When your in mood to enjoy a really great home cooked meal and in the El Monte area (Garvey Ave to be exact) you’ll find the best tasting style of El Grullo Jalisco has to offer north of it’s geographical location. From dishes of costillas de puerco con nopales to the best ever tripas (marrow guts) which can be had via tacos, burritos or simply by themselves… I prefer them semi soft but ask Señor David and he will make them any way you likey. He offers daily specials threw out the year like fish on Fridays (Lent of course) and caldo de res on Wednesday. Phone orders are welcomed and they also offer catering. I love the flavor of this little Mexican joint… I get their chicken enchiladas (green sauce) ala carte and they are my favorite. it’s a must try. This is home cooking at its best and yes they have homemade tortillas. I also highly recommend their Chicharon Plate… Muy Rico!!!
