Could this be the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at in my life? When you go to these hyper-Americanized Chinese buffets, the flavors should be recognizable. Many dishes don’t taste right. The best thing I got from the line was the green string beans. Perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Everything else was quite difficult to eat. Proprietors seem like nice people but they don’t seem to take pride in their product.

First off, you have to pay before you eat… Which is really weird. For $ 10 a person, there is very little to choose from. The food was cold and it’s literally one row of food. Not worth the price or the time.

What a pleasant surprise! This place delivers and the food was 1) hot, 2) in gigantic portions, and 3) VERY tasty!

Passing through Interstate 70 looking for a place to eat, noticed a China Buffet sign that enticed my palate. So we exited to check this place out. I wasn’t disappointed except that they served too much an array of chicken dishes. This is the first Chinese restaurant I’ve been to that does not have shrimp. But overall, the food was tasty and very fresh! I just have to deal with thirst later on from all the sodium I just digested.

The food was fresh, hot food was hot, cold food was cold. They had a nice variety with both spicy & mild flavors. The place was clean and staff was efficient. Price was very reasonable. We will eat here again.

It’s not the worst Chinese place I’ve been too. Effingham lacks an amazing place to get Chinese food. They haven’t had a good place to get Chinese since the 80’s. Buffets are not exactly known to have amazing food. You will not have your mind blown from anything here. You might get a case of the«gotta go poo right now» from here. I know the last few times I went here I was unlucky enough to get that. If you are looking to eat a lot of food that is lackluster, then this is the place for you. Otherwise go to Panda Express, at least there you shouldn’t get the runs and you get better quality food. Kind of sad really!

Just OK, not great not to bad. Food was hot, some of it was fresh. Lots of variety. We were in a hurry and it was a buffet. I would not go back again, many other good places to eat in Effingham. Good service.

Tasty Chinese restaurant that I’ve been going to ever since Golden China across the street(which was far superior) closed. They have a pretty sizeable buffet with decently-fresh food since there are usually so many customers who scarf it all up.

Cold, stale food and spoiled produce in cold bar. What food I was able to pick out that appeared edible was horrendous. Greasy, sloppy, nasty. They’ve got a great location, and a very cheap price for lunch buffet, but I walked out halfway through my first plate and found somewhere else to eat lunch. At around $ 6 I wasn’t too upset by the decision. The mountain dew was excellent, just as expected.

A good selection of dishes, when I went here with my sister for a lunch buffet. The staff kept bringing out more fresh food and there was a good dessert selection as well. Extra entertainment was provided by the owner giving her son a long lecture in Mandarin about behaving in school. Good thing this place is near Amtrak so I could make my train back to Chicago on time.
