This place has great food at a very reasonable price! The chili relleno burrito(comes with guac and sour cream unlike other places) the rolled tacos and the chicken burrito all excellent!

We used to love this place, but way to inconsistent to continue. Bean and rice burritos was the only thing that was consistently good. The reason we stopped going was we had an order where one plate of chicken was raw, the other shredded chicken was actually rancid, roll tacos were so greasy and gross they could not be eaten. I went back to complain and they said sorry… no refund, no replacement… sorry? I lost over $ 40 so I will never go there again. If you do, good luck, it can be great, but it also can be deadly.

Price wise, pretty ridiculous, $ 4 extra for chicken in a burrito.,. You order what’s on the menu but anything you want extra is EXTRA for example, you either have a veggie burrito paying extra $ 4 for chicken or you can have the regular chicken burrito that only brings rice and salsa and still pay extra for beans, cheese etc. Not customer friendly ATALL. Maybe if you speak spanish.

Two different times I ordered the grilled chicken soft tacos on Taco Tuesday. The first time they gave me chicken rolled tacos. Today they gave me beef rolled tacos.

The food here I would say is average but I was here on a Tuesday and their deal is pretty good. 1.50/taco for I think eveything except Carne Asada. Tacos are in a 6″ tortilla so these aren’t the smaller tj size tacos that are normally on specials. These are big and have loads of meat.

I had the carne asada burrito and 3 rolled tacos and they were all hot fresh and delicious. True authentic mexican food, cheap. And, as I was leaving, a cook came out of the kitchen and thanked me for coming in. Nice!

Gave this place a Second chance. I got the CA burrito and it’s a mouthful of grease. The oil was Dripping when I picked it up, even the tortilla that was wrapped drenched and soggy. I think the chief was having a bad bay and decided to make my CA burrito a Grease Burrito! Needless to say, I had to toss it in the garbage where it belongs and make myself dinner instead! I am quite sad bc I hate to cook!

Me and my friends came here in the mood for some Mexican food but weren’t pleased. The staff didnt seem friendly and looked just annoyed. And after waiting, the guy gave me the wrong burrito and came up to us after a few bites and just stood there staring at us with the right burrito. Never again. The burrito was ok, waaay too greasy though. Definitely would recommend finding somewhere else to eat.

Either bad or good reviews, I don’t usually write about anything nor complain much but seriously, this just got my attention. I ordered a California surf n turf burrito which has steak, SHRIMP, fries and all that good seasonings because I’m a seafood type of guy and I LOVESHRIMPS. Got my order and I thought there burrito was pretty big and so I got excited that I take one big bite. So I took another and another and I thought to myself why haven’t I had that Shrimp taste burst in my mouth yet. So this time I had already ate about a quarter of my burrito and so I decided to open it. B***A** M*****F*****!!! Had 2TWO shrimps at the end of the burrito! WTF!!! Well so I complained and they gave me more shrimps so that’s why I gave it an extra STAR. But what if I would’ve taking it to go??? Hmmmm… Well my first time here and definitely my last! Thank you!

This place used to be good before the change in owners. but now the food isn’t the same the food tastes salty and I’m pretty sure my beans had gone bad… very disappointing considering I used to go here every week. Will not be going back.

I love the staff good burritos and even free burritos. This place is awesome and you got a Starbucks and yogurt milk right next door for afterwards.

This place used to be really good but ever since they switched owners it sucks. Three times now we’ve ordered burritos to go and they’ve been wrong. I tried calling to complain and they could not understand a word of what I was saying. I definitely will not be going back.

We ate here a few days ago and It was so badly cooked I was shocked. Our bean and cheese burrito was free because we did a check in. I thought that was very nice of them to offer this. Unfortunately the beans were so undercooked that they were practically raw, plus they were not seasoned. They also put about a teaspoon of cheese in the burrito. So only one bite had cheese. We also ordered 5 rolled tacos and they were burnt. And finally the Carne Assad burrito was cold we had to put it in the microwave. These are very bad mistakes. Mistakes cooks usually catch. I will say the young lady who took our order was very nice. I liked her. I don’t know what happened to this place, but it’s sad because they were good.

The food here was great till they changed owners. Now they have this young guy and he really sucks. I went a few days ago and decided to take food for my mom that lives in paradise hills. So when I get to paradise hills I see my burrito had the Mexican salsa with onions and tomatoes. I had ordered this food through the phone so I made sure they knew I didn’t want onion or tomatoes on anything. Well I called and told them I can not make it back all the way from paradise hills. So the girl on the phone told me that the cook said that when I would go back that I would get a full refund on it. So I go today hungry as heck! So I get there and tell them what happen and the guy says nah man I’m the boss I never said that. Really wow! I used to come a lot now I don’t think I will again.

Earlier in the week. I went to another taco shop. I ended up leaving full but not completely satisfied. So I still had that wanting for a good carne asada burrito. So after church, driving around El Cajon. I spotted a Roberto’s on Broadway that I passed. Illegally backing up at a stop light. So happy no one was behind me at the time. I proceeded to turn into the customer parking lot. Roberto’s on Broadway and I go way back. Not this one in El Cajon though. But the Roberto’s on Broadway in Chula Vista. Been going there after I first got my driver’s license back in the day. But that is another Unilocal review. I am reviewing this Roberto’s. Apparently a offshoot from the original. The place looked very clean. Old school toy, sticker, candy and gum ball machines are waiting to take your spare quarters. They also had some video games. One in particular was Area 51 but it wasn’t turned on. I would of asked to have it turned on to play but decided next time. They did have a TV at the end of the taco shop. The TV had soccer on. A game I have found to love ever since going to Europe on vacation and then back home enjoying the World Cup. I ordered a carne asada burrito and three rolled tacos with guacamole. First off. I want to say I love their rolled tacos. Quality rolled tacos, guacamole, cheddar cheese and Mexican cheese. That’s it. Just the way it should be. Not covered with a bunch of lettuce and tomatoes to hide an inferior rolled taco and inferior guacamole like other places. Guacamole should be a bright healthy green not a dark green or a fluorescent green because they mix sour cream in it. Just say NO. The carne asada burrito was fantastic. Every bite was delicious. Hot sauce wasn’t needed but was used. Everything about my meal brings me back to familiar times. I am giving this Roberto’s 4 and a half stars. Can’t give five because my 5 is reserved for the original in Chula Vista but the Roberto’s in El Cajon is just as good as the original. Same quality from the rolled tacos to the burritos to even the hot sauce. Eat here.
