Edgewater Kung FU

I enrolled my 4 year old son here a short time ago, and his transformation has been amazing. Initially he was shy, a bit uncoordinated, but now is more confident and his coordination has improved greatly. The instructor Lao Sher Robinson has an amazing ability to connect with his students, and they are able to absorb the Kung-​Fu techniques that Sifu Karl Romain has devoted his life to sharing with his students. The staff are all supportive and truly an asset to this school. If you want something different than the Tae Kwon Do school on every corner, this is it. Sifu Romain is a world champion martial artist, and the kind of role model that kids nowadays need!

We’ve had our children going to this place for a few years now. The teachers are nice, the schedule offers a lot of options for classes. It is very over-​priced however. The worse part is that not only is it so over-​priced, but if you want your kids to advance to sparring or weapons training, they double your monthly fee and use your kids as leverage. First they got our girls excited about sparring and only after the fact they told us about the huge price increase. We had to cave because the kids were already set on advancing. I think that the prices should be more reasonable: their overhead is not that high and just because it’s Edgewater, it doesn’t mean everyone is rich. They should discuss advancement classes with parents first, instead of the children. If we had another Kung Fu place in Edgewater, we would have switched. Otherwise we are stuck because we’ve gone for years and it’s a local place.
