Still stuck in El Paso due to weather. Anyway. I have eaten there several times in the passed week. and I have to say. this does not seem to be your average Applebees. the service at the bar, in the hightop area(David kicked@ss) has been wonderful… everyone very attentive… servers that would not taking care of my table, walking by asking if I needed anything, grabbing my soda and refilling it… Nice, very nice job. Every time I have been in, I have seen the manager walking around talking with customers, we have made brief pleasantries each time I was in… She is out front constantly, paying attention to business. she checked on my table when I got my app, entrée and desert… And before you ask… i started with the onion soup… VERY impressed, Butchers Meat and Potatoes… this really impressed me. perfectly prepared, presented very nicely… and then because i hadnt eaten enough already. the Banana cheese cake with Cracker Jacks… I didnt get a damn tattoo in the bag, friggin rip off. Anyway… these folks are doing a great job here. Thank you for paying attention to your customers my friends, Big ol Ugly me

Ok, I actually gave this Applebee’s a 5 star rating. However, the last time I came with my mother I had an issue with my salad. The chicken was so cold. I was confused because I always get this salad. I was told that there was a party going on and the waitress thought maybe that chicken was used on my salad. Weird. But ok. Mistakes happen. I didn’t update my review at that time. Now, yesterday, the family and I went to eat dinner. As my other posts have shown, we are pretty consistent in ordering the same thing. I ordered my beloved salad. I order my salad. Again, cold cold chicken! What is going on??? I guess I’ve always attested to liking the West better! The manager never came to say sorry. Waiter, Emilio was on point with the refills. However, he failed to notice I didn’t eat my cold chicken after complaining. Ummm, FYI, the Oriental Chicken Salad come cooked fresh not cold. Perhaps the manager should tell the chef, le sigh.

My food here wasn’t the greatest and the water did not taste very good at all. I had the brew house chicken that was a strange dish. I was very surprised cheese was on it and brown gravy. It would have been much better with country gravy. The food also was not very filling. The staff was very kind and one employee even walked me to the restroom areas. The entire place was very dimly lit and there was only the depressing blue from the copious televisions to light the restaurant. Way too many tvs there. Everywhere you looked was another tv. Have we really become so bad at enjoying one another’s company at a meal that we need to have tvs in our faces at all times?

Ordered a steak with cheese shrimp cooked medium. It arrived, so I asked for gravy for my mashed potatoes. It arrived fresh from the refrigerator still cold. When I cut into the steak it was rare. I mentioned the cold gravy so the waitress promptly apologized and brought another at room temperature. The manager came over to help, after explaining, he offered to redo the order. A new cut of steak arrived still dripping with blood. I waved to the manager and showed him, he apologized and said he would fix it personally. The third time it came cooked correctly and was very flavorfull. The waitress and manger service was 4 star, very friendly and accommodating. But the kitchen only 2 stars for preparation.

I ate here several times over the course of the week and found the experience to vary from visit to visit. Service was good or ok… food was as expected(for the most part) but something is very off here. The manager is at every table for every person on every visit. They also print out a phone book for your receipt and try to get you to do the survey. Listen, it’s clear you have a problem and you are trying to figure out what the hell it is. The main problem is that some of the young ladies in this place act like their at their girlfriends house instead of at work. Do I want to look over and see them braiding each other’s hair? or putting on makeup on the floor? The manager walked right by this kind of behavior… The service suffers because of this kind of thing… and it just doesn’t look professional. I’m also confused why you don’t assign staff to a section, then rotate people through them. Why do I see a different server at each table in a small area… this is not efficient or effective. Get it together!

To start we go in we tell the hostess for 4 please and a booth if possible 3 times and she was just staring at me. Than we get to the table and it’s still dirty. Our server was rude, was looking at me and my family as if we were dumb and ignored us for most of the part until of course when it’s tip time she acts nice. Just horrible. The one star is for the spicy shrimp. It’s good.

My first trip to an Applebee’s was in the Houston area more than 20 years ago. I tried that one two or three times and was not impressed. The food back then, at least at that location, was«cookie cutter.» I hadn’t been to an Applebee’s since, until now. After finishing a grueling drive from LA to El Paso I decided to give the chain another shot. There were three restaurants in front of my motel. I walked into one of the other ones and it was extremely loud; not what I wanted after a 12-hour drive, so I quickly exited. I was in the mood to have a drink with dinner, so I skipped over the Pizza Hut next door and gingerly opened the door to Applebee’s. They did a good job. The waitress was polite and helpful. I asked her whether they undercooked or overcooked their steaks. She told me they undercooked them, so I ordered the 12 ounce ribeye, medium. It came out perfect — between medium and medium rare, just the way I like it. It had a nice smokey flavor on the outside and was very tasty. The veggies were okay. The garlic mashed potatoes were very good, but could have been warmer. They weren’t so cool that I felt the need to have them reheated. I had a long island iced tea before dinner; it was good. I had a nice glass of Cab with dinner and they even opened a new bottle for me when I said I wanted to make sure the bottle had been opened that day. They thought the already-opened bottle they had had been opened that day, but they weren’t certain, so they took the extra step. Maybe I was easy to impress on that particular day because I was so stressed, tired, and hungry, but I really think they did a good job on this meal. I’m not giving five stars because the mashed potatoes weren’t as hot as I like them and they played a lot of rap music. Too bad more people don’t like rock and roll. I guess I’m going to run into that a lot more in the future as the boomer generation has less relative influence. Good thing my ears are getting worse all the time, so the rap music might not bother me so much as time goes on. One other thing they should do is include some craft beers in their beer selection. Although I ended up having a mixed drink and some wine, I reviewed the beer list and it looked a lot like a list from ten years ago. I’ll probably stop at the same motel again next year and I’ll certainly give this restaurant a shot again, unless I’m going through pizza withdrawal or something.

We went it a little before 10pm after driving all day, just wanted something small like soup & salad. When finally getting a clean table the server informed us they just dumped all the soups out(they advertise kitchen open until midnight) asking why they would do that so early she could not give me an answer. At this point I would think she would inform manager what the kitchen did but instead as the manager was walking by after we already done witg our meal, I asked him and he said they are not supposed to do that, and did offer to see if he could go make me some(after i was already done with what i ordered) he did say ask for him next time and make sure I would get a meal from him, I told him we just passing through so wont be back. At this point when the check came he did not adjust anything off? Why offer me a free meal next time, then knowing i wont be back not give me at least a discount? Top it off when we left the 2 hostess way to involved in a personal conversation to say goodbye or thanks for coming in. Not a good experence at all!

Horrible service, dirty tables, and horrible food. Applebee’s always had at least decent food and service… Not here! We had to ask three times for a glass of water. I ordered a margarita at last call, the waitress gave me the margarita and told my I had to drink it as fast as I could or they would take it from me… What?! No just no

This is probably one of the worst Applebee’s you can visit. During my visit, we received an extremely long wait for our food, we were rarely offered refills, the food we did receive was gross, one plate was covered in oil, the other was waaaay overcooked, our table was full of emptied drinks, the manager was unprofessional. Just save yourself the trouble and don’t come here. Go ANYWHERE else, you’ll be more satisfied.

For the sake of maintaining a ladylike composure I’m going to stay away from specifics and keep this nice and pilthy. I’ve given this place three chances and each time was disappointed and frustrated to the point of what I hope were someone else’s tears. They cannot for the life of them get an order in the evening or night correct and for your own sake don’t order take away dinner from them unless you’re ready to waste your night watching a human circus of incompetence. I’ve been told this location underwent somewhat recent renovations… and it does look nice and pretty much identical to every other, but the lack of(even moderately) intelligent service and subpar food renders the work pointless… I won’t even get into the mischarges and how utterly impossible it is for the people at this location to remedy. I nearly forgot to mention each of my three visits here I witnessed different chubbily couples arguing just outside the front entrance… I’m learning you can tell a lot about a business by its patrons. Based on that alone I should’ve known better. Unless you’re just hoping for a place to drink, avoid this location.

First off, every Applebee’s I’ve ever been to has had this undeniable stench as soon as you walk through the door! Pleasantly to my surprise and nose, this one didn’t smell like vomit and beer farts! Kudos! Secondly, I visited them on Veterans Day for my free meal, the place was clean, food hot and delicious, unusual from any other Applebee’s I’ve ever frequented. I usually have to send my entrée back because it is cold or gross, but not this time. Staff was friendly and didn’t hesitate to accommodate. And the thing that blew me away was watching one the bartender’s making a Bloody Mary. After salting the rim of the glass, she took the extra step to hold the glass upside down and wipe out the inside of the rim with a bev nap, clearing put the excess salt. This all to commonly forgotten sign of competence let me know that the bartenders of Applebee’s are worthy of any drink order you could throw at them, and i will the next time I stop in. Great lunch! That is all.
