My husband and I LOVE Hop House. We come here all the time — great food, great beer selection, and great atmosphere. I especially love that we can bring our dog and sit outside on the patio with him. It is a nice patio with a nice view of the pond and there are a couple fire pits — great ambiance! We almost always order something different but my favorites are the Mac n Cheese/Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese(super delish but also pretty greasy for those of you with sensitive tummies) and the Caprese Grilled Cheese… Now I’m sitting here craving a Caprese Grilled Cheese. It’s seriously so good. I’m not really a burger person but I hear the burgers are amazing too! I especially love that they serve brunch(mimosas!) now and have Happy Hour every day!

Very happy with the appetizers I had here after work with my fellow employees. House made chips were awesome. Carnitas street tacos were killer. The fries and peppers were ok. Candied bacon was better than I expected. Ordered a couple burgers(classic cheese and a western) to take home to the wife for dinner. They were awesome. Best burger in EDH. Amazing patio, especially on this unusually cool summer evening.

Walked in past a couple employees who just looked at me and didn’t say anything. Loads of cups everywhere. Says open till midnight, but you cannot get anything to eat. So I ended up leaving.

Definitely don’t wait in line to place your order like a civil person. Go to the side of the bar cut in line and then they’ll serve you first. There’s no table service so you have to line up at the bar. People are constantly cutting in line and the bartenders don’t even try to manage it. This was probably one of the most single most annoying restaurants situations I’ve ever experienced. The bartender seemed completely oblivious to the line that is supposed to be there. They serve whoever just walks up. First time in my life not leaving a tip. I will never come here again. The service sucks.

Gave Taco Tuesdays a try… Everything about this place screams«LOCALHIPSTERJOINT.» Since it was Tuesday, we stumbled upon«Trivia Night.» The«Current Events» run was very disappointing– unless your definition of «Current Events» means things women obsess over on Facebook and tabloids you glance at while standing in line at the grocery store checkout(then again, it’s a «Local Hipster Joint,» so what more was I expecting?). House salad was good, but not worth $ 12… and even though the tacos were pretty good, you might as well just go to Taco Tuesdays at Rubios if all you really want is a half decent clean Americanized Taco.

Great tap list, atmosphere, and service. The pub food was pretty delicious as well. If it’s a nice day, I recommend enjoying a brew and a burger on their spacious patio. We’ll definitely be back.

LOVE this place! Great food. Lots of beer to choose from and an ever changing list, sometimes a few too many IPAs for my husband. The Western burger and fried Brussel sprouts are my favorite, and the Mac & Cheese is awesome!

I ordered the Exception Burger with coleslaw and my husband ordered the Smoked Pork Belly Roll with fries. The Exception burger was delicious, moist and tasty. The coleslaw was good. I had half the Pork Belly roll and was disappointed. The pork belly was cut in cubes and was a bit dry. The fries were okay but not exceptional. I came on a Saturday at 1pm and was able to find an inside table easily. Service was friendly and the food came out surprisingly quickly.

Horribly forgetful server. M.L. forgot to take my order when I was sitting at the bar with no order number on my stand indicating that I have ordered. She took my order then forgot to deliver my beer. I reminded her and decided to have just water and forget the beer order. Lastly, I had to remind her to give me a corrected bill. Then she complied and took off just $ 7.00 without any consideration about the taxes that was no returned. This is totally a wrong way to give a customer a refund. They owe me for the extra taxes I paid.

Just had a wine and a beer. The beer, a pear cider, was to die for. The wine, by the glass, a pinot noir, was easy-drinking, thus did the job. Ordering the drinks at the bar –service was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The seating is a little confusing. No DJ but they had a love band instead. Lots of families, with the smaller kids playing by the outdoor man made lake and fountain. If you sit outside, it will take about 5 minutes for your nose to get acclimated to the sewery-smelling man made lake, so don’t order your food too quickly.

Many craft beers on tap. Very nice patio that’s shaded in the afternoon. I also had their mac & cheese which was probably the best I’ve ever had. Not a big fan of the older music. 60’s to 80’s. I added 1 star. Originally only gave it 4 stars because of the music. Decided it still deserved 4.5 stars and I rounded up.

Burger is as amazing as everyone says! Order it. It’s freaking delicious. Carnitas tacos are good and the Brussel Sprouts are definitely worth getting. Beer is good, only complaint is I wish the kept the glasses chilled. Staff is quick, nice and service is exceptional. It is a bar atmosphere so be prepared for it to be very loud. We dined here on a Wednesday evening at it was so loud we couldn’t hear each other.

Food incredible!!! Hands down the best burger in the Sacramento area! That speaks volumes. Have to try the chorizo Mac n Cheese… To die for! The bacon in a stick… YUMMY! Great beer selection and the bar tenders are very generous. When we go out to eat… It’s always«Let’s go to the Hop House!» Kid friendly. Only little thing I would say is that they need more tables to accommodate more people or bigger groups. I bet they will expand due to the awesome popularity of this place. Great outside patio with a fire pit. Love love the Hop House! Awesome bartenders! Zadie kicks ass!

Definitely a cool spot for drinks. Kinda small for my taste… Love the setup of this place. Reminds me of few of the bars in downtown sac, small, dark & low lighting. Since it was beer week, they had a few new beers going on. Unfortunately, it was raining during that night so I didn’t get a chance to sit out on the patio and take it all in. Would love to come back during the summer and see the surrounding water with the busy traffic of people going by.

Back again with a family group. Monday’s are Happy Hour 3-close Unfortunately, they were out of the one beer we all looked forward to … Macadamia Nut Porter. ½ hour and finally served food but no appetizers still? Guess they considered the appetizer a «side order» because they came to the table after all food was served! Then, the one I looked forward to was crispy/burned(deep fried Brussel Sprouts) Menu items we ordered were good and the Bartender was really great so have to rate a 4 star on that. Still haven’t given up on this place yet

I go to HOP House sometimes during lunch and it never disappoints. Ambience: The decoration is great. It definitely has that«chill and relax» feeling. Food: The food is always good. I love the Mac n’ Cheese. The only thing that I find weird is the ordering process. We would have to go to the bar and order our food before sitting down. I guess they don’t have servers?

A pretty nice beer selection on tap and some bottle that are changed up. The colorful hanging signs behind the bar list what’s on tap. There is wine available but didn’t pay attention to their selection(s). The menus are on clipboards laying about — offering appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc. Plenty of fried food options if that’s what you’re after. If you didn’t see the sign above the bar(I didn’t), order at the bar. Probably easiest to start a tab. No table service. Happy Hour daily. Contemporary rustic interior of reclaimed wood ship lap style lining the walls with large picnic table like tables and benches of the same hue as the walls. Some seating at the bar. If it wasn’t quite so cold out, I’d have suggested sitting outside by the fire pit. Warm Wife, Happy Wife. Four of us this day. A caesar salad, a burger of some sort, shishito peppers starter(mixed with fries), brined chicken wings, house made potato chips … and my Fun Guy Grilled Cheese and her Blackened Chicken Sandwich. Both with fries(could have opted for onion rigs or, better yet, cole slaw). Plenty of fried action on the table. The Fun Guy Grilled Cheese(sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions, with gruyère on sourdough) was pretty good. There were some blank spaces inside the sandwich getting only sourdough and a squeeze of cheese. I believe my fries were tailings of previous batches. mostly 1″ bits and super snappy. Others fries looked better. I did get some of the Blackened Chicken Sandwich. Really nice; I should have ordered that. «I try to stay away from fried foods» he says with 80% of the food on the table fried. I over indulged a bit. Overall, a nice experience. I did knock off a star for the stale fries and because the eating utensils and napkins are in holders on each(community) table. Not a fan. How many fingers handled those utensils before I sat down or sneezed in that direction. I didn’t experience any issues with beer not being cold. Located in Town Center in EDH and near the Holiday Inn Express. Turn onto Post Street and park in the back(sort of) by the hotel.

Hop house is a trendy/hipster type of pub where you order your drinks & food at the bar. There’s a large chalkboard over the bar that displays the drink choices & a good sized menu for food & other libations. The staff is friendly & quick to assist, however, somewhat nonexistent once you get your food(they bring your food to your table). We ordered the beer brined chicken wings to start & I thought they were really delicious!!! They were garlicky, crispy(not saucy) & the sauce that they use to cook them with is different, but full flavored all around. I ordered the pork belly roll which I thought was good. I liked the balance between the freshness of the diced tomatoes, sliced green onions, chimichurri sauce & the richness of the aioli style sauce they used. The pork belly was cooked perfectly… Crispy, but not overcooked to the point to where it hurts to chew it. Definitely a sandwich I would suggest to somebody that loves pork belly! My husband ordered the mushroom Swiss burger & he said that it was a disappointment. He said the bun was burnt, the meat was dry & tasted old & that the onions & mushrooms didn’t taste fresh. The drinks are where we both had a problem. I ordered a vodka tonic(I should know better than to order a mixed drink at a pub, but did it anyways) & it tasted like flat soda water(bad soda water at that). I ended up ordering a beer instead lol(ballast point victory at sea) which was a million times better than their mixed drink! My husband also ordered a beer, but again was disappointed because it wasn’t cold. I would come back with friends to give it a second try, but my husband made it very clear that he wouldn’t be returning. If it were up to the hubster, he said he’d give them 3 stars because of his experience(warm beer & disappointing burger). I’m giving them 4 stars because the only problem I encountered was the yucky mixed drink. Next time I’ll stick to what they’re good at & known for… BEER!

Very nice, very modern, very clean, excellent location. Love the outdoor patio area and a perfect spot to stop when either going up or down the hill from Sacramento. Good food and good beer selection. This was a very pleasant surprise to stumble upon.
