Their olive oils are good, but, to me, the balsamic vinegars are the real stars of the show; they’re a huge improvement over anything that you could find in a supermarket. They have samples at the store, so if you end up going in, make sure to sample the«18-year-old balsamic» — you’ll see exactly what I mean.

Horrible customer service. Owner complained the entire time I was checking out because I was trying to use an entertainment book coupon and she didn’t want to honor it. I was annoyed but let it go. She said it was put in there without her knowledge. She continued to complain and basically acted like I walked in there only to use the coupon. I told her I was actually a regular customer. She didn’t believe me and asked when the last time I was ever there. This used to be the only place I would buy my vinegars and oils but I won’t any longer. But she doesn’t seem to mind because when she didn’t honor the coupon she said I’ll put the vinegar back«someone else will buy it». When I had every intention of making my purchase. She has enough business so losing mine won’t make a difference. And I don’t know if this makes any difference but they advertise everything is stored in stainless steel but she fills them with vinegars stored in the back in plastic.

After finding some weird residue in my just bought supermarket EVOO I grew concerned. I did a quick search to try to see if it was still good and I stumbled upon a wealth of information about how poor quality and fake most EVOO are. Since I’m trying to eat clean and eat things in there unaltered state I decided I needed to look into finding a better oil to cook with. This lead me to olive oils & more. I was overwhelmed when I opened the door of the store. There are rows of metal containers that house the product. Each one has a different name and chemistry make up. Luckily for me the lady that was working jumped up and started helping me right away. She did a wonderful job educating me about her pure oils and suggesting flavors for me to try. I can honestly say I found the whole thing fascinating and you can tell 100% that there is a difference between mega store bought oil and her oil. I also found the balsamic vinegars delicious! I can not wait to start cooking with my new oils and vinegars. I recommend everyone try it and see for themselves the huge difference! I can’t wait to go back.

Olive Oils and More– This mother/son team are versed not only on the quality difference in their products, but also in matching specific oils, vinegars and other culinary ingredients with the dishes you intend to create. Understanding and sharing the alchemy that is created when selecting and matching the perfect ingredients, whether oils, vinegars, is where they differentiate themselves. It’s encouraged to slurp! oils Strippaggio is the term used to describe the slurping employed by an olive oil taster after taking an oil sample into his or her mouth. This technique allows a complete sensory experience of the oil compared to just sipping the oil. So slurp away at this family run business. You will also discover amazing pastas, and don’t forget to return your used bottles.

I found this place because I heard in the news the olive oils you buy in the store is not true olive oil, other oils are added and not as good for you as you might think. One note call before you go to make sure it will be open. Slow days they might close early. The store is very clean and well kept all the olive and vinegars are kept in stainless steal containers. There are little cups for you to sample the different flavors. Once you choose a favorite you have 3 bottle sizes to choose from. The owners are polite and will give you an ear full of what each oil or vinegar is made and aged. hey also have different rubs for BBQ along with little gift packs and cards. If anything else it is a good place to get a little education of olive oil.

I love their balsamic vinegars and olive oils. I keep the 18 year balsamic and garlic olive oil as regulars, and rotate in something fruity for salads. The chipotle olive oil is great in chicken marinades, and the garlic olive oil gives rice sides a nice kick. Make sure to bring your bottles back in for a discount.

The owner is helping me appreciate olive oil and balsamic vinegar in a way a never thought I would. She’s very health conscious and believes that we should put only the best in our bodies, so you know all of her products are the best. She also has great ideas about what you can do with the oils and vinegars and which pair the best together. You can taste each of the oils and vinegars, and choose different sizes of bottles. I’m looking forward to try my varieties of oil and vinegar when I prepare my dishes. There’s also recipes on the website to stimulate your creativity.

I was in there on June 18th by accident. Didn’t even know it had been there since January. Tired and sniffy from dreaded allergies, I could taste and smell the most fragrant and beautiful flavors of all the olive oils and balsamics in my life. PLEASANTLYSURPRISED by the quality and selections of something so wonderful so close to home. We must keep this shop in business. This is my new haven for things that are gourmet but reasonable. About $ 12.95 for a small bottle. I bet it won’t last long at all but it’s worth it. The owner was very interesting in sharing her passion for the oils/balsamics. She has free recipes etc. I bought the tangerine balsamic which is going to be de-lish over a fruit compote or tomato brushetta with fish this summer. But the crème de la crème is the herb de provence infused olive oil. Oh my I can’t wait to soak up some grilled or roasted chicken in that. My mother bought the 18yr old balsamic which is delish when you soak your bread or cheese in it. The owner plans on expanding and importing cheeses as well. I look forward to it. I actually loved the subtle-ness of the shop it was not boring at all as the previous guy wrote. It was just right and simple to showcase the aluminum containers. Brava Oilive Oils & More… I’ll be back

I’ve seen a store like it in Downers Grove, and am familiar with the concept of drawing oils or balsamic vinegars from silver metal casks into green glass bottles that are capped and sealed by staff. There are little tasting cups next to the casks, so you can sip to your heart’s content. Balsamic Babe picked up a honey ginger vinegar, along with a herb de provencal, and a kalamata oil. She let me pick out a small bottle of basil-infused oil, which I’m thinking about drinking for breakfast with my toast. Aside from the oils and vinegars, there’s a limited selection of pasta, sauces, spices, and flour(a few gluten-free) to help you in setting up bread or an entrée to use your oil and vinegar. The staffer on duty was very friendly and a Cards fan(a plus for me). He gave us a larger bottle than we deserved for a gift certificate we brought with us. The store is pleasantly neat and decorated, even a couch near the door, but a little bit on the boringly boxy side. Perhaps it was decorated by a Germanic type like me who needs a free spirit to «feng shui» the shop a bit more. The entrance approach is not helped by its position between the vacant shells of Countrywide Financial on one side, and Gaffney Sports and Bipod Running on the other. Those shells are reminders of how unforgiving the local market can feel when the economic forecast is not as bright as it was just three or four years ago. I hope Olive Oils and More does well, but suspect it will need to focus MORE on the«and More» part to make it so.
