Great little mom and pop restaurant with friendly service. Chicken Garlic Phở had clear broth with tender chicken and was not overly salty. 5 tables inside with plenty of parking out front.

I typically don’t write reviews but… I really wanted to for this place. This place can be overlooked and doesn’t really look like it would be good but mind you it is a diamond in the rough. I frequent this place about 2 – 4 times a month and it is the only place I will ever go for phở. Although my order isn’t technically phở it’s their chicken with rice noodle in garlic chicken soup that is absolutely delightful. They use fresh chicken that’s never dry and they give a very good amount. I typically give my bf the rest of my chicken since I can’t finish it. For the price you pay and the quality of food it is definitely worth it.

The portions here are pretty good and the the prices are cheap. I ordered just plain noodles and at first, the broth seemed kind of thin and tasteless. But after I got used to it(?) it was really good. My boyfriend got his phở with beef meatballs and really liked it. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Cute lil hole in the wall phở joint — nicely decorated inside — very homey Vietnamese feel. About 7 small tables. Nicely family owned place. The Wifey took care of my order. Sweet and speaks good English and she also said I speak good Vietnamese as well :) While waiting for my phở and eggrolls to go, the Wifey turned on the TV for me to watch, how sweet! I ordered 5 eggrolls and one medium size Phở Tay Gan Nam Sach(beef tendons, tripe and flanks). Total meal cost $ 15.00. The eggrolls were pretty good — the filling inside was a lot of meat and mushrooms, and they were fried nicely. They don’t come with side veggies — just dipping sauce. The Phở itself for a medium, yea, they definitely need to give more broth. Good amount of phở noodles and the noodles are soft and broke easily upon putting into the broth. Not too much meat, but it hits the spot. They also do give the side veggies that come with the phở. Overall, a good place to eat phở either sit down or take out.

Quick device and nice owners. The soups was really good with a reasonable price. They take credit card and my soup came out to 6 bucks. Not bad

This restaurant is super close to my house, but I just never went. Came here for lunch and had phở. Restaurant is known only for their phở, so any other dishes you won’t find here. I enjoyed myself and would definitely come back again. ENJOY!

First time trying this place. Overall an okay experience, server was nice, but the soup was dismally lacking in salt. Of course that made the noodles and the meat bland.

I was told this place has awesome phở so I decided to give this place a try. Came here on a Tuesday night. The location this place is in looks kind of sketch. Their business sign was not lit up so it was difficult finding it after turning onto the small street but when pulling up closer, you are able to see where this place is… This place is quite small. About 4 to 5 tables in there. There was no one dining in but was greeted by the lady who works there. She was very kind and attentive. My boyfriend and I shared a large #7, which has brisket, rare sliced beef, tendon, tripe, and whatever else is included. Our order came out quick, obviously, since we were the only customer. As we dug in, I realized there were hardly any tripe and tendon. It was mainly beef! Kinda disappointed as I was looking forward to the tendon and tripe. The soup on the other hand was not greasy like other places, but I felt it was missing something to give it that kick. Then it came time to pay, The check was written, water 2×0.50. Really? Only other place I know that charges for water is boiling crab. First time seeing any phở places charge for water. Interesting. Anyway, that was my experience and I am not sure if I will give this place another chance.

«A little hidden phở(Vietnamese noodle soup) restaurant in El Monte has EXCELLENTSERVICE!» SERVICE: IMPRESSIVE! The lady grabbed me an extra chair for my purse! Super nice! There was a big football game on & I asked if we could change the channel & she said«Of course, make yourself comfortable!» The treatment was very welcoming and family-like! RESTAURANT: It was small but, I mean how much room do you really need to eat something? FOOD: FRESH! I ordered the filet-o-fish phở and my bf got the beef phở. His broth was more flavorful than mine; my broth needed more salt and some of that home-made chili of theirs ;) «Overall experience was very satisfying! I’m very surprised at the great service bc it wasn’t fake or forced out, the smile/gesture was warm and sincere; not rushed or trained like some of the fancy restaurants that I had to pay over $ 100 for a little presentation of food and fake-friendly service. I recommend this place if you’re a simple and non-picky eater that doesn’t care about how big or pretty a restaurant is ;)» I will be back, back, BACK! — — — - to try the spring rolls next time ;)

I always get the brisket phở here(#15) and I love it! The meat is so tender and enjoyable. I find it much more tasty than other briskets I’ve had because it doesn’t have a lot of fat like some of the other places I’ve been to. Their chili sauce is homemade and always delicious. I just can’t seem to get enough of it. I love when phở places have the actual chili oil instead of just sriracha. For some reason, even though they do not offer the 25 cents off check-in deal anymore, it showed up when I checked in. After informing me that they don’t offer that deal anymore, the lady, Tiffany, told me she would still honor it this time since it was advertised on my phone when I checked in. Tiffany is always so kind to everyone and provides great customer service. Every time I come here I always feel so welcome and in a good mood.

I came here today to pick up an order of phở and spring rolls to go. I came home and heated the soup and noticed the containing that had the broth was not even half full. I called to see if they may have forgotten the rest in another containing and the girl that picked up said since I ordered a medium, they measure the broth they give. WTF!!? Really? The girl was rude and just said we measure everything including the amount of broth and hung up the phone. I been to many phở joints that have sizes but they always gave more then enough broth. I posted a photo of the bowl of phở after I heated up the broth and added all of the condiments. Tell me if you think this is how phở should be served. I’m very disappointed and I would never come back here again. Phở Kim gets 0 stars in my Unilocal book. This is an unethical phở practice that should be banned. Beware.

Really tiny place in a small El Monte plaza on Peck. I had lunch here at 2:30 with my sister so we were the only people there. This place has a fairly limited menu — I usually get vermicelli at phở places and steal some phở from whomever I’m eating with at the time, but Phở Kim has only phở and a few appetizers and rice dishes. Fine with me, I got a large combination phở and my sister got a rare steak phở. Verdict: excellent phở. The broth is very light and clear. They give you a small cup of a fatty substance that you can add to the broth if you like it heavier, which I suspect is beef fat that they skim off the top of the phở broth when they make it. What really stood out to me were actually the vegetables — the bean sprouts and mint leaves were the freshest-looking that I’ve ever seen at a phở place. Hearty portions of beef in the phở, the steak was thick-cut but still tender. Tried the cha gio too, not bad and very crispy but I still like Golden Deli’s better. They have a TV in there, it was showing the local KCAL9 news which was a little unpleasant since I dislike hearing the fear-mongering American news media telling me about people getting shot by gangbangers and dying in fires while I eat lunch. But to be fair, there’s not much else on at 2:30. Like my friend Eddie X, I almost felt a little bad using a Unilocal Deal. I paid just $ 20 including tax and a generous tip for two large bowls of phở and an order of cha gio. I sincerely hope that the very nice owners knew what they were getting into with Unilocal Deals and that the large corporation that Unilocal is becoming didn’t trick them in any way.

woahhh watch out now! Check-in deal: $ 0.25 off your bill! Really good phở. no MSG added. Super friendly service. The waitress tried selling me on their amaazzziingg Thai tea. I got suckered in. It came in a packaged bottle. Homegirl was selling me a store bought Thai tea! Aside from that, i really enjoyed the phở. The broth was good and the ingredients were fresh. Their peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls is divine. Huge fan! Their house chili sauce is the sh*t.

I think this place has been open for at least a year, but the front entrance still hangs that«Grand Opening» banner up. Definitely one of the best service out of all Phở places that I’ve been to. Our waitress spoke really good English(which’s a rarity in the 626 area because it’s such an Asian community) and she was friendly and attentive. Spring Rolls($ 4.75) — A bit expensive for two spring rolls. Peanut sauce was pretty decent, but spring rolls were okay. Combination Rice Noodle Beef Soup, or Phở(Medium, $ 5.25) — There were four different Phở sizes: small, medium, large, and extra large. I was a little bit disappointed with the medium serving size and expected a little«more» meat. Overall, phở(including noodle and broth) tasted okay. 3 stars food, 5 stars service; however, this place is probably one of the few phở restaurants located east of 605 freeway — so I would still consider coming back here if I am around the Baldwin Park area.

This is one of those friendly neighborhood, hooked-on-phở-nics HITW places: Phở Kim… Phở Kim… Phở Kim… Ok, now that we’re straight on that… Tiny place in a nondescript mini-mall in an area probably second only to Garden Grove/Westminster in the number of phở places to go to. The place is clean and unpretentious, great for a basic bowl of phở. Lately I’ve been ordering the rare steak and tendon variety, the Tai Gan version of beef broth phở. The bowls come in 4 sizes: S, M, L, XL, each one weighed for distinction. I went with the Goldilocks M size and was satisfied by the portion . The broth is sweet, not oily, and warm throughout, and even as I dump a prodigious amount of fresh bean sprouts into my bowl along with some fresh ripped mint leaves, I was good to go. On balance, they gave me a generous amount of rare steak perhaps offsetting the miserly amount of actual tendon… Like the Tai Gan, I’ve also been ordering Cha Gio or crispy fried pork egg rolls . As with the phở, you can ask for 3, 4, or 5 in the order. I asked for 3 and it was served simply with a large piece of lettuce wrap along with the traditional Nuoc Cham dipping sauce. These rolls were on the skinny side as Cha Gio go, and the skin was a little thick and not as light and flaky as some that I have tried(I like Golden Deli’s)… The service was very friendly and attentive, probably because along with one other customer, we were the only ones in there at 130pm on a Thursday. Still it does have that mom and pop charm to the place. Prices are so-so, not super cheap as one might expect for the neighborhood… 3.5 stars… I might come back, I’m not opposed, but there are a lot of places to go for phở not too far from here…
