The concept of building your own stir fry is pretty cool, but my husband and I didn’t really care for it too much. I would say it’s worth trying though.

Stopped by for dinner – We liked that you can mix-n-match your food here, but we’re newbies so it didn’t turn out so well. Obviously any sane person would try to cram as much food into their bowl as possible. I mean, more bang for your buck, right? Too bad my stir-fried noodles became a slopping salt bomb! Yeesh! There was just too many seasonings and I was in greedy mode. Between the salt, dragon salt, and the two sauces the waiter«advised» me to pick… the food was just inedible. Thankfully, the cooks were nice enough to make me a plain portion of noodles on the side so I can dilute. Your food can be pretty delicious if you: 1) don’t season with BOTH dry spices/herbs and sauce, pick ONE and 2) don’t listen to the waiter – one sauce portion is enough. You can always add more… you can’t undo what has been added. So, I’m giving Genghis Grill 3-stars. I know it was partly my fault that the food was inedible, but I’m no seasoned chef. As a profesh business, you gotta have more directions about HOWMUCH seasoning/sauces I should add. Maybe some signage?

The food here was amazing! Great service is always a plus. People were polite and helpful. Had a wide selection of meats with many different sauces to pick, choose, and even mix! Definitely coming back!

Not having endless bowls is a problem. Not that I need several, probably two at most, but the whole point of this is to experiment and try new things but there is a lot more hesitation when I know I only have one shot. I might as well go somewhere and order something and have a professional make it who really knows what goes well with what. And no eggs, how do you run out of eggs at 8pm on a Saturday. Pei Wei across the street was taunting me.

Dinner here was perfect for our family last night. I get to pile on all my veggies, husband fills his bowl full of chicken and steak, my picky kids get to put exactly what they want in their bowls. I like the noodles and the rest of the family got fried rice. Everything in the«line» looked pretty fresh and the food smelled good as it was cooking. I took off 1star because the service wasn’t up to the same standard as the food. I was so thirsty the whole time, and it’s not like the place was that busy where the server couldn’t see that I needed several refills. Also the server snatched my credit card off the table before I even saw the bill. I had it near my bowl, but I still would liked to have seen the bill first. Overall you can’t beat less than $ 10 per person on a meal that filled us up.

The only reason its 4 stars and not 5 is because I wish it had a few more sauces options and all you can eat. Otherwise, great spot for any time of the day, lunch or dinner. Lots of choices, great friendly customer service! It was our first time so the waitress gladly walked us through the experience on how it all worked and the environment was great while having my toddler son! They even had a great selection for him on the kids menu. Definitely will be going back!

First & going to be my last time here. It took 5 min for someone to help me. It would have probably would have took longer if I didn’t wave some down before I walk out the door. The atmosphere is dark & gloomy. I didn’t know who was my server till it took another 5 min till she came by to ask me what I wanted. The server was friendly. The food is good, I got the Thai street noodle & the garlic citrus edamame with«legendary iced green tea«. It was no big deal,

I love gg wherever I go. A couple tips I’ve learned are to salt, pepper and garlic any bowl, whatever you are getting. And don’t mix more than two sauces unless the third is garlic water. Can’t go wrong.

Meh. The Las Cuces location had great service so I’m thinking we’ll stick to that one. Food was pretty much the same — taste is prone to user error. Tried the firecracker scallop recipe(don’t add fish! Gross) and I wasn’t über excited, but that was completely my fault for going off script(fish was not in the recipe). Like I said, user error. Oops! But! Adding steak was a-okay. Service was standard, not OMG shoot me, not whoa-awesome. Perhaps a little *le sigh* with a side of *eyeroll* though. Waitress made it a point to only give us the little white to go containers, because the nice plastic black ones are for to-go customers only… not for customers that are dining in and expected to tip 15−20% for service and experience. It’s probably not a big deal to most, but it’s so hard not to compare to the Cruces location that was super friendly and accommodating. It may have also been because the waitress gave us 2 little white boxes for one dish instead of one larger one when one of our bowls was not going to fit in just one(which we brought to her attention before dirtying the first one up). Annoying, but I suppose it’s good portion control — yippee. Overall it was alright. Fulfilled our Cravin’ for Asian which was the goal I guess.

You are picky on your meal? Don’t worry Genghis Grill is where it’s at! This place lets you pick whatever kind of veggies, seasonings, meat, and sauce on your bowl. If it can fit in your bowl, you can get as much as you want. So you can adjust the size of your meal. That’s good for me too. As an Asian person I really can’t eat normal American size meals. Also, you can mix their sauce and make your own favorite sauce. When you get everything, you can pick either you want rice or noodles with your bowl. You can also add eggs. Tell what your want to your cook and they’ll cook the bowl and bring it to you. Of course it tastes good. It’s got everything you like. Only negative thing about this restaurant is it could get pretty busy and you’d have to wait so long for your meal. For the amount of meal you get, I think it’s cheap too.

I reviewed this place once in Little Rock, Arkansas… now across the Wild West we hit it up in El Paso, Texas… I found it to be exactly the same. Quality of food, price range, timeliness, wait staff… etc etc. So instead of basically writing a mirror review, just scroll my feed and find the one I wrote for here from Little Rock. I promise my opinions and comments on the place haven’t changed one bit. But to sum it up… fair price, decent tasting food, plenty of food(as in you wont leave hungry)… Try it out. Its a chain place, semi-fat food. dont go in there thinking Geghis Kahn himself is gonna start attacking the Great Wall of China and sh*t … Well that, and I dont think Genghis kicks it in the EPT… never know though… keep your swords at the ready.

Tonight was our first visit to the GG.(A friend of mine always comes to work with leftovers and raves about it, so we decide to try it out.) I was a little worried about how this works, since we were taken to a table first. That was to get our drink orders and established with instructions on how ordering works. We were walked through step by step and then got started. We piled as much meats and veggies and added seasonings as high as we could! Took our trays down to the grill and turned in for cooking. About 5 – 10 minutes later one by one our bowls were brought out to our tables. What I especially loved was that they had scallops! Now they were the smaller sized ones, but still scallops. Delicious! At the end of our meals, we still needed about four to-go boxes! Everyone’s meal was quite different, overall everyone enjoyed their concoction. Will definitely be back another time.

It’s not my favorite stir fry restaurant, but still pretty tasty! They have a decent selection of meats and veggies, as well as the choice between noodles/rice. The service has been friendly the two times I’ve gone in, and generally not too busy. If you’re not sure about sauces, ask! Shame to not like your dinner over that!

Love this place! Love that you can put what you want, and as much as you want! Plus you can try the sauces before you choose. Staff was good, but they are all over the place.

I love the restaurant BUT not the one in El Paso. They didn’t have someone to greet you. Staff was running around like headless chickens. I did notice they didn’t have much business. Wonder why? I would have given them no stars but had to give them one for a review. I hate to see the restaurant close due to bad management

There have been some resent changes. There are now 3 bowl sizes to choose from, so that is much better. Also, they now have electronic table menus to order and since the staff generally sucked that is an improvement. BUT they no longer have shrimp and the chicken is now cooked instead of raw so it will be twice cooked and rubbery, not so cool!

Genghis Grill is basically a Mongolian grill. You’re given a bowl that you fill up with veggies, marinated raw meat, herbs, and sauces of your choice. Then you hand the bowl to the grill chef and he cooks the contents on this circular grill. It’s fun watching them toss your food using those sticks. Your food is delivered to your table once its done cooking. No MSG’s here either and believe me I made sure to ask the table attendant AND the Chef. There are also little recipe cards that you can follow if you going for a certain flavor. The cards tell you what veggies, meats, spices, and sauces to place in your bowl to achieve the«dish» your looking for. Genghis Grill is a fun place to eat and it’s conveniently located off of the 10 fwy. I heard it now offers a bottomless bowl option but truthfully I would be stuffed off of one. At least that option is available for those«hearty» eaters though :-)

I’m updating my rating based on the fact that they now offer the bottomless bowl option! I like to think my review made a difference, POWERTOTHEPEOPLE! text of my original review: In my eyes Genghis Grill has always been a 4-star chain, my favorite Mongolian, so it is very important for me to explain to you why I only gave the newly-opened El Paso location 3 stars. Don’t worry, the food is good, very much on par with all the other GG locations I’ve been to, and I’ll always maintain that if your Mongolian dish doesn’t taste good, it is YOUR fault. The ingredients available all looked to be fresh and of good quality. Here’s where they lose an entire star: No Bottomless Bowl. WHATTHE F#@K?! Every other GG, nay, every other Mongolian BBQ restaurant in the world, offers you the option to pay a little extra to access all-you-can-eat; HOWDARETHEYNOTOFFERTHATINELPASO?! It is seriously messed up, it discourages you from trying new things and puts entirely too much pressure on that first bowl, which you are now obligated to jam-pack with ingredients in order to squeeze some value out of the deal! The big wigs at corporate need to come down and lay the smack down on the El Paso location and add the Bottomless Bowl option to the menu, I was extremely disappointed.

I’ve never had Genghis Grill before so I have no basis of comparison to other Genghis Grill restaurants in other cities, but I enjoyed my food immensely. I like that it is no hassle, food service was quick and that it was a healthier option than most other restaurants. I also like that you get a silver bowl to fill with your veggies, meat, spices and extras — but the carbs(I highly recommend the Udon noodles) are not counted in this bowl space. Those are added later when you give the cooks your bowl with goodies. When you give them your carb choice(white rice, brown rice, fried rice, spiral noodles, udon noodles), you can have up to 2 different carbs. With regards to the Endless Bowl, while it doesn’t seem to be advertised like other Unilocalers have said before, it is true that it is still offered. I know because I asked. For me, one giant bowl of food was more than enough. The only thing is that with the Endless Bowl, you cannot take the leftovers home, whereas I was able to pack up the leftovers from my single serving to have for dinner later.

I have been a fan of Genghis Grill since it’s early years in Dallas(before franchising) and have enjoyed the various locations throughout Texas as they have grown. Each and every location I have been to has lived up to the same quality of service that I first experienced 20 years ago… until they opened an El Paso location. I have been waiting for this to happen for years, hell, I even looked at the franchise myself, so when they finally opened, I was ecstatic. That’s where my excitement ends. I’ve been twice and both times experienced poor service, servers with no personality and staff who really don’t care about their work. Not to mention. I hate the stupid thing with the cards… I don’t see why the El Paso location has to try and re-invent the wheel. No other location uses those stupid business cards with the names. Its a waste of time. Also, they take such effort to try and provide allergen awareness and keep you safe, but their employees don’t even know what ingredients are in the food. Since going gluten free 8 months ago, Im pretty good about knowing what I can eat, but I really wanted to know if the Udon noodles would work for me or if I needed to stick to rice. I asked the guy at the grill and he had no idea… his response«I have no idea, they just come like this». Okay. Train better. hire people with personalities. create a better vibe!
