Outback Steakhouse

Fair warning… I’m a regular here. We’ve been coming here since 2001 very regularly, but if you keep reading, you will see why this makes my review even more relevant.
#1 rule of eating out is never sit in a friends section because you get crappy service. Having come here for so long, everyone is a friend. What to do?
Sit with them and hope for the best is what.
Tonight our service was good enough for me to realize how solid our service ALWAYS is here.
Fatima was just awesome. Attentive, spot on with our «regular» order… Awesome with the kid and way on top of the order all night. We love her, but had an awesome experience for the hundredth time.
These guys have really gotten ahead of the wait times that are fortunately starting to get longer and longer… Which is a good sign. Food in the lines, cocktail waitresses serving you before you are seated etc… Great to see someone manage the front of the house as well as the back.
Food is always really good here, and they are always well on top of every discrepancy, which will inevitably happen on occasion.
This is my favorite Outback by a lot, and I travel all over.
Enjoy it if you are in the area.

Food was delicious
Service … Not so great especially when they had to swipe my card four times because the waitress was so «out» that her level of reasoning was not even kindergarten grade. After the manager came out to explained the situation, and finally ran the card one more time with the correct amount and finally was able to pay the bill. So next time just bring cash and leave exact change plus tip so you don’t waste 30min just trying to pay a bill.

The food is good here like the rest, however I would probably take the trip into La Mesa. Service is good too

Ordered take out today and was craving clam chowder. Unfortunately they do not make clam chowder during the week. So I order herb chicken entrée and it was delicious. This review is for the great customer service of waiter/​cashier (young male– forgot his name) and Manager Ricki. The manager Ricki came out to my car to introduced self and apologized that they did not have clam chowder (my favorite soup). I guess the waiter/​cashier made him aware of my request. The fact that Ricki actually cared about my craving of the soup to take time to come outside and apologized definitely exceeded my expectations of the service. Thank you.

Excellent service, great food, and an all-​in-​all good experience. Came here with a coupon which was invalid, causing some disappointment, however the manager, Darrell, discussed the matter with us, and handled the situation with professionalism and genuine concern for our satisfaction. Our servers were great, and the food was good. Definitely recommend this steakhouse!

Don’t come here the worst service!!! 2 hours to receive our food!!! If it is not worsted!!! There are more restaurants in the area that have better food and service.

My husband and I use this place as we are renovating our home, since it’s just a couple blocks away. They generally get our orders right. And sometimes the presentation is just not there for our take away, looks like they threw everything in a box and shook it. But it tastes the same when you are tired and can’t cook.
My biggest issue is that when I get emails about specials on wings (my husbands go to food) they generally refuse to honor it. So we could drive 2 towns over and get it but not the one just up the street. And it’s sporadic about when the honor wing specials or don’t. Like we have to talk to the right person or something.
Sometimes when we ask for ranch only they sometimes get it right, and sometimes we get blue cheese only.

Daniel was fantastic as our server on Friday evening. We brought my 80 year old parents plus my Son and his wife out to celebrate our 18 year Anniversary. We could pick any place we wanted to eat out and we chose Outback. What a perfect choice.

We order the curbside service once a week and they have not gotten our order correct even one time. We really like their food, but my husband has Parkinson’s so he is embarrassed to eat anywhere but at home which is why we order it to go.
We always ask for extra bread, but we’ve only received extra bread on one of our orders. They missed my baked potato one time, and they missed all the additional toppings for the baked potato the next time. My husband likes extra tomatoes on his salad but that is hit and miss, and last week my husband’s ‘medium-​well done’ steak was so rare that he had issues cutting it, and he actually had to microwave it to finish cooking it.
Still, their food is good and decently priced so we continue to go back. We LOVE the blooming onion too!

Went here the other day to get my no rules pasta. It tasted so bad and i did not feel well after. Never again.

Pretty solid no frills «steakhouse». I recently tried their take away for the first time and it was convenient and well organized. The food was hot and packaged well to make it easy to transport. This place is closer to a 3.5 but all the people that worked there were so polite and helpful, what the heck 4 stars. I adore their coconut shrimp, their new steakhouse Mac and cheese was awesome, the potato soup is always a pleasure. Their steaks actually aren’t that great, I actually always pass on getting steak here. I usually do chicken or shrimp and recommend that you do the same.

for starters our waiter took a long time to bring our drinks, then by the time he brings them we were all ready to order he didint even ask and left for about 12 minutes he finally takes our order, my husband and i both orderered the parmessan pasta which was oh my spicy and no where on the menu it said it had any spicy ingridients, i can take a little spicy but my husband cant so he had three sodas which by the way the waiter took so long to bring the third that my father in law had to go to the bar and get one.
this place had terrible service and food. Another reason why my hubby and I love black Angus even when they are super busy, the service is exceptional

Actually we like this place for a relatively quick dinner for two at the bar. The food is good. Not amazing. But after a long day at work sometimes it is nice to not have to prep, make, and clean up dinner. It’s casual and the food is OK. Too many times my steak has had gristle running through it where it was inedible. Now I just order the coconut shrimp and a salad. Really I’m just there to catch up with my husband. It doesn’t need to be fancy.

Wow guys, what happened? Bloomin burger is now small and dry, with very little onion, which is suppose to be the point. The classic blue cheese wedge salad had a minimal amount of bacon and no blue cheese crumbles.
I think you just don’t care anymore. Won’t be going back.

We came in about an hour before closing to get some dinner. I ordered a dinner salad with ranch dressing. The salad was fresh and had plenty of ranch dressing on it. We shared a combination plate that came with ribs and chicken as well as fries. The ribs were really tender and flavorful. The chicken was a bit dry, but had good flavor. The fries were cooked and seasoned really well. To top it off, we had the Chocolate Thunder from Down Under, which is a warm brownie with ice cream, whip cream and chocolate syrup on top. Every part of the dessert (especially the brownie) was great.
Overall, the service was good and we didn’t feel rushed (despite it being near closing time). I’ll definitely come back.

Ridiculous! Trashy! Should be shut down. When a group of mothers decide to take a break and sit down for a nice meal but end up getting kicked out in the most unprofessional and disrespectful manner for «laughing too loud» that is when you know there is a problem. What a way to ruin someone’s evening and holiday break. Apparently «Darrell Rodriguez» thought that it would be a good idea to take out his bad mood on a group of MOTHERS and kick them out before they could even drink their water. And not just a «excuse me you are laughing too loud» type of way but rather a «get out! There’s the door!» Type of manner. Don’t worry Darrell, we’ll see after our conversation with headquarters how long until you will be directed to the location of the exit door.

Apparently medium well means bloody red. Then after the re-​fire everything else was cold. Also, seemed like they wanted us to leave– no offer for dessert (which we ordered anyways) while the manager in the area readied our table by stocking the table behind us with replacement stuff.
The were rude and unprofessional. I did write the restaurant and spoke to Darrell Rodriguez and explained what happened. He seemed genuine but promised to get back to me and didn’t.

Me and my boyfriend finally ate here for the first time! Everything was perfect. Food was delicious but service was OK. Our server didn’t really check on us or ask to get us anything. Every time we would ask for something it seemed like he was annoyed.
Great food, ok prices, and we had a coupon!
the salads are very yummy as well! And the mashed potatoes !

The food here is nothing to special. Everything is bland. Obviously the
.pretty good but then again what isn’t good when it’s deep fried.
The serivce is pretty good their quick and responsive with what they do.
Best part is the bread you get before hand… yummy

Bad, bad service tonight. We went for the special with all-​you-​can-​eat shrimp. The first sign of a problem was when the main course came out before I could finish my salad. I really hate when they are trying to take my salad before I’m done just because they either brought the salads out too late or the main course too soon.
Anyway, as soon as we received the main course, my husband asked for a refill on the shrimp. We ate and waited. While waiting, he had finished his drink, and we had to wait on a refill for that too. Finally the waiter came around and asked if he wanted a refill on the shrimp. Yes, after he had already requested it. So we waited some more. Finally the refill came out in a smaller bowl. I guess if you wanted to be there all night, you could have «all-​you-​can-​eat».
To top it off, his steak was tough. And oddly, there was no option for a satisfaction survey on the receipt. Hmmm. I guess they don’t want to know.
