There are only a few times in my life when I have felt compelled to write a review and my recent visit to captain porkys bait and tackle is one of them. The prices are absurdly high (2x the price of larrys tackle) with even a box of squid costing 6.50 $. To add to this fiasco of a tackle shop— if I even dare call it one– the woman who runs it is one of the most snide and disagreeable people I have ever met. When I questioned the exorbitant prices, I was barraged with a spate of vicious replies and attacks instead of a decent answer! Save yourself the time and money and visit a better shop like larrys

Nice selection of fishing gear, frozen bait, and Martha’s Vineyard paraphernalia! Have been coming here for years and I’ve never been disappointed. The owners are very nice and knowledgeable, and they can help you to find exactly what you need. It’s also a perfect place to buy bait for the nearby wharf! Whether fishing on your own, with friends, or with kids, squid is almost always a good choice there.

Throw in a few Nautical and/​or Martha’s Vineyard themed gifts and souvenirs and it’s worth checking out while in Edgartown, especially if you want to get out on the water and catch yourself a fish!
