Great place to pop in for lunch and a beer. The food is fantastic and more than enough. We could have shared a one of the big plates and been full. The waiter was great. We chose to sit out on the patio which can sometimes be a gamble with service. He made sure to check on us and was prompt with drinks and ordering.

Great food, nice patio, and very relaxed atmosphere. Good selection of craft beers. I enjoy their fish tacos, ask for them grilled. Service is very good. Be sure to ask for tastes of the beers if you’re not sure.

This is one of the few places I will go back to on a somewhat regular basis. They have a legit craft been selection and I’ve personally never eaten anything here that I didn’t like. It has a nice open feel to it and I almost don’t feel like I am in El Paso when I am here(Now that’s kind of a good thing!)

I travel to El Paso for business often and I’m kicking myself that I haven’t tried this place sooner. A coworker and I strolled in just before they opened and we receive a warm welcome. We were headed to a big event and needed some sustenance and a place to get some work done. Our server Fiona was friendly and attentive, brought us 2 cups of coffee and fired up a batch of chicken friend bacon in a jiffy! Holy chicken fried bacon! It was delicious! April the bartender was hilarious and kept us entertained, she gave us the skinny on all the drafts and bottled beers. They have an extensive selection of craft beers, a full bar and great mimosas. I had the BYO omelette and my coworker had the short rib hash. We devoured both plates in a matter of minutes. Everything was wonderful. Just when I swore off El Paso as the town with mediocre food and bad service, I found a gem. I’ll be back!

Needed a patio and some brunch on this partly cloudy Saturday morning/afternoon. Found Block– table and tap. Cute, shaded outdoor seating covered with faux grass. Garage style door opens between bar and patio for easy access. Not crowded ATALL for a Saturday afternoon(first choice was another brunch spot, but it was way too packed). Waitress stopped by instantly, brought out some water while we deliberated the menu. Ordered coffee, hot tea, and a Strawberry Pimms Cup(strawberry, cucumber, mint, ginger beer –delicious and refreshing), then Cuban and fries, and Breakfast Waffle nachos. The Cuban was pretty standard for a cuban, but toasted perfectly. The nachos were odd, but overall pretty good, and WAY too much for a gal to finish. I’d recommend sharing that one. As we were finishing up, the sun decided to make its presence known and it was time for us to go. Otherwise we’d have stayed for a couple more drinks. I’ll definitely be going back for round two sometime.

A friend and I wanted to just wanted to have a few good beers and catch up while our wives had a women’s night out. We decided to go to this place since it seemed to have a good selection on tap and was not as loud as other places. Had to admit great selections on tap. Very attentive and friendly waiters. Had appetizers which were very good. Want to go back and try a full dish.

We stopped here by chance and were already planning our next visit before even leaving! We had the Tuna ceviche which was amazing! We also had the hummus plate and the bar nachos. The hummus was good with nicely grilled bread, cucumbers and olives. The bar nachos were huge with braised short rib meat and beer cheese. My husband loved them. We were talking to the people at the table next to us and they said everything on the menu is great, fresh, and locally sourced. I highly recommend this place.

Good food, awesome drinks, I don’t understand why they are basically empty for brunch on a Saturday morning. The drink menu was the stand out for me, very much enjoyed my Side Car, can’t wait to go back and try some of their other drinks– especially the Moscow Mule. They also have mini bottles of Prosecco with your mimosas. The food was delicious. We started with waffle nachos. I didn’t expect actual chips or nacho cheese based on the picture, but they was a full layer of tortilla chips and nacho cheese(good quality nacho cheese, not movie theater nacho cheese). It had big chunks of waffles with the slightest sweetness, big chunks of quality bacon, and big chunks of avocado which I loved. Be warned, they also have big/medium chunks of yellow onions that I didn’t like much. It was very filling, we got an order for the table to share and we couldn’t finish it. Also, some bites were spicy but overall it wasn’t a spicy dish. We got an order of the beignets and chocolate, the beignets were biscuit-y ad dense. The chocolate was really dark chocolate, so overall it was a very rich dish. I recommend ordering a french press of coffee($ 6) rather than the regular coffee($ 2.50/glass). The one big problem was they were completely empty from 9:30 — 11:00 on a Saturday. Really this is not a complaint, but I kept wondering if I was missing something because the place was dead and the waitstaff was all on their cell phones. The patio looks beautiful, can’t wait til it warms up so I can eat out there.

I’ve been here a handful of times with my girlfriend via her Unilocal find. With the exception of one minor problem with a bartender/server(I won’t sit at the bar/in his section ever again) the service has been excellent. Warm and welcoming, friendly staff. Modern industrial motif. I love their poblano Mac and Cheese! Excellent margaritas! These days it’s difficult finding a good margarita. I make it a point to stop at least once when I visit the El Paso area.

Great atmosphere on a Sunday! Perfect place to watch football grab a beer and eat some delicious food. I had Wells banana bread beer and their potpie. I was pretending it was actually Fall in El Paso. The potpie was a very generous portion with a side salad. However, the broth was a bit too watery for my taste. The food was flavorful I will definitely be back to try someone their other dishes.

Ok, so I had to lower my rating. Not because of the food. Because of the service. Ok, maybe it was because we sat at the table before the outdoor seating in the back. However, I’m just being nice with that thought. It took 15+ minutes to get a white wine & a beer. The head in the beer was gone, and the beer was 1−½″ below the top of the glass. My wine was a bit warm. Our food came out shortly after our drinks. I ordered a burger topped with a fried egg & poblano peppers which was rather tasty. My husband had the Cuban Mojo wings & Meatballs which were as good as last time, though much smaller in size. I will go back to try them again. If service is as bad as this last time, I will say good-bye to this restaurant. There are too many other restaurants that have great service & good for me to waste my time and money!

I arrived during dinner time and saw on the menu that the Chicken Fried Bacon wasn’t on the menu. I was sad because I’m on a roadtrip back to Texas. When I asked about it, the waitress was just like, no worries, we can totally still make it. So… YAY!

An updated review for Block has been long overdue. And because of Block’s consistently good for and warm service, I think they’ve definitely earned the final star. I love myself a good Sunday brunch spot and among my list of EP Sunday Brunches, Block is nestled comfortably somewhere in the top 5. Price wise they’re aligned with the area, but their presentation and options blow everyone else out of the water. And don’t get me wrong, Block is an A+ when it comes to lunch and dinner too. Just recently some of us Unilocalers met up for brunch and honestly I couldn’t think of a more perfect place for it. Service is more at a leisurely pace(not because the servers don’t care, but simply because your food and drinks aren’t made until ordered) which makes me always feel like I can take my time and even linger after I’m done eating. I don’t think they do the exact same specials every week, but as far as I can tell sangrias or mimosas are always on special. Both are quite good and I love that the mimosas are served with your own personal OJ and champagne. #Fancy. The sangrias differ week to week based on what fresh fruits are available, but they always come out tasting and looking fantastic. Did I mention they’re vegan and veg friendly? Their food is mouthwatering good. At this past brunch I ordered chicken fried bacon for the table and I think our group had mixed reviews on this. While I’ll agree that they could’ve used a thicker bacon, I still absolutely loved what I was shoveling into my mouth. It comes with ranch and syrup on the side. Perfection! It was crisp and even the batter tasted like it had been infused with bacon grease(but somehow it wasn’t overly greasy). I’m the kind of person who would ogle over deep fried butter, so my love of crisp breaking may have played into this greatly… either way I thought it was fantastic and a great shareable for a table. There are a few things I still haven’t tried like the chicken and waffles and after seeing a couple of plates of it, I know that’s what’s next for me. But u have tried enough to know you really can’t make a bad choice here. Anytime of the day. The BLT is a favorite of mine, but the Apple and Fig Press is pretty damn good too. The burgers are just YAAAAS! If you’re feeling kinda sweet, go for their homemade cinnamon bun… it’s loaded with salted caramel. Honestly it’s all delicious. A little pricey, sure, but you’re definitely getting quality eats and drinks so it’s well worth the price.

This is one of those places that is definitely a hype machine. People I know are constantly raving about how awesome this joint is. Since I like to be contradictory, I was thinking this place would be a bit overrated. However, my crew dragged me out here kicking and screaming for Sunday brunch. In order to get me to open up my mind, I was ordered a pick me up… a mimosa. They serve it to you on a platter with a mini carafe of OJ and a personal bottle of Proseco. They adorn the glass with a blackberry on the bottom.(Which, I found unnecessary, especially since I almost wore the drink as I tried to get the berry out mid first glass!) Not to be out done, I ordered myself a mule. Ginger beer, vodka, lemon lime soda served in a tin cup that reminded me of the prank dribble cups back in the day. I was determined to finish the drink without spilling any, so I drank it the manly way: through the supplied tiny straws. Both drinks were good, the latter strong, and next time I go, I’ll try a spicy Bloody Mary. As kind may have mentioned a few hundred times in prior reviews, I have a thing with food being the right temperature, which is what dropped this rating down one star. While the rest of the table was eating chicken fried bacon(carnivores!), I comforted myself with a salted caramel pecan cinnamon roll.(I think I remembered all the words to it…). Although not a fan of cinnamon rolls usually, the caramel piqued my interest. This was a rich, buttery, sweet roll. It was so decadent, I could’ve foregone the next part of my meal. The only thing that would’ve made it better is if it were hot. Some parts of it were lukewarm, but buns like these should be piping. In regards to the aforementioned bacon, the rest of the table seemed to enjoy it, but most agreed it tasted more like the batter than the bacon. Perhaps a thicker cut or different cure to the bacon could have remedied that. For my actual meal, I got a arugula and mushroom breakfast pizza. I missed the part where it said there were going to be eggs on it, so I was surprised to find three well seasoned, but again, lukewarm, scrambled eggs on top. They tasted on point, but overpowered the rest of the pie. If I got it again, I would ask for the eggs over easy or on the side. The rest of the pizza was quite tasty. The crust was crispy, the mushrooms had texture and didn’t just dissolve, and the arugula added just a hint of pepperiness. Anything, the star in my mind was the cheese. To break it down, would I go again? Yes, but not for brunch. There were so many things on the regular menu that I would’ve ordered, but weren’t available on the brunch menu. Service, food, drinks and company were all A+.

After the initial onlaught of trying as many places as I can in El Paso, I have started to settle into my rhythm of preferred locations. Block is definitely my go-to favorite place in town for food and drinks. Their cocktails are always solid, the staff is amazing(shout out to Felipe and Hope), and I have yet to find a bad item on their menu. Their fish tacos are massive and amazing(my favorite fish tacos in town thus far). They also have a pretty amazing brunch on Sunday that is worth checking out. It can be a tad pricey but I think reasonable for what you are getting.

So we had a nice Unilocal Brunch here, and it was perfect. Smaller place(but with ample outdoor seating) out on North Mesa adjacent to Hoppy Monk. The ambience was very nice. High tables and chairs or lower more traditional seating. Open floor plan. TVs playing sports(a must for me) and a full bar. Wait staff was friendly and talkative but not too intrusive. All in all I enjoyed the«feel» of this place. We met for brunch, so we were given the brunch menu. Now I’ve never ate here before, but the pictures show they over a Cuban sand which. Must be a dinner thing. I will be back for it. Brunch menu was two pages, but full pages, with all sorts of delights. My wife ordered some kind of burger, and it looked delicious. Me? Well, I was just about sold on the smoked salmon board… Buuuuut then I saw it; fried chicken and waffles. There’s no way ever I can pass that up. The chicken was a large boneless chicken breast, and fried like chicken fried steak. Came with a cup of white gravy to dip in, of which I killed the entire thing. The waffles were, well, waffles. Fluffy, warm, and came with maple/vanilla syrup. Destroyed the entire plate. Would’ve ate two, but had other plans lol Our amazing resident Unilocal employee(Tanya) that threw this gathering together, ordered everyone(on her) an appetizer of chicken fried bacon! Yup! Giant strips of bacon, with that oh so delicious chicken fried crispy batter. Comes with ranch or maple syrup for you to dip in. A must try. She also ordered everyone a mimosa. The presentation was great. Mason jar of orange juice, small personal bottle of champagne, and a nice champagne glass with fresh berries in it. Delicious. Another must have for brunch. I really enjoyed this place and am really excited to go back and try their lunch/dinner menu. I WILLHAVETHATCUBAN! Das it mayne

You have got to love the Block! I remember when this place first opened up and I was pumped after the first visit! I knew this would be a staple place to go and hang out. The atmosphere is great and the décor is modern chic! Lots has already been said about this restaurant, all accurate and with excellent points. So I think my review would be focused more around their lovely selection of wines and their vast variety of plates that can be shared. Ordering one of their larger, sharable social plates makes me think of some European restaurant where you can meet up with friends for a great bite, good drinks, and awesome conversation. We’ve gotten the block board and a bottle of wine and it was perfectly matched by our awesome waitress. The block board was a collection of cheeses, breads, meats, and cucumbers… we’re not olive people :-) The cheeses were 3 different varieties: Gouda, goat cheese, and one more I can’t remember. But they were all tasty. The meats were a salami and another cured meat that was equally flavorful, lending a nice salty mix to the plate. This was perfect for our appetite and lasted throughout the entire night/bottle of wine. I think my forgetfulness lends to the fact that the bottle of wine is equally to blame. When it came to the wine, we asked our waitress to recommend one and to bring two others for us to sample. Technically all three were great but the waitress’ choice was by far the best and matched up perfectly with the block board! Can you say extra big tip!!! hahaha The name of it… well as mentioned before, being one bottle deep for me makes the hamster upstairs go to sleep. But I’m sure if you ask your waitress she can give you an excellent recommendation. Overall, great food choices, abundant drink options, awesome environment, and very knowledgeable wait staff… what more can you ask for in a great night out!!!

Okay, I’ll be honest. I wanted to hit up the Hoppy Monk for a burger since it was one of my ELP burger bookmarks. There was no parking, it was packed, and I decided to go elsewhere. Well, elsewhere got me here to the Block, Table, & Tap. There was plenty of parking, the place was quiet compared to HM, and yes, they had a good looking burger on their menu. BTT is highly Unilocaled in the ELP with over 30 reviews. Hah! This is something I have to get use to when I’m out here. Living in Vegas and in California twice a month, I’m use to a places being Unilocaled 500+ times. I will just have to start the trend out here and Unilocal the ELP whenever I’m here. I was immediately greeted by Vanessa G, who was also my server for the night. She was pleasant, gave me a few suggestions, gave me her favorites on the menu, and seemed to go out of her way to check up on me every time she walked by. She did this with all of her guests as well. She suggested the burger and it was delicious. For $ 9, you get a decently sized burger and fries. Toppings are another buck in case you wanted to know. I had mine with a fried egg and cheese. Taste and quality reminded me of Bachi in Las Vegas. Yup, it was that good. I need something to chase down the burger so I ordered their fish tacos. For $ 9, I got three fish tacos that were crispy, the cod was flakey, and for a place that’s land locked, surprisingly fresh. Most people come here for the drinks and they do have a lot of them. But don’t ask me my opinion because I don’t drink. I’m glad that I stopped by the Block, Table, & Tap for dinner. I was craving a good burger and got it. I wanted to eat somewhere that would be quick and got that too. Overall, I am a fan. For next time… –Their lobster mac –The chicken and waffles –Weekend brunch that includes their brioche French toast, waffle nachos, and even beignets
