The Press was recommended to us by the people we were staying with and we ended up eating there twice during our stay in Half Moon Bay and I absolutely loved it! I wish we had one in Hollywood! Perched on a corner within view of the ocean this quaint café gets its name from its specialty menu item– Grilled Cheese sandwiches. Unfortunately I never ended up getting one but one of my travelling companions did and it looked RIDICULOUSLYAMAZING! On the first day I ordered the Isabella Omelette and also an Iced Tea(they were out of their brewed tea so the cashier made me one from scratch which was super nice of him!) and the second day I grabbed the Huevos Rancheros. The service is great and the food is pretty awesome too, I will mention that I wasn’t a fan of my meal on the second day mainly because I hate hard corn tortillas! When I ordered the Rancheros I expected them to be soft like the ones I usually get with my breakfast further South so that was a little disappointing. I probably should have read the description listed below the meal more carefully so totally my fault. Really enjoyed this cute little brekkie spot and definitely recommend it over anything available in the local area.

Hidden gem off of Hwy 1. The owner and staff are very friendly and provide excellent service. The food is incredible and very reasonable. The place was packed with locals which is always a good sign of approval.

Love this place! Definitely a great neighborhood café! I come here all the time, mostly around 5:30am before work to grab a coffee and sometimes a pastry. I love the muffins and there is always fresh hot coffee. The owner has really done a great job in the past year redoing the place, from updating the menu to giving the café a total facelift, it’s a great little café. Every once in a while I’ll get a hot breakfast or lunch here on my days off. The breakfast burrito is bomb, as well as the waffles with fruit. I got a panini here once and all of the cheese on it was a bit to rich and greasy for me, but it was well made with quality ingredients. The service can be a little slow, but its a very laid back environment. Awesome gem in here in El Granada!

Food was great. Belgian waffles and French Toast were delish. Huevos rancheros were good, as was the veggie omelet. SOMUCHFOOD! Everything was served with fruit plus had side of crispy country potatoes. Order at the front. Very casual. Can sit outside of it’s nice out. Bring a jacket — may be cold and windy.

Went out for some lunch and found this small café that was pretty great. My family and I had the blue burgers or grilled cheeses. The burger was great! The party grilled well and very flavorful. Kids said the grilled cheeses were yummy too. Good place for breakfast or lunch but I wasn’t fond of the bathroom being in the back of the kitchen washroom. Strange setup but nothing to do with the quality of food. I would definitely go back but probably for breakfast!

Just had breakfast here and it was excellent. Definitely recommend the huevos rancheros. Also, the home fries are perfectly crisp on the outside. Looking around, everyone’s dish looked great. Will definitely return when in the area. Excited to try that Cubano sandwich!

Had a perfect lunch here in the middle of a bike ride from Mountain View to Half Moon Bay and back again. Delightful grilled cheese and tomato soup, and also a burger & salad. I needed fuel! Loved the atmosphere, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Hope to be back soon.

Delicious veggie omelette potatoes and veggie wrap. Also happy to see that the homemade biscuit made it back to the veggie omelette plate. Dog friendly patio.

This place was simply amazing. Food was exemplary… just take a look at my pics. Ambiance was delightfully charming. Definitely a must try for foodies like myself and will be a new addition to my list of Bay Area favs.

Yum, yum! Servings are huge! I ordered the veggie scramble with chorizo which comes with home fries(cooked perfectly) and side biscuit(to die for). Definitely sharing size! Also, their coffee is phenomenal, don’t even bother with the espresso drinks. The house blend has amazing flavor and hits the spot with a slap of sunshine! We didn’t get a bagel or pastry but we will next time! The bagels are homemade, bonus points are in order!

The service lacks a little. It’s a good place for a quiet afternoon lunch, esp for an introvert like me. The portion sizes are great. If the tuna in the tuna salad had some relish in it(a sweet factor), it would be golden! The cubano sammie was really good, as well as the tomato soup that accompanies it. Cute, self-sufficient type of place. Worth a try

Hmmm. Arrived at 2:35 on a Sunday. Unilocal says they are open until 3, and the sign says closed. There are no hours posted at the restaurant. Oh well, some other day…

Update of January 2016: the new dinner menu debuts, with new entrees and appetizers plus the full range of excellent panini, salad, and small plate selections. Dinner review in a single haiku: Bring a friend along. They should order the steak frites; You, the seared salmon. Seriously, the seared salmon filet was *perfectly* done, and the accompanying spinach-parsnip-bacon mélange was could have been an entreé all by itself. My companion’s steak was excellent too, but the salmon stole the show!

Loved it loved it! Incredibly charming seaside café. You order at the front and then sit. Very fast and efficient service. We went for breakfast. The coffee and tea options were vast and delicious. A++. Two of us had bagel sandwiches– the gf had eggs and sausage(yummy) and I had ‘Jen’s Bagel’ that had eggs and spinach and salsa and avocado(v yummy). We also shared a chocolate croissant(SOGOOD. Very flaky and tasty). The other two with us got the breakfast burrito and it got top marks from them both. Would definitely go back and try the lunch options and other bfast items. Definitely recommend it!

The Press is difficult to review. I would give the building and cleanliness 1 star, but the food 3 – 4 stars. My husband loved the breakfast burrito. It had eggs, cheddar, bacon, salsa and red onions. My husband who doesn’t care for potatoes(other than French fries) loved their country potatoes. I ordered the 3 egg scramble with ham, thankfully was ham steak and not awful lunch meat. My order came with their homemade biscuit, it was a little dry and crumbly. The lattes were good but not remarkable. This place isn’t very clean and the flies are annoying. Hopefully after they finish remodeling it’ll be better.

We came here for brunch during our short weekend trip at half moon bay. I loved that they gave out scones with their breakfast. I love scones! Their portions are huge and I really had a hard time recovering from food coma. Please don’t repeat my mistake. Stop when you’re full! Although it was very standard breakfast(eggs, sausages, potatoes) I came here for the relatively diverse selection. Other restaurants in this area have very limited breakfast/brunch menu.
