Slowly devoured super Gooshy luscious appetising sloppy oversized four fish tacos. Topped with sides of green hot sauce and a touch of lemon, onions, spicy carrots and peppers, radishes for a overwhelming feast for breakfast. Shrimp taco was a fail. Service was superb. Oooooops…needs a major cleaning on windows, food under tables, baseboards and some tables.

I tried the asada and carnitas tacos. First thing I noticed was that they put a lot of meat inside the tacos, which was great! The asada tacos were decent and the green salsa wasn’t too watered down. I really enjoyed the carnitas, they were crunchy and delicious. The one thing I didn’t like were the tortillas. They were really hard and greasy. Overall it was great and I am definitely coming back!

My friend recommended this place to me and I fell in love with it! I always have taco cravings and this place just hits the spot. I like it so much better than King Taco. I always get two pastor tacos and they really fill me up. So happy this place is close by to me :)

I will be bery honest today was a really big disappointment for me. I have heard friend an people here in el monte talk very highly about thia place, so i figured id fo allu give it a try. I came in an asked for pretty much one of each taco. All together i got 7(asada, pastor, lengua, buche, chorizo, shrimp, fish) im sad to say that i really didnt care for 5 of them the only ones that where decent where the pastor which was ok and i will say that the chorizo was actually pretty good :) Like i mentioned earlier i was disappointed but its ok at least now i know

I love this little taco joint. Friendly staff and good prices. I usually get their tripas, lengua, and carnitas tacos. Tripas and carnitas are crunchy good, and lengua is super juicy.

I use to come to this place when it was only a truck and the food was great and not so greasy. In my opinion the good but rather greasy in comparison to their food from years ago. The tripas tacos are delicious and usually arent greasy at all. The asada and pastor tacos are pretty nasty cause the tortillas are drenched in oil. The chiles they serve on the side are usually cold and not made on order. The tortas are great here. They also have a decent wait time for the food. The price is that of an average food truck. Will I come again? Perhaps if im out after hours and they are the only ones open. Will I intentionally go there? Never again. Be sure to try their sauces those are great and go well with any of the food from their menu.

Delicious food and they have tripe(tripa) tacos — enough said. If you have a decent size order for pick up, call in the order ahead of time. Location a bit sketchy, but overall good Mexican grub.

BACK in the day way way WAY back when it was just the taco truck out by the mechanic shop(they were new) the tacos were AMAZING. My family and would pick some up every weekend. Fast forward to now. They now have a taco truck that’s around the neighborhood and a restaurant. I’ve been to both. WAITTIME: Sometimes it sucks. You’l get there and be the only one. then two seconds after putting your order in everyone decides to drop by. Half the time other peoples orders will go out before yours even tho you were there first and ordered before them… the fudge. SERVICE: There’s a guy there that always seemed a little drunk the times i’ve dropped by. One of the ladies is really nice and the other gives you a stink eye. Like seriously i’m sorry i’m inconveniencing you with my patronage??? FOOD: Below average. Meats are ALWAYSDRY. No moisture what so ever. If there’s moist succulent meats out there this cook does not know they exist. Wet burrito cant be done in other meats if you want green salsa… BOO. Taquito plate. meat is super dry. Tortas ALWAYS fall apart and meat is dry as well. Their chicken salad is full of DRYASS chicken. The only saving grace for their food is the salsas. If it wasn’t for those salsas their food would be SO freaken plain and lifeless. I was really hoping and crossing my fingers that once they got the restaurant it would only open the doors for even better food but sadly they dropped the ball. King Tacon is way better.

Passed by on my way back from a late night at the gym. Since it was late, the taco truck was the only place opened in this plaza. I had a dirty dog. Bacon wrapped smothered in ketchup and onions. Deliciousness. But the only thing is this place charges tax and tacos are $ 1.25 will definitely come back to try more things on the menu.

Pretty darn good. Carnitas is crispy(a bit dry). The lengua is freaking awesome. Nicely braised and juicy. Yum. They have a taco truck they tow around. Isle inside the restaurant. They have a garnish salsa bar that’s pretty neat. Especially to someone like me who likes to garnish the crap out of my tacos with onions and cilantro They have roasted chilies.

I went with my girlfriend. She went to this place years ago and loves their fish tacos so we had to go. We got fish tacos and they were still amazing. I got the fish combo that came with three big fish tacos, rice and beans. It was great. She got the meal that was just three fish tacos. All the prices there were great. I’m definitely interested in coming back to try other things on the menu.

I’ve driven by their taco truck a handful of times and each time I wonder if its good or not. Well, I finally decided to try it and I ordered the al pastor burrito with everything on. The burrito came out to $ 4 even. My first thought was«oh only $ 4 not bad». While I was waiting for my burrito, I realized that they had an actual restaurant in the back which was still opened if I wanted to dine in. I ordered from their taco truck which was parked in the same plaza but out in front. The taco truck was a lot more noticeable, If it weren’t for the truck parked there I would have never known there was a Mexican restaurant in that plaza. My burrito was put together within a few minutes. After about two bites, I noticed there was hardly any meat inside my burrito which was a huge let down. I just paid $ 4 to fill up on beans and rice. Normally I take pictures of my food, but I was so disappointed with my burrito I didn’t think my sorry burrito was picture worthy. I have to admit though, I didn’t check reviews before trying this place. If I did I probably would have went with their tacos. Maybe I would have liked those better. I highly doubt I’ll be back to grab a quick bite here, if I ever do though, I’m going to try their tacos instead. This place is cash only & there’s plenty of parking.

This place used to have a taco truck somewhere near Rush St, not very far away. But lately I’ve been noticing that it doesn’t exist anymore, and they’ve moved the truck right outside their restaurant. Not really a big deal. I guess I’m a fan of tacos and these types of Mexican food. And I must say, this is one of my favorite joints in the 626 area. Every time I come here, I would order the Pastor Quesadilla, probably their best thing here. I wouldn’t go for the Carne Asada though however, since it’s a bit dry and doesn’t go down as smooth and juicy as the pastor would. Tacos are delicious as well. But nothing beats their quesadillas!

El Chaparrito is an awesome Mexican joint near the corner of Rush and Portrero in Garvey Plaza. I come here for the fish tacos… authentic, fresh, and best of all, battered! This is a MUST try if you’re ever here or see the truck on Rush! I had the fish taco plate with rice and beans. Sad to say the rice was kinda old and the beans were just okay. Next time around, I’ll just stick with the fish tacos. BUT, the plate(with 3 tacos) was only $ 5.50… can’t beat that price! Most of the plates or actually the food in general is really cheap, love it! I’m definitely going to try the quesadilla next time, which has several slices of fresh avocados inside… yum! Service is friendly. CASHONLY!

Yes, finally found a taco place near me that also have a truck for that late night craving for some lengua or cabeza taco. Place was recommended by someone who works at the El Monte Aquatic Center and she was spot on. $ 1.25 for a freshly prepared taco loaded with whatever you want plus the usual trimmings. Ordered two lengua, two carnitas, one each of the cabeza and asada, all for $ 8 and change. A family owned & operated taco place– can’t get any better than that to get authentic food. Fresh & tasty off the grill. Definitely will come back for other stuff. They have pictures on the wall of what they can prepare and I will definitely try the Huarache.
