Best soups I have ever tasted. The quality of the soup makes up for the expense. The sandwiches are very good; they are simple but very good. They are very Friendly and have speedy service. The package deal includes a sandwich, a cup of soup, and salad. It’s a lot of food and it’s only about $ 12. And the deserts are very good and only $ 1.50. I highly recommend this place to people who like quality food made with quality ingredients. It is a little bit pricy but it’s worth it.

What a great place! Wonderful homemade soups, sandwiches & homemade rolls to die for! Their soups remind me of living in the Mid-West. Such FABULOUS flavor that you can’t get anywhere else in Washington! Their sandwiches have a great portion of meat! So filling! And customer service is top notch! This place is a hit! Take out is a must on your way to the Edmonds Ferry!

Food is just average. I got the chicken salad sandwich and mushroom soup. Sandwich was just as good as something I could get at the grocery store for half the price. The mushroom soup was mainly celery and rice, no mushroom flavor what so ever! I was told to wait 15 – 20 minutes to prepare?!? They weren’t even that busy, that place was less than half full. I ended up waiting 35 mins to get my food not to mention the 7 – 8 min wait to just order. Not a good option for a work lunch. Complete was of time and money. Will never return. Would have been happier with the P&J sandwich I made for my kid this morning.

Good soups, sandwiches and salads. They had a chicken pot pie in the works when we arrived-and will try it next time. A mom & pop operation, service is pleasant and undoubtedly a neighborhood favorite. Price is great for the quality /quantity they offer. Evolving menu offerings make this quaint place worth the try. And come back again & again!

Brought my husband here today. he is a hard nut to please. We had a delicious lunch with the expert touch only a real chef could give. I had the avacado bacon wrap… bacon. bacon…bacon! Oh my!!! My husband had the roast beef and is still talking about it… the hard nut was cracked and pleased.

A coworker brought me here for lunch today. I had the lima bean & ham soup, and a salami sandwich, which were both delicious. The cup of soup was literally served in a large coffee cup, which I liked(I often use big mugs at home for soup). And the sandwich had a good-sized pile of salami on it. Though the rye bread didn’t have much rye flavor to it — I think I’d go for wheat next time. As other reviewers have mentioned, it’s a little bit expensive. My meal was about $ 13 and I would have expected to pay closer to $ 9-$ 10 for the portion size. And I wish they had sourdough. The owners were very friendly. I appreciated that they came by to check on us. Even though it’s a little expensive, I’ll still be back.

A friend recommended the very vegetable soup here and I tried it today. It was good and the cup size actually came in a coffee cup… cute. I had a side salad with the herb dressing and the dressing was the bomb. I sat and read a book and enjoyed my lunch. The service staff was very nice and friendly.

People have been bugging me to come and check this place out. Now I can see why. The service is excellent. It’s clean as a whistle. There’s something on the menu for everyone, including gluten-free and vegetarian. We took out three of the four soups that were available that day and they were all extremely good. The thing to remember about this place is the sandwiches are also fantastic. We ordered the veggie, the bacon and avocado, and they even morphed a bacon avocado into a BLT for us! There were several dessert items I’d like to try which means I’ll just have to go back! Local? These guys make their rolls themselves, and even have their sandwich bread made by the Edmonds Bakery. Their coffee comes from a Mukilteo roaster. Throw some of your business their way. You won’t be disappointed!

Had broccoli cheese soup. .. yum! A sandwich on rye roll. .. yum! Happy to find another spot for lunch when I am at the office. It’s a little slow on the ordering process, but I think they’re still learning.

I don’t get the rave reviews. This place was beyond disappointing. Looked at me funny when asking if they could do a simple turkey sandwich for my son. The«special» i had was pretty ridiculous. Seemed like plain white bread with a little cheese melted & all served with just a pickle on the side. The concept is great but it is not being executed very well. Awkward experience. Make a sandwich at home and save your $.

I am rounding up, although I would rate this place a «meh» but the owners seem to really care about it doing well. I hope they read the reviews and revamp their system. I was surprised you had to go to the counter to grab menus and order because they were overstaffed. I have a feeling they are aiming to be fast, but with all the people working just standing around, offer table service and class up a the joint a little! I found the menu very limited. It is literally just sandwiches, soup & salad. I’m not sure why they’re even open for dinner? I think they have 3 desserts as well. I ordered a small Cobb salad and it was pretty sad. I guess I am used to the overladen salads at most places but I can’t imagine anyone but a 80 year old woman finding it a satisfactory lunch. My pregnant friend ordered a sandwich with no sprouts, for health reasons, and of course they had sprouts on it on the mustard side so you couldn’t even get them all off. We were the only people they were making food for at the time, so I’d say their system could use some work. Hey, maybe writing down orders? Everything looked good, though! Take your Nana there, folks, not your girlfriends or dudes. Personally, I’d rather go to the Teriyaki Joint across the street where you can get a way better lunch for around the same price.

Lets start with the food, delicious. Everything is fresh and and made to order. No complaints regarding food. I really enjoyed my meal. Regarding everything else, I hope that they are just working out the kinks of being new. My friend was already here when I came in, I sat down and we looked over the menu. We sat there for a pretty long time waiting to get our order taken when my friend finally got up and went to ask. You have to go up to the counter to place your order and pay. We did not know that so we were very confused. I customized my salad a little and I think I confused the guy a bit. I feel like it took some time for the three people to understand what was happening and it got a little awkward. Regardless all the employees are very friendly. I do think they need to explain how ordering works when you first walk in. **If you order soup/salad combo your only salad option is the house salad. This used to be a phở spot and the décor inside has not changed. I think this is a great food addition to five corners. I will make this a regular spot.

I love this place! The soups are all homemade, the bread is all from a local Edmonds bakery, and the desserts are all made onsite by the owner and his wife. I feel wonderful about the price point because this soup is made every single day. People, this isn’t Costco bulk frozen soup(not that Costco soup isn’t good, but their stuff is the real deal). I had the chicken noodle soup because I was feeling a cold coming on. The bowl of soup was indescribably good. Nice, tender chunks of chicken you could tell weren’t cut by some machine, with lots of herbs and awesome al dente carrots. The macaroni noodles were a beautiful touch — but the broth — oh, the broth was amazing. Not too salty, not bland at all. I just wanted to savor each and every bite. As I said earlier, I wasn’t upset at all with the price because I know the owner takes great care and love to make each of the soups. This was evident when he came out and asked how it was. The sandwich was also amazing. I got the ham with cranberry spread — the bread was actually a bun, and was so fresh. The ham was amazing with the perfect amount of lettuce. My husband also ordered a chicken salad sandwich and marveled about the flavor of the chicken salad. He said it was the best he’s ever eaten. Finally, we were treated to cheesecake — and it was for reals the best cheesecake it’s ever been my pleasure to gormandize in my entire life.(yes, gormandize is really a word — I thought using it made me sound smurt!). There was the perfect lemony flavor with beautiful raspberry swirls on the top. Oh yes, and the graham cracker crust was to die for good. So, in conclusion; if you are looking for a place to buy cheap, canned or frozen crap, stick with Campbells or Progresso. But, if you are looking for some amazing homemade soup and sandwiches that are made from local ingredients, I can’t recommend this enough.

My daughter and I were so excited to try a new restaurant close to home. When you first walk in you order at the register. We looked over the menu and I decided on a cup of soup and a sandwich. Once I realized the turkey sandwich would cost $ 8.00 I thought maybe we will split a sandwich and each of us get soup. We both ordered a small glass of milk(each were $ 1.75). The total cost was $ 24.00 for a very small cup of soup/splitting a turkey sandwich/small milk. The soup and sandwich were ok but not for the cost. I will go to Downtown Edmonds from now on for my soup and sandwiches.

A fantastic soup selection that varies day to day. I have had the Split Pea, Beef Barley and Minestrone. All are handmade in house. The Split Pea had chunks of smoked ham and was thick and creamy. The Beef Barley was very rich and so full of flavor, it was really good. The Minestrone was my favorite. It was loaded with goodness. The rolls that come with the soup are made in house and are baked to perfection. I just had a Roast Beef Roll up with horseradish mayo and it was superb. I can’t wait to try the chili and clam chowder. The restaurant is clean and inviting. Very comfortable. A great place to have a relaxing meal.

We came here on a Wednesday a little after 5:00PM a week or two after they opened. Ordering is done at the front counter and your food is brought to your table. The person taking our order was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is clean and inviting with plenty of seating. They were not very busy when we were there, but a few tables were filled. I got a hard salami sandwich and a cup of the lentil soup. It looks like their soup selection varies. This night the choices were lentil, vegetable, or chicken noodle. There are quite a few sandwiches and salads to choose from. There is a choice of mustard/mayo, horseradish /sour cream, or cranberry/mayo sauce on the sandwiches. I went with the first two sauces. My wife got a small bowl of the lentil soup, which comes with a roll. Service was very fast. I think we had our food within 5 minutes after ordering. The lentil soup was excellent. It was thick, hearty and very well flavored. Temperature was just right. My wife said the roll was very good. A note on the menu mentioned the rolls are made for them by Edmonds Bakery. My sandwich was good with a generous portion of salami on a soft sandwich roll. Ingredient quality seemed very good on all the items. The prices were a touch higher than I expected for the type of restaurant it is. A small bowl of soup is 6.50, a cup of soup is 4.50. The sandwiches range from about 5.50 to 8.75. My salami sandwich and Cup of soup came to 11.25. There is a package deal that comes with a sandwich, cup of soup, and a salad for 12.75. This seems like a good deal when you consider the individual prices. Overall this was a very good experience. The food was very good, which explains the price point somewhat. We will be back.
