheesecake was the perfect ending to such an awesome meal. Overally, the meal was awesome, the portion perfect, and better than what I imagined. I honestly cannot wait to come back and try their blackened fish tacos and fish sandwich… they have other food here too like shrimp and chips, clam chowder, po boys, shrimp ettouffee… i mean it all sounds deeellisshh. Oh, and I know now that I cannot leave this place without ordering a cheesecake! That is a must!

I finally found Fish and Chips that i can actually recommend to people! I honestly can’t count the times I’ve been to Crisostomo. They are hands down my favorite burrito place in all of El Paso. It might be biased but just being able to have the same burritos i used to have while i lived in Juarez is awesome. A long while back they opened up two extra spots inside of the building for different types of food. One was a taco place that was sub-par and expensive(at least for my tastes) and the other was Mac’s Place. I always saw it so lonesome in the corner and would at times see people get food from there. But for some reason or another i never did the jump to try it out. Friday came along and i was hurting for some fish and chips. I usually just buy some fish and do it myself since most everywhere i have gone has just the most disappointing fish and chips i have tried. From franchise places(Applebees) to dives to a couple of pubs, fish and chips just didn’t taste like i remember having when i used to go to Cali. When i got there i quickly went to see if they offered them, lucky for me they did! for about 9 bucks you get the«meal» which includes some cole slaw, a drink, and the fish and chips. Placed my order, gave my name and went to go sit with my little crew of misfits from work. They quickly began to devour their burritos, when they called my name from Mac’s. I get it and something looks… good. The fish itself seemed better than any fish i have had here. The batter was crunchy and cripsy, but not full of oil like at other places. Their fries looked a tad on the bleh side but to my surprise were really good. I sat down, opened my tartar sauce and began my journey to fishdom. The fish was white, fluffy, hot, delicious, cute, a variety of complements you would want to give fish this one deserved each and every one. But sherman! you are rating them 4 stars! what gives! Easy peasy, i’m getting to that. Maybe my mistake was not getting just the fish and chips and a drink, i was not expecting a slaw to come along with it, but since it did i identify it as part of the fish eating process. The slaw although good, was a tad too sweet. It honestly felt like it was supposed to be my after meal dessert than an extra side to the meal. Perfection was there, and Mac’s missed it by that much. Overall guys i plan to come here as often as i can during lunch and try out all of their other goodies(i’ve already heard their shrimp cocktail is pretty legit). Fish and chips= 5 stars! cole salw= 3 stars. For a grand total of 4 stars! Yay Mac’s place!

Have tried several different plates from Mac’s place and they never disappoint! The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. The owners are nice and friendly. Its inside of Burritos Crisostomo which can be confusing when trying to find it but once you go inside you can tell there separate. If you haven’t tried this place i highly recommend it you wont regret it!

I’ve eaten here twice now, it was great both times. The owner is friendly and seems sincere when he makes sure I enjoyed my meal. The sampler plate I would call good. The blackened salmon, clam chowder and the shrimp cocktail were all wonderful.

Mac’s place is definitely a hidden east side treasure! Went in for the first time today, could not have been more pleased! It was 5 star all the way, beginning with the customer service. Our meal was absolutely fantastic!!! My fella and I had clam chowder and blackened fish plates for under $ 20. The chowder was to die for, creamy and light. The blackened fish was flavorful and perfectly flaky! Props to the cook, no doubt! My plate was served w/wonderful mixed greens tossed with cranberries and almonds then dressed lightly in oil&balsamic. My dude opted for the fries, which were fresh cut and fried amazingly crisp! Mac’s place ROCKS!!!

We LOVE coming to Mac’s Place! Everything’s fresh and anyways delicious. The chowder is unreal, can’t find better anywhere. Costumer service is top notch. Today for example; we walked right when they were closing(5pm) but we were still served great food and with big smiles. We had to take it to go bc the building was closing, nothing to do with Macs. On cold days like today, nothing his the spot like their amazing chowder!

Coming from California I was skeptical about eating at a seafood restaurant in El Paso. Fortunately I was extremely pleased. The tuna was delicious as was the cod. Our kids loved the fish and chips. Will most defiantly return. Great prices!

Just a the name implies, Simple. Not an overloaded menu, nothing fancy. The food is good, but not a 5 star establishment. 5 star for me is white linen and impeccable table side service(Ruth Chris), not plastic flatware and cups. Backend chicken was great as well as the shrimp cocktail.

The southwest soup was a fresh surprise. A delicate balance of shrimp and fish. Lots of avocados! Rice hidden on the bottom. My family had the fish and chips, good fillets. Fries were great.

I typically only drive-thru Crisostomo, so I hadn’t been able to check out Mac’s Place(Inside Burritos Crisostomo), but I had to do some work next door, so I decided to dine in. First thing you should know, is that it is not all Mexican-style seafood, which is what I was expecting given the location. I was craving a shrimp cocktail, and I found out they made it with horseradish sauce, which is more of the American-style shrimp cocktail, and unfortunately I don’t eat horseradish. I was glad I asked before ordering, but the folks here are super friendly and helpful, and they made me a shrimp cocktail with clamato, hot sauce, and lime, the Mexican style. It was pretty good! Check in before ordering, as they have a Unilocal discount, unfortunately I didn’t check in until I sat down to eat, so I missed out on the discount this time.

I went here for the first time last week and the food was great! They had large portion sizes, I had the blackened fish tacos that came with a side of rice. Then I finished off with the pineapple cheesecake. Everything is fresh made to order and the seasoning is great. Great food at a great price, nice to see people from the El Paso community branching out and selling«fish and chips» rather than just the typical mexican food you might get here in El Paso. I highly recommend.

We had the fish and chips which were pretty good along with the tarter sauce and coleslaw. The strawberry cheesecake isn’t anything to write home about. The server was absolutely friendly and courteous. I will come back of I am in the area.

This is just a small store front in a much larger(garish orange Mexican/burrito themed) building, like something you’d see in a mall food court. Nothing wrong with the food, but people giving it five stars are smoking something or sleeping with the owners. A useful bit of variety in your local comfort and fast/convenient food rotation, but not a real restaurant to get excited about.
