Doing a little Christmas shopping at Tar-jhay and needed my mid-day pick me up. As you know, the menu at Starbucks is more standardized than the SAT’s. Wherever you go it will taste the same(unless they slept thru barista 101 class). The music is the same. The chairs are the same. It’s the same everywhere(even Mexico). As I am a frequent Starbuck yuppie with a personalized Gold card packing member since 2009, I self-nominate to review the other important aspects of any business: customer service. I will admit I am a customer service captain. I look for it, will point it out when it needs improvement and likewise, will shout out when it’s awesome. Today’s customer service gold star goes to Caitlin at the Starbucks located in Target El Cajon. There were half a dozen people ordering or waiting for a drink at one time. She was quick to acknowledge every customer getting in line. Her multi-taking skills were on par, like a ninja in a swift battle to seize the golden sword. She made 4 drinks at one time, rang up two people in line and kept her upbeat poise all at the same time. Kudos to Caitlin for putting the Star in Starbucks!

The baristas are always fast, efficient, personable and beyond friendly. This is usually my go to choice considering the drive thru Starbucks next door is always busy.

Tucked neatly near the entrance of the French-run super store this franchised location struggles to keep the quality of its big brother. With employees trained to work in a Target Starbucks vs. a brick and mortar the cleanliness, friendliness and high energy baristas you might be used to. Good for a quick drink or refill or to pick up Starbucks goodies(cups etc), this is certainly not a destination ‘bucks for those on the go.
