This place is delicious! My fiancé and I are huge fans of phở. We have tried a lot of places in the middlesex county area. This place is one of our favorites. It has the best tasting broth, hands down. Their portions are also big which is always a good thing. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good phở experience.(We only went once, haven’t tried entrès yet)

Came here for lunch on Father’s day. The space is very welcoming. i.e. nice, bright, and clean. We shared the fried egg rolls and grilled pork wrapped in rice paper. For my meal, I had the phở tai gau(steak w/beef brisket). Fried egg rolls and phở are my usual go-to’s when I go out for Vietnamese food. Both were good, but pretty standard. Some sriracha always helps give phở a little kick.

They do an excellent job. Their phở broth tastes great. They have delicious Vietnamese sandwiches, but they are in demand! We have been there like 10x and 3 of those times, they ran out of their freshly baked French Vietnamese bread. :(If that happens to you, it’s worth the return trip back to have their sandwiches. Note, they have a deal, buy 4 sandwiches and get one free. A lot of local families will clear out their stock for the day by taking advantage of the deal.

Need a good casual phở spot for lunch? Well, you found it. Came here to satisfy my phở craving, and it definitely did the trick. The space is very bright and open with tons of space to enjoy your meal. I ordered the phở with beef eye-of-round and brisket. The broth was extremely flavorful! I think the beef was a bit overcooked, as I prefer my phở served with tender rare beef. The hot tea was very tasty too. They also serve many other Vietnamese dishes, noodle and rice plates, which may be a good option as well. They looked filling since they come with meat, rice, veggies, egg, but I’m more of a phở fan so I’ll stick to the soup. I would definitely return and next time I’d want to try their banh mi. They seem to be advertising it a lot, so it may be an underrated product. Buy 5 get 1 free? Maybe if we had a large enough party next time. I’d say if you’re looking for a quick an enjoyable lunch, or just need a warm and tasty bowl of phở you should stop in. And please let me know how the banh mi is!

I just ate here an hour back and I would rate this place a good 4⁄5. It’s not spectacular because their food is simple but it’s very delicious. It’s had to find places like these at times. You’re not going to taste it and be like«Oh this is the Best Phở I have had» nor are you going to be like«It is just OK». But you’re going to be satisfied with the taste and quantity. The broth has a lot of flavour and spices in them. The grilled pork chop in my Phở was a 5⁄5. It was sweet and spicy, fresh and tender and plentiful. It’s inexpensive and staff is very friendly. BYOB. I’ll go back.

Phở Anh Dao is not a bad place if you are looking to get your Phở craving satisfied! Everything here for me was pretty average though. The space is nicer, and if you remember their old location, this one is much better and spacier. For appetizer I tried the deep fried Viet egg rolls which were not bad. They are crispy and hot, so I recommend using the lettuce to wrap around the egg roll and dip in sauce to cool it down a little, or else you will burn your tongue! I got the combo phở which had a variety of beef in it. The broth itself was okay, as it lacked some flavor and tasted a little watered down. I added some sauces and spice to it to make the soup taste better. I had no complaints for the beef itself in the soup. The noodles were satisfactory. The service here is a plus, as I feel they are attentive and and the food comes out pretty quick. When it is busy they seem to have a fast customer turnover rate.

I’m rating 5 star because my colleague and I came here for an early lunch yesterday 4.4.16 and not only was the food super delicious, but the staff service was awesome. We both had #24 with the rare steak and beef tripe. It was a pretty big bowl and the meat to noodle to broth ratio was perfect. Now I do see some off reviews here, so I’m guessing others came on a bad day, but honestly if you come when it’s slow you’ll be taken care of like no other.

Went to this place during lunch hour on a Sunday, maybe not the best of ideas. However I am a patient person so waiting wasn’t a big deal. I ordered the Phở Tom(Shrimp Phở) with Thai Tea, this is my go to staple because I love it. The food was quick, service was as quick as it could be for a very busy time with larger groups. I did see a gentleman walk out which I think he was just super impatient since he didn’t wait for someone to seat him and notice that he was there. The food: The portion was more than plenty for the amount I usually eat, unless you’re someone who requires a larger meal I would suggest ordering an appetizer too. The broth was tasty and the shrimp were a little over done but this could be because they were sitting in the broth too long? This place uses egg noodles, as opposed to the other place I’ve tried that uses rice noodles. Still a good texture just a bit heavier, might be why I did not finish all of the broth itself. Optional condiments such as sriracha sauce, soy, and various other spices. I also ordered the Green Tea ice cream, which if you’re used to a smoother texture on your tongue you will not enjoy theirs. I was a little off-put by this realization because of how gritty the ice cream was. The taste itself was a darker tea flavor but still good nonetheless just be aware that the texture is not the usually soft texture. The staff was attentive thought I think on Sunday’s during lunch time they need at least another person(4 people at the time). I will be going back because of the cleanliness and friendly atmosphere.

This place is very clean and the staff are polite, however, the food is not that great. The broth of their phở is mediocre, especially compared to the Vietnamese restaurant down the street(Baguette Delight). I prefer a thicker and tastier broth, but many people seem to like the ‘clean’ taste. I also tried their bbq pork banh mi(the sandwich) which was tasty but again, not as good as Baguette Delight. Another soup dish I tried was bun bo hue which is a soup and noodle dish with beef and pig’s feet. It was definitely different but tasty. If you’re looking for something more traditional, this may be a good pick. Overall, this place is mediocre but has a large selection of food. It may be a good place to try out, but I probably won’t be going back.

Great food — I had the beef sauté with rice noodles and my friend had the chicken phở. Both were flavorful. I was a bit skeptical that beef would be fatty and have gristle, like some other Asian places but was very happy that it wasn’t :) i would recommend this place for vietnamese food anytime. Can’t wait to go back in the warmer weather and try the salads. With the entrees and the spring roll appetizer the check was at $ 23 — can’t beat that!

Haven’t been here since they moved from across from the Skylark Diner so we were eager to check it out. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was how packed it was. The place was much larger than their old site plus the décor was quite nice. We had wanted phở but it was just unbearably hot in there as they had the heat blasting. Not to mention, it was a warm day outside, almost 60° in February. We both ordered the cold noodles with the egg rolls and bbq meat. It was good except a bit dry. I wish it came with a bit more fish sauce. Also, I noticed the prices went up again. Other than that, not a bad place to go for a viet fix.

I like this place a lot. When I moved to the area, I was looking for a decent Vietnamese restaurant. A friend recommended Phở Anh Dao to me. I am forever grateful. Phở is very good. I love the broth, the noodles, etc. The spring rolls, which are my favorite non-main dish item, are fresh. The rice dishes(like rice with BBQ chicken or BBQ pork, etc.) are very good also. I have never ordered anything at this place that I did not like. I also take my close friends here. They all have said that they liked it. So if you want good Vietnamese food around central Jersey, try Phở Anh Dao.

A solid lunch or dinner place. My roommate and I always head here on rainy days, because phở is definitely rainy day food. We may not be experts on phở, but we have to say that this is one of the best phở places we have ever been to. Our food comes out fast – even when we’re grabbing food before class or work, we can go in and out with no problem. We’ve gone there so often that we have become familiar with Joan(who we believe is the owner). She always gives us great service, and we have noticed that she treats everyone else very well. Always friendly and welcoming. We can see her waving as soon as we walk up to the restaurant. Even from the beginning, we’ve never had a problem with the service. The phở is refreshing. Fresh ingredients and a solid broth. We are always satisfied afterwards. However, one time I did try their BBQ pork over rice dish, and I wasn’t exactly the biggest fan. It adopted a western style that took away from the authenticity of that dish. The fried egg rolls are awesome, and you can even see them hand-make them if you go in at the right time. We will be returning here on a regular for the years to come. :)

I love their broth; however, unfortunately, I’m not a huge fan of their phở. I’ve never tried an authentic phở, so I can’t judge the authenticity of their phở, but definitely not one of my favorite place to go for. I have to say that their portion is huge. They are very generous in terms of giving«a lot» of foods. Quantity wise, you are going to love this place; however, quality wise… I wouldn’t recommend. The pork seemed like it was in the freezer for awhile. It wasn’t juicy at all, was very hard to chew, and tasted very weird. Also their noodles broke very easily. Whenever I would grab/pick a portion of a noodle to eat, they would just break. However I liked their service: all the Staffs were very friendly! However, I didn’t fully enjoy the meal.

A great lunch place in Edison. Their phở is always on point, with an excellent broth and tender meat. Portions here are fairly generous as well. With the move to the new location, looks like prices have gone up a bit. The XL phở now runs $ 9.50, which is actually more than what I would pay in the city. :(

Not a big fan of Vietnamese cuisine(especially phở), however I’ve been to this place three times and I’d like to let you all know how I feel of the restaurant. I’ll break it down into four categories. FOOD: Today, I ordered BBQ pork and pulled pork, served with an egg patty and white rice. The dish is alright, nothing special. The pork was a little dry and a bit burnt, however it still tasted okay. The egg was deliciously crunchy, cooked sunny-side. Doused it with some chili paste and sriracha I got that spice I wanted. I know most of you are more interested in the phở, however I’m just not a big fan; so this is for the people just like me who want a taste of Vietnamese food other than phở. SERVICE: Service is mediocre. I went during lunch and it was pretty much empty, only two-three tables of one person each. This is probably why my food came out quicker than I expected, however I still had to wait a bit before my cup of water was filled and I needed to ask for straws. PRICE:My dish cost $ 10 and honestly I don’t believe it was worth that much. There was not that much pork on my plate however I always have excess rice. For a dish that’s just«alright», I don’t believe it should be that expensive. My GF beef phở cost her $ 9 and it was a pretty big bowl, yet she couldn’t finish it. Why don’t they have smaller sizes? ALSO! This place requires a MINIMUM of $ 15 for CREDITCARDS, which is ILLEGAL. By law they are only allowed to go up to $ 10 and must treat all cards the same. People use plastic, get with the program… ATMOSPHERE: Place is casual, so no need to dress up. Plenty of tables in this place. During the weekend evenings, the place does become a bit full however I never had to wait to be seated. There are TVs to keep you occupied in case there’s nothing to talk about with your friends and family. Overall, this place is decent. If you’re looking for something«amazing», I don’t think this is the place. However if you want something to fill your stomach and you’re craving Vietnamese cuisine, try this place out.

3.5 Stars Not a bad place if you want to get your phở cravings fixed! Sometimes, I get phở in the summer, but it’s definitely for suitable for me in the winter time. There are many times when I’m just sick of the cold and want to slurp down some hot and tasty bowl of phở! Here’s the spot where I usually hit up. It’s conveniently located on route 1. The service is quick and speedy! The last time I came here, I came alone, and the waiter immediately greeted me as I walked in. I ordered the fresh Viet egg rolls and phở with beef briskets. It was my first time eating the fresh VIet egg rolls, and I thought it was okay. I was not a fan of the rice paper wraps, but the shrimps were very bouncy. The taste was simple and a little bland, but dipping it in the peanut sauce made it much better. The phở was satisfying! Hot and steamy! Plus, they were generous with the beef slices. The broth was okay — could be more flavorful but still not bad.

This still is the best Vietnamese place to go to around Edison. I preferred the old location because it was more close and tight. At the end of the day, the place might look different but they still produce great food. We usually start with the spring rolls. Followed by the shrimp pancake(which is amazing). Then I usually finish with some chinese sausage, 3 eggs, and fried rice meal. But the Phở in itself is good.

I had lunch with a large group this past weekend, and the service we received was both quick and friendly! The food was your typical Vietnamese fair and the décor was a bit unusual with lime green walls and Halloween-y tree branch stencils. Upon entering, we were immediately accommodated about midway in the restaurant at a large round table. After looking through the menu, I ordered the crispy spring rolls and #60 barbecued pork with white rice. The Filipina woman who took our order was sure to check in on us after we received our food. She offered us excellent service! The barbecued pork was haphazardly chopped up with little bits of fat. The pork was sweet and salty and tasted delicious in the fish sauce! However, it would have been nice if the pork was grilled and had some of that charred flavor expected with a barbecued dish. The spring rolls were tasty and served fresh from the fryer. Definitely be careful! I dipped them in the fish sauce as well, which boosted the flavor. The rest of my group ordered a variety of dishes including phở with fish balls, string beans in sauce, vermicelli noodles, etc. Everyone seemed very satisfied with their meals. The restaurant appeared to be bright and clean. Since we were there during lunch on a Saturday, the place was really hopping! The décor was kind of weird and had an Asian-Halloween vibe with neon green walls and black tree branch stencils. There were also several flat screen tvs. With their prompt service, the tables had some good turnover so you can be in-and-out relatively quickly if needed. I imagine once you find your perfect comfort dish there, this is a great go-to restaurant!

Pretty decent Vietnamese food, the new location is an upgrade from the dingier previous location. Very friendly service. It’s not the best phở I’ve had, but it’s good and they have multiple varieties. Had the beef wrapped in grape leaves to share as a starter which was delicious and much lighter than I’d expected. A good place if you’re in the area to get your phở fix.

This new location is much more appealing. It’s spacious and stands out – there are plenty of booths, too. The staff is friendly and on point with the service. Ca Phe Sua Da($ 3): Whoever brewed it made a good batch. He/she added plenty of condensed milk; you could still taste the strong coffee even if you mix it really well. Muc Chien($ 9): The price is too steep for the amount of calamari I got. However, the batter was really crispy and the squid wasn’t over cooked at all. It comes with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce, but they’re fine on their own. Bun Bo Hue($ 9): I really enjoyed the broth; it had the perfect spiciness and didn’t have a strong fish sauce taste. There’s only one size, an XL bowl, but it fills you up pretty well. While I wish there were blood cakes and tripe, there was plenty of flank and noodles. More importantly, I received TWO pretty large gio heo – I was so excited when I saw them! They were flavorful and soaked up the broth. However, if I was to ding Phở Anh Dao on another thing, it would actually be the gio heo. The smaller one I got was great – the skin, fat, and meat were easy to eat. However, the larger one was way too tough. I tried to rip off the fatty skin from the meat but it wouldn’t budge, so I ended up getting only a few bites out of it. Overall, I wouldn’t mind coming back. The food was good and the prices were solid – I’d give this place a 3.5÷5 for now.

Always been a fan of this place. Recently went to their new(moved) location in the ShopRite plaza and it was nice, bigger, very clean and up to date versus their previous location. Ordered the spring rolls which were amazing along with nice pieces of lettuce. The phở was alright but they lose a few points this time as the tendon(I love tendon) pieces were quite tough, chewy, and not as soft as I expected it to usually be. Will definitely try it again next time I come but that would be a huge miss for me. One thing I would like to note is that they are slightly on the expensive side compared to other places in the area, around $ 9 – 10 for a bowl of phở. I wish they had small/large options as both my friend and I were struggling to finish the bowl, but didn’t want any food to go to waste.

I have one word to describe my experience here and that is Disappointment. I ordered phở while my friend ordered a dish with chicken(I forgot the name). We also ordered a Thai iced Tea and Coffee. For the appetizer my friend and I shared calamari. The calamari was delicious. It was hot and its dipping sauce made it irresistible. The phở was okay. I have had better. My friend’s chicken dish was a disappointment. She had of a few bites of it before giving up. The Thai tea and coffee was a joke. It was so ridiculously sweet that we had to ask for it to be diluted in water. It was still rather sweet after the dilution though. On the bright side the service was excellent. The waitress accommodated us well with all of our complaints. However I do not think I would come here again willingly.

I found my new favorite Phở/Vietnames resturant in NJ! I would highly recommend the grilled beef in grape leaves as an appetizer ! Normally I can’t stand the taste of grape leaves but this was completely out of this world !!! We dipped them in hot sauce, so good !! I would also reccomend their wonton soup appitizer. The wontons were definitely homemade and the broth was so tasty. The wontons were slightly falling apart but whatever, still taste good. The staff is super friendly and attentive! The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was their bright green wall, it looks sorta funny and out of place and tacky. Overall great dinning experience and I’m looking forward to becoming a regular here !

Good tasting phở though the meat is a bit scarce. To be fair, they served a somewhat decent portion of meat with the phở, probably more than any other Jersey Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to. However its just not much compared to the delicious meaty phở I’ve enjoyed served in NY, MD, or Vancouver. The broth and the noodles were both good. Ingredients tasted fresh. The summer rolls were a bit bland for my tastes due to the proportions of having too little shrimp inside each roll and a lot of rice noodle packed in. The service is friendly and food is served fast. Prices for food are a bit high(I guess average for the area) and the suggested gratuity of 18−20% when you pay your bill is a bit much. Nice décor and clean, well run place. I’ll give it 4 stars since it was probably the best Vietnamese I’ve had so far in Jersey.

I started with the fresh summer rolls with shrimp, which came with a thick and slightly sweet, peanut sauce. A second round was ordered just for my lunch date. The rare beef phở that I ordered was nearly perfect — the only thing I would criticize was that the broth was a little too salty for my liking(and I tend to LOVE salty broth). Of course it’s also up to you to doctor your bowl with lime, basil, bean sprouts, hot sauce and hoisin. It was a satisfying size, I was just able to finish the noodles and beef. Had I not been so full I would have loved to have tried a cup of Vietnamese coffee, but that will have to wait until next time…

I very much wanted to give this place 4 stars because my shrimp phở was so satisfying and this was my first meal of 2015. The broth was clear and clean compared to the beef phở, but just as tasty! Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience with the other orders. My mom always orders phở with tripe and beef. The tripe looked funny. The summer rolls might as well have been noodle rolls, given how much noodle was stuffed in it, and the pork did not have enough flavor. Coming from Ohio, this place proved underwhelming for me, which says something about the disappointing quality here or the unusually good phở in Columbus(yes, it’s true!). Although this place satisfied stomach-rumbling, post-NYE cravings, a less hungry person would’ve been less happy with the quality here. $ 8.80 per bowl of phở is not cheap. On top of this, they recommend 20% gratuity, which seems excessive for a quick lunch.
