I had the #21, beef stew something something. The soup is very tasty with a nice beef flavor. Portion is not big but enough. The iced coffee is strong as most Viet coffee. Good price! Friendly service! Definitely coming back!

Great depth in flavor and really affordable prices. I ordered the bun bo hue and my husband ordered the phở. we also got an appetizer plate with a bowl of rice for my daughter. My husband got a Thai ice tea and I got a hot tea… Including our tip, the bill came out to $ 33. The parking lot was really small and its really easy to miss this place since the signage isn’t that big either. I was able to find it because of one of the Unilocal photos of the outside. We drove down the side street thinking we could go into the lot that way but we couldnt… it was a one way street so we had to make a uturn then drive into the front entrance. When you walk in, they have you seat yourself. They come by to take your order and drop off the food so if you need something, you have to wave at them or just go up to them. I cant wait to go back to try other items!

Food is great; phở is great, egg rolls are great, papaya salad is awesome, made with papayas from their tree out back, so not always available unfortunately. Workers are great and so friendly. This place is way popular and packed most of the time. Parking is literally 8 spaces. Wait time can be quite long. Place is tiny and tough to walk through. Paying is difficult when you are taking an order to go as people and tables are crammed right up to the counter. Now we do drive-bys and only go when it’s not crowded.

This is my favorite phở place in San Gabriel Valley, better yet this is my favorite phở place, period. Portions are big. Prices are great. Service is even better. Always satisfied. We’ve had a variety of items from their menu, all were equally delicious! Phở dac biet, bun bo hue, bun rieu, bo lac luc(? Filet mignon pieces with red rice) were all spot on. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat if you’re close by and having a viet food craving :) Only complaint is that they could use a little less msg in their soups, but I’ll chug a gallon of water if I have to in order to eat here :)

OK, I don’t have much time for reviews but my family and I ate here today, we won’t be back. The food was not what we expected. I have phở on the regular, I’ve had it at various places. I hate to say it but this place did not hit the mark by far. My wife and I are regulars at a phở place about 4 blocks down. We decided maybe we can give a try to another local phở establishment. We went on Unilocal,4 stars, pictures looked good, let’s give it a try… We had the chopped beef with the rice you see on most the pictures here. very bland, The rice was a bad version of «spanish» rice(I’m mexican) I would have preferred white rice. We had the # 2 soup with thin sliced beef, brisket, tendon, tripe which I love but the soup was not burning hot like I would expect to receive my soup. The flavor was bland. I received the basil but no bitter herb I am usually accustomed to getting with most phở(if you are Vietnamese you must know what I am talking about, I don’t the name of that herb)… I’ll cut it short… The place I usually go to is always busy, this place was not. I’m mostly upset because after so many reviews I feel this place should actually average 3 stars at best not 4. That’s why I tried it, it had the best average rating with the high volume of reviews. I am sorry to the owners but in truth I will never be back again. They gave me a sauce for the beef and literally it smelled exactly like sh! t(I’m not exaggerating, exactly) I love vietnamese/Asian cuisine, my sauce should not have smelled EXACTLY like sh*t. I’m so sorry The people were very nice I can’t help it, the owners should take pointers from«phở hai» right down the street. The Unilocal rating on this page is very deceiving. …

I got the shaken beef and don’t understand all the hype around it. It was okay, but not something I would come back for.

Wow found a great Phở on Unilocal near my new place. Was craving for noodles so I decided to get phở. The Phở was amazing, Phở haven’t tasted the same to me ever since 3 years ago I visited Vietnam, but I was impressed by the food here. Came here during lunch hour, and it was extremely busy. The parking was full and I had to park down the street. like 2 minutes walk, which I didn’t mind. The services was a little bit slow but totally understandable due to the number of customers at the time. The price was pretty cheap also. I will try out other restaurants in the area, but I am sure I will come back to here again.

Phở-holic here. Quick review? 7⁄10 on the phở scale. To be honest I’m going to have to try it again. It’s serviceable, but there are definitely better places in the area. My friend got the #60 that everybody seems to be crazy about, and I totally understand why. Their meat is tender and juicy and they give you SOMUCHFOOD. If you didn’t know any better, you might think you were in Westminster. There is a parking lot, but it has maybe 8 spots total, so you might end up having to find street parking.

Came here to change up my normal phở routine and wow! It was so delicious, everything tasted great and now my boyfriend and I have decided that this is the new spot Highly recommend, also to mention the employees were super friendly and accommodating.

When asked to find«quality vietnamese restaurant» in El Monte, Unilocal does not fail. We were seated promptly and the food was brought within 30 mins. Three things that stood out: 1. Authenticity, 2. Quantity, 3. Price. I look forward to coming again.

This is my to-go place when my family is too lazy to travel far for food. It has decent food, but the meat portion for phở is small.

Extremely friendly staff, atypical of most phở restaurants. The phở broth was full flavored, welled seasoned and meat tender. Staff was showing me new ways to flavor my broth, mind browned with the marrow oil and pickled onions. Staff also has great sense of humor, probably has surpassed my old phở spot.

Came to this establishment to eat phở here twice. It was fine. A lot of people rave how they give such big meat portions but I don’t necessarily see that as a good thing since cheap doesn’t equal quality. The bowl of phở is quite large… however not much of a difference between the small and large size which goes for $ 1 more. It seems to be a very popular place when I came here this past Sunday. Too many families brought their babies here and let them run amok. It was too rowdy for my taste as there are so many other places I can go to eat at instead.

The portions are huge! We were in the area for business and had a craving for some Vietnamese food, used the Unilocal app which led us to this place. I didn’t look at the pictures but reading a few reviews from the Unilocal friends, we decided to give it a try. For a Saturday afternoon the parking lot was entirely packed which was probably a good sign, we ended up parking in the street. Luckily there was one booth available when we came in. Everything on the menu was priced at $ so we decided to order several different items to try such as the pork spring roll, shrimp spring roll, combination seafood soup and filet mignon with tomatoe rice. Everything came out almost within minutes of ordering. Each dish we ordered was really good, lots of meat, plenty of seafood and flavor. We weren’t expecting much but extremely pleased with this great new Viet spot we found. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu. What a great find.

Checked out Unilocal review and thought this place has tasty Phở. But… nope, it tasted pretty mediocre. Service was attentive and fast. Ordered regular sized Phở, dry rice noodle mixed with grill beef, fries egg roll, and Thai tea. That phở must have some MSG in it, because I got super thirty for water afterwards. The beef in the dry rice noodle was super dry, the noodle falls apart with simple mixing of fish sauce, and they put ice berg shredded lettuce in it? That is very odd and not authentic at all. The egg roll I ordered is wrapped in rice paper, coated with egg flour, and deep fried. Umm, that is not the normal golden crispy egg roll I get at other Phở restaurant. Fish sauce tasted diluted and it’s missing the strong fish flavor. I had went to other Phở place, and they don’t include or have any of the odd things I mention above. Thai tea doesn’t have the tea taste, I only tasted sugar and cream, that it. Overall, food for me is a 3/5, this place tasted like a cheaper knock off version of the authentic vietnamese Phở for American, who may not have known how actual vietnamese food taste like. Service is a 5/5, and price for the food quality is a 4⁄5. Definitely slightly cheaper than most Phở restaurant.

Soooooo muchhhhhhhh fooooooood!!! This is not an exaggeration, especially in regards to take out food. Usually, I’d be pissed about how much food shortage you’ll get, but here, you get A LOT! :D I ordered the Phở Dac Biet for my Mom and we ended up splitting her meal. Bonus points: I got to have Broken Rice dish as dinner tonight, hehehe. The Phở Dac Biet itself had DOUBLE the meats, phở and broth in it. The meats(flank, tripe, tendons) were fresh and generous as well as the Phở and broth. After splitting the meal with me, my Mom still had 1⁄3 of her meal remaining. For $ 7.00, this meal was worth it. For my Broken Rice dish — the meats(charboiled pork, steamed egg meat and shredded pork) was plentiful and generous. The veggies were also fresh and rice was cooked good without tasting too overly wet and sticky. For $ 8.50 — this meal was worth it’s weight in gold too. The sauce that comes with it, I didn’t need it — the meal was perfectly seasoned. Service here is quick and friendly. The servers do speak English and Vietnamese and their menus are also trilingual: English, Spanish and Vietnamese. They also sell almond cookies and sesame balls at their cashier counter too. Parking is tight, but they got street parking too. For a small and clean joint, they make sure you leave here stuffed. Would definitely come back for sure! :D

After making an unfortunate trip to Longo, my pops and I wanted to grab a warm bowl of phở, and Unilocal made it clear that this place was a safe bet. Initially, I wasn’t too fond of the place. The building looked damaged, the parking lot was small and the interior was fairly outdated. Not to mention, our table was worn out. However, for some reason, places that have said interior/exterior serve the most authentic dishes… most of the time, anyways. I decided to take Unilocal’s recommendation and ordered their Bun Bo Hue, a spicy beef soup with pork hock, pork blood cakes, beef and rice noodles. Really delicious! They didn’t skimp on the meat. The blood cakes, which normally isn’t something I’d order, were quite tasty. The broth wasn’t terribly spicy, but it’s nothing some extra chili can’t fix. My pops and I also shared an order of fried egg rolls. Super fresh! That crispy layer on the outside is an absolute win. Our server was fairly nice. Service was typical of Vietnamese restaurants. We came in during a lunch rush, so service was partially slow. Can’t blame them for that. All-in-all, I left as a happy and filled customer. No complaints here.
