715 pm on Valentines Day. I walk in with my husband and daughters. Tables were available, but he said we’d have to wait 20 minutes until he could bus them. Disappointed, I say, ok but can you give me some edemame? I’m starving. He said no. We walked out. Really? 20 mins to bus a table for 4? And refusing to accommodate a simple request for a paying customer? Buh bye. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

The kids love this one and the owner could not be more friendly! Easy on the pocket book and great on the taste buds. We have been back more times than I can count. All is very good always leave very full.

Hmm The tempera lobster tail was pretty good. oh the ahi tar tar was very good too with fried shredded potatoes. I really like the lighter, less mayo-ed sushi selections here so you can really taste the other ingredients. While the food here is not your usual traditional Japanese fare, I appreciate the subtle hints of fusion and new ways of combining sushi and Japanese food here. Food is very interesting and always delightful here. I can’t wait to go back to try other unique creations.

More of a local place than a destination sushi restaurant. Certainly no Mikunis. That said, sushi is good. Some good nigiri, rolls and tempuras. Lunch is a good option here and happy specials are attractive. Service is more the issue for me. It has it moments of good and bad. Sometimes because of the local nature of the place and the small size of the restaurant, the social scene doesn’t mix well for a family. Including the staff sometimes being more a part of the social scene at the sushi bar than being attentive at the tables.

Best sushi in EDH for sure! No place can compete. Fish is fresh, food is consistent. Sit at the sushi bar for some entertainment by the chefs!

Killer food, fresh fish and sushi! Nice staff. Family owned. No longer operated by the same people, therefore this review is no longer applicable.

Mr. Qui Tu is an amazing chef. I always have to sit at the sushi bar when he’s working. I tell him the main ingredients I want and he makes up some delicious concoctions for me. Their fish is fresh and I love the specials they come up with from time to time. Definitely worth the drive out to El Dorado Hills!

$ 2 Sierra Nevada’s during happy hour and Thai«third degree burns on your tongue» chicken… ‘nough said! This is my «Cheer’s» where everyone knows my order before I have to say it…

This place is a joke. I hardly ever give one star to anything but I can’t help it and this is why. — Waiters are unfriendly and slow — No Sapporo beer. What sushi place doesn’t have Japanese beer? — Pot of tea brewed with a teabag costs $ 2.50 — All nigiris come with wasabi on top of rice, no mention of it on the menu. Trying to cover bad fish taste or what? — No regular soy sauce. There is a teriyaki sauce with wasabi flavor and soy sauce with wasabi flavor again. — Rolls are small and taste worse than in a buffet — Fish entries are tiny, kid size or smaller and according to the menu, come with miso soup, salad, rice and broccoli but the broccoli never arrived… The worst sushi place I’ve been to… seriously.

This was a great place for sushi! The menu did not have much for vegetarian options, but when I told the sushi chef that I wanted three vegetarian rolls, he whipped up some of the most flavorful sushi I have had! The only bad thing is that if /when I go back, it is doubtful I’ll have the same experience… unless the same sushi chef is working. The atmosphere was fine and the prices were about average.

Great Sushi! Love everyone on staff cooking and serving! The kitchen food is yummy, but the sushi is outta this word, thanks to the very experienced sushi chefs. Forget Mikuni’s and go somewhere where you’ll remember your name and your favorite dish.

When I type«Jinju» into my iPhone, the auto spell check changes it to «Kinky.» Yet one more reason to love this fabulous sushi joint in El Dorado Hills. What a cool place to name their rolls after their regulars! Brittany, our server guided us through our dining experience flawlessly. We asked her to select all our items. Everything was amazing here as this is «fusion» style sushi at it’s best. Although unplanned, we showed up during«power hour.» For one hour each day, sushi is 40% off! Lucky us. Great service, great food, Kinky sushi is #1

Their name has now changed to Jinju Sushi & they moved to Woodland(late 2011). This place has become our first choice for sushi! As former Mikuni junkies, we don’t mind the prices here because the quality is fabulous. We’ve been savoring the flavors here for a few years and never leave disappointed. Best tip… sit at the bar and let Dillon & John take care of you. We don’t order off the menu, just let them create something according to your preferences. The staff are great fun also!

I’ll give this place another try by eating in especially since I live up the street and desire a fave Japanese restaurant nearby but so far… meh. I’m going to try Sky Sushi before giving this place a second chance. Maybe because the food was to go so by the time I got it home, the chicken teriyaki was dry and the rice watery. The gyoza was also burned further indicating that there was no care put into the dish. Either that or someone was in training.

Used to be a regular but had to cut back since the prices are above average. Watch a few basketball games at the sushi bar. I like the service and the food is pretty good. Occasionally the family will order take out. But eating inside is a pleasure. Compared to other I heart teriyaki, this is the nicest and well décor spot. I’m only giving it a 4 because it is kinda pricey.

My wife and I have been Mikuni faithfuls since our first date in 2005. A tip from a co-worker was how I first sampled the I Love Teriyaki & Sushi«white rock» roll(can I say DELISH!!!); I was hooked! My wife could not believe that I «strayed» and refused to allow me to tempt her until that fateful day. Thanks to a trip to Tahoe and a ravenous hunger attack, she reluctantly found herself joining me at the sushi bar.(I knew she’d succumb) Dillon went to work: scallops on the half shell, Maui onion rolls, hamachi collar, BBQ albacore, etc(great flavor, lots of variety, very fresh fish and fulfilling)!! Now when we want sushi, ILT&S is our first choice! The sushi chefs, Dillon and John, make it their business to take care of you when you sit at the bar. They«interview» you to understand your preferences(we never use a menu); then they create amazing dishes that fulfill your taste buds’ every wish! To sum it up we choose ILT&S because of the personal touch, friendly service, great sushi, in a cozy intimate setting-and we recommend it without hesitation!

Extreme roll was off the charts!!! I went in today and ordered the lunch special«extreme roll». Drink and Miso arrived in less than 2 minutes, and roll came in under 10 minutes. The environment was comfy, and the service was extremely personal. I am a frequent customer here, and each time is better than the last. I am a big fan of this place, and will continue to share it with others. :)

This place serves fast food Japanese like teriyaki chicken and some deep friend something. I wasn’t expecting much but the food ended up better than liked. Go there if you there isn’t a panda express around.

We eat here a lot for lunch, since I work across the street. I think the food is pretty good. I like the lunch specials and the service is fair. Depends on who is working. It can be a little slow sometimes, but no big deal. I always order the lunch special so I have no comment on the dinner menu. The lunch is good, except I do not like the slaw they serve. That’s just me. The sushi is decent, but I wouldn’t go here just for sushi! Good overall!

It is the dumbest name … makes you roll your eyes. I don’t favor the sushi here — if you want sushi… go to Sky or Mikuni’s. If you like perfect chilean sea bass — this is the place. It is their specialty. Also — their thai terriyaki chicken will kill any spicy food lover. Miso soup is good, as is their salad dressing. I also like the cute children’s meal… the presentation makes it fun for the girls.
