Back to Chanterelle! Come here every time we’re in Edmonds. Tonight I had Old School Fish Tacos. Very excellent with Swai fish — a mild white river fish(looked it up on Google before ordering it!) My husband had one of the specials — Spaghetti Squash with quinoa; «bland and uninteresting». We are taking it home to spice it up but the texture was really good. He had clam chowder, «excellent» and Caesar salad, «excellent». Finished off our meal with our favorite, key lime pie, «excellent»!! Talked with owner, Brook, who is omnipresent; never been here when Brook was absent. Great place to eat and reasonably priced. Give a try. You will not be disappointed(just don’t order Spaghetti squash with quinoa).

Again, for Edmonds it’s a fiver. Jambalaya, artichoke Linguini, fresh warm bread, pecan pie with bourbon all faultless. They now have a full bar. We were greeted by very cordial Brooke, the owner. We’ll return. OK, we returned three months later so this is another review. This time we tried and very much liked the Old School fish tacos, the clam chowder, the Caesar salad, the fresh rolls and the key lime pie. All very fine. I decided to try something unusual so I ordered the spaghetti squash with quinoa from the Specials menu. Big mistake for me and for Chanterelle too. It was eminently forgettable — flavorless in the extreme. I only ate about a quarter of it and we’ll take the rest home. We will try to save it but I’m doubtful. My guess is that it will never reappear on their menu. Chanterelle is good enough that I’m giving it a pass on this one.

I can’t get past the tomato soup. It is so outstanding and distinctive that nothing else about this lovely bistro(with generally very nice food service and ambiance) matters, I just want to buy the soup by the gallon, put it in a big pot on my stove and unabashedly tell people I made it … it is THAT good. Seriously the menu is varied and interesting, the service is always good and the food is always nice. Chantelle would be a welcome addition to any neighborhood and it serves the Edmonds waterfront particularly well.

On a Friday morning, my 3 year old son and I thought we would try this place. Looked kinda interesting from the outside and other pictures on Unilocal. There was only one other couple in the restaurant. Had one of their Eggs Benedict with a side of Sausage. Not bad. However, my son was playing with my phone and we were told to turn off the sound. It wasn’t even that loud and the restaurant was almost empty. Didn’t feel very welcomed from that point. Don’t think I would recommend this place. Nothing special. Lots of others in the area.

I can’t speak to all of food, but I ordered the black bean burrito(with no cheese). Normally, when I order a burrito and ask for no cheese or diary, its filled with beans, rice, salsa, guacamole, lettuce and often fajita veggies and is hard to do wrong. This burrito, which has large, literally only had black beans in it. It was like they dumped 2 cans of black beans and rolled the tortilla up. Then on the plate was a side of the ketchup-like salsa you get in a jar on the shelf at a store, then some pieces of lettuce that wilted and stuck to the plate, since the plate was so hot. Again, I don’t know how the rest of their food is, but even if you eat cheese, I would not get their black bean burrito.

The good: very attentive service for my lunch rendezvous, and we snagged a nice table for two right by the window. The bad: the $ 6.99 «small spinach salad.» Limp on delivery, the miserly salad barely covered a side-salad sized plate. For $ 7 I expected more than 4 forkfuls of spinach! Come on, Chanterelle. My serving was 20¢ worth of spinach(I buy a lot of spinach) with about five almond slices. My advice to others: ask how big the servings are before ordering.

Sunday Brunch is the perfect time to go to Chanterelle. I enjoyed the traditional eggs benedict — my friend the crab benedict. Both were great. The eggs were a bit over poached — but still very well done. I would go again for sure! The service was very good.

It could have been lovely. It started off that way. I was meeting a friend for her birthday dinner, and it was Dine Out Edmonds. We had both looked over the menu online and were really excited. When ordering, my friend mentioned to the server that she had a bad egg allergy and asked about the different items to ensure she wouldn’t have an abrupt departure. After a couple consultations with the cook, the server assured my friend that what she was ordering would have no eggs in it. The first course came out, and we had both ordered the chop salad. I hungrily dove right in, and my friend took a bit as well. Then she looked closely at what she was eating and asked«does this white dressing seem mayo-y to you?» I didn’t think so, but suggested she wait before eating any more so that we could double-check with our server. She soon came over to check on us, and my friend mentioned the dressing. The server’s face fell, and we soon found out that yes, the salad that we had been assured was egg-free did indeed have mayonnaise. Apparently the cook wasn’t aware that mayonnaise contains eggs. My friend chose to leave immediately since she has had extremely severe reactions and preferred to get home as quickly as possible. The staff bagged up the rest of the food and comped our meals, and apologized profusely. While I understand that they did their best to right the situation, I was quite disappointed with the cook for providing false information. Allergies are not something to be taken lightly, and in this, Chanterelle failed.

Friendly service and if your timing is right, no long wait for a table. We usually come for breakfast or brunch since we love their sausage links– but lunch has some good choices too! Quintessential Edmonds charm!

Portions were just right, service friendly and professional and food fresh and seasonal. We finished the meal with a Coconut cream cake and dark chocolate raspberry torte. COCONUTCAKE wins 3 out of 4 votes.

My first time trying this place out and was very disappointing. Coffee had to be sent back because it was basically coffee-tea, Eggs Benedict was incredibly uninspired, yolks hard, muffin gross, fruit on the side was not very fresh, etc etc etc… Please get your s*%t together.

Like others I have to RAVE about the Tomato Bisque. Would love to come back in winter for toasted cheese sandwich & bisque. Great wait staff & pleasant atmosphere. Had the Red Thai Mussels which were good but not at all spicey. My friend loved the bread & I loved that they brought plenty of butter instead of the usual 2 pats. The lemon bar totally ordinary. Was hoping for real lemony flavor & shortbread crust… oh well. something else next time. Because what is dinner w/o dessert? They do have a TV but it is behind the bar & barely discernible… thank you! I always wonder if the questionnaire asking if it has TV means… will I come or not come if it has TV? When did eating out require a business to have TV unless they are a sports bar?

My wife and have been to Chanterelle total of 5 times starting in November 2014. Our first three visits were great, good service, good food. The 4th visit in February 2015 wasn’t as good as the first three. The food took forever and wasn’t as hot as it should be, the eggs were barely warm enough to eat the hash brown potatoes less so. Since our first three visits were great, we gave them some slack for this visit. We went again beginning of July 2015. Service was good, the waitress was very friendly, energetic, and attentive. However, the food again took a long time, and left much to be desired. The hash browns were cold, and the omelet I had was greasy and unappetizing. We really wanted to like this place, but we won’t be going back.

Been here a few times with my BFF’s and had an enjoyable time and great food. Last nite was a different experience. Excellent food, over the top what they did for me with stir-fry veggies! Great service, lovely setting. Great evening with my family –will be back! Desserts are amazing… Coconut cake is sin in a bite.

Arrived just after 8am when they opened, and there was a small wait to be seated. This is a popular local place. If you don’t have children, you will have a much less wait. Had the breakfast burrito, which was quite large and tasted great. Service was great. My coffee and water were promptly filled, and we were checked on regularly. Everyone in our group were quite happy with our meals and full.

After the remodel I feel like the place is picking up. Still love the coffee and the staff, save for the owners, who’s attitudes are as fake as it gets but other than that I enjoy the food, coffee and wine!

I was there couple of weeks ago with my girlfriend for Sunday breakfast. The food is decent, the service is mediocre at best, but location is convenient to the ferry. I gave it one star is because on that day & at the end of everything, I signed the bill for $ 27.95 plus tip, only to find out that night when I got home that they charged me $ 277.95. Yup, two hundred & seventy seven dollars. When I called the restaurant the next day, the owner offered to mail me a check for the difference. He later called to say that they canceled the transaction & it should go away from my account in a day at most. But guess what, that transactions stayed on my account until the end of the day the following Friday. The owner didn’t offer anything for my troubles, I could’ve sued for overdraft fees & not to mention the heartach they’ve caused me. I WON’T be visiting this place ever again!

The service was great and the atmosphere was a much older crowd, the food portions were also decent. The pancake was a tad bit dry but other then that I had the spicy western which left me pretty satisfied,(it wasn’t spicy but it was good)

I am so glad I found this place. It’s cozy, and so cute. We were promptly greeted when we walked in. We were starving and were«those people» walking in a half hour before close. That didn’t impact the service. Our server was prompt, nice, and well-educated about the menu. The food was good as well. I LOVED their menu. It was different, innovative, and clearly had a healthy touch. Kale in their gnocchi. Quinoa as a side dish. Etc. I will definitely be back. Oh, had their salted caramel vanilla cake and it was awesome!
