If I could give less than 1 star I would. Issue began 11⁄19 trying to get box to send phone in for replacement and to date, I still have not received it, but they are faithfully charging my credit card the monthly service fee without rendering services.

Are best buy electronic sales staff no longer on commission? We we headed out to look for and gain information about purchasing a new TV, Blue Ray Player, and a Complete Surround Sound System. After doing some online research I knew that I would be looking at a 6 to 7 Thousand dollar purchase. Like things do it got to a point where online doesn’t cut it any longer and I needed some professional help. The wife and I headed out, dropped the kids off with the grandparents and got in the spending money mode… Until we arrived at our Edwardsville location to look at options available and ask so much needed questions. We had to pry help away from a central desk where 4 – 5 employees were standing and shooting the breeze. It’s not like we didn’t make it obvious that we needed help. Man…, When we finally walked up to them to ASK for help, my wife and I knew more about the products on the walls and in their store then our«helper» did. It was horrible. Took us right out of the buying mood that I so rarely allow myself to get into. What A Joke.

We bought a warranty for a laptop and the battery went bad. Best Buy sent is a faulty battery, that wouldn’t work at all. We sent it back and the store cancelled the new battery order a couple times before they fixed their mistake. We just got the new battery yesterday same problem. Doesn’t work, won’t even turn on with new battery. Old battery will at least let you turn on computer. They jacked us around till warranty ran out now they can’t do anything at the store, even though stores fault. Don’t waste your money on their shady warranty. Next letter is to better business.

I will never buy a TV again from Best Buy nor will I purchase their Black tie warranty. I took my TV in to be repaired yesterday and the agent said he would send it off and it will be taken care of. Get a phone call today telling me that they will not repair the tv. I stood in line 30 minutes yesterday and listen to other customers complain about how long it takes to see an agent. The black tie warranty is very expensive compared to Wal Mart’s replacement plan that if anything needs repaired on your TV they fix it or replace it. From now on I will buy my electronics through Walmart because of their replacement warranty. It is half the cost of the black tie crap plan. The agent and the manager I spoke with on the phone at best buy could care less. Lesson learned…

The place can be hit and miss. There are some employees who offer exceptional service and some who… well… leave you never wanting to come back to the place. Still the place to get a new phone.

Bait and switch. Advertised a promotion of $ 50 off your purchase. I carefully reviewed exclusions. Attempted to purchase three different items, each of which was declined. Store rep said that there was a lot of items that it didn’t cover even if it was not listed. They said that they don’t do overrides. Ridiculous. Don’t waste your time with this location.

Potential to be a great electronics retailer, but employees usually have a way to ruin it. Had a sales person recommend one product one month and the following month tell me the exact opposite. Don’t lie to the customers, be truthful and helpful.

This Best Buy is terrible! I had somewhat bad experiences in the past, but I had one recent encounter that was completely outrageous. Where I ordered a laptop on the after Thanksgiving Day sale and then the motherboard was messed up could not be repaired. So all they were going to do was give me my money back because the same computer was not available. I didn’t want my money back because it was on a good deal and they wouldn’t replace my good deal! Crappy!

I just remembered why I don’t like shopping at Best Buy. I visited this store recently to pick up a router for my mom and a new mouse for myself. I did all of my research online before visiting the store. When I reached the computer section, I was immediately approached by an associated who asked if she could help me. I said no but that wasn’t good enough. She noticed I was looking at the routers and started asking me questions and making suggestions. I already knew what I wanted and could have found it much easier without the associated interrupting me. I picked up the router I wanted and started walking. The associate then asked me if she could help me find something else. I said no. She followed me over to the accessory section and said are you sure I can’t help you? I said no again; picked up the mouse I wanted and headed to the check out. On my way to the checkout I had two other associates ask me if they could help me. Either I look pretty clueless or these guys are paid on commission. It is very annoying to have someone to keep asking you if you need help after you have declined several times. I will stick to online shopping.

I visited to buy a new case for iPhone4, and found several options more sturdy and stunning than than Apple offers«free» to resolve reception problems. I was greeted with a smile at the door, attended to by a staff member with his own iP4, and promptly checked out by a tired-but-hard-working student cashier. Back in the 70s, 80s and 90s, people in E’ville had to take a road trip to find store that sold a large variety of the latest home electronics gear. Today, you can find much of that merchandise online. But when you need to touch it and try it out, Best Buy is the place to go.

Well it sure beat having to drive all the way out to Fairview Heights every time you need your electronics fix. Overall it’s a rather large Best Buy with a diverse selection and is well laid out. I left, however, without purchasing anything because 7 sales associates tried to hard sell me on a laptop in — I shit you not — 3 minutes. 3 minutes! Everytime I would tell one to go away and that I was just browsing, 20 seconds later a different sales associate would try the same thing, but in a very aggressive manner. So annoying that I actually left the store. I don’t know if they were getting bonuses based on commission for Black Friday or not … but it was oppressive enough to make me want to immediately leave the store. Just like you learned in Rape Prevention Class kids… NOMEANSNO.
