We stopped in for lunch. Casual atmosphere that is great for a slow summer day. It is nice to sit on the deck and watch the boats go by. We got the fish tacos — decent. Next time I would try something different… The mussels looked so good!

I tried to go here with friends on a weekend away and quickly found out that anyone under 25 without a MA state ID isn’t allowed after 9pm. They were also quite rude about this and offered no explanation. can’t imagine they won’t lose a ton of business over this. no longer a good night spot.

Be warned: must be 25 if using an out of state ID after 9 pm! No exceptions, and not very friendly about the rules :(go elsewhere!

Love it here — great view & service. Menu is huge & includes sushi. Lobster special at $ 19.99 is awesome + unexpected craft cocktail menu has something for everyone.

We had lunch here this past week and I was pleasantly surprised, I was expecting really overpriced mediocre food but it was actually delicious! I got the lobster roll which was HUGE and my husband really liked his sushi. Our waitress Colleen was great, and so was the view!

Love it here. Everything was fresh and tasty, from the lobster roll, fish sandwich, and wraps, to crispy french fries. Generous portions — ideal for splitting if you’re dying to try additional items like the clam chowder, etc.

A friend of mine had recommended the seafood shanty when in Edgartown. Place was easy enough to find and seating was not a problem. Was seated right away and Was able to sit upstairs and enjoy the great views and outdoor weather. Our server was fantastic and everyone was attentive from the hostess to the busboys. Bathroom– clean and spacious unlike other places we had visited on the cape. Food– we ordered a salad/tenders/and clam chowder/Cajun shrimp boil. They had a great boiled lobster special that was the cheapest that I had seen while vacationing. Definitely a great special!!! Food was fresh, came out quickly, and tasty. Would definitely recommend everyone to come here if visiting.

We wanted Martha’s Vineyard’s Local Seafood so that’s what we ordered. The baked scrod(Atlantic Cod) was masterfully prepared. My husband had the Fisherman’s Platter of clams, shellfish, and cod. The oil looked clean, and the batter was light and tasty. Excellent! Even the clam chowder starter was delicious.

Just got done with a great dinner at Seafood Shanty. First, our server Colleen was fantastic. My wife ordered the 1.5lb lobster special(came with fries or baked potato) for $ 25. She really enjoyed the lobster — it was prepared perfectly. I had the chowder and it was the best I had on the island. I also had the sushi(Shrimp Tempura) and it was very tasty. My son had a kids meal and enjoyed it(pretty lame to charge an extra $ 1.50 for milk on a kids meal though). My wife had some house wine, and I had a Mojito — both were fine. The view and ambience of the restaurant was great, we were really happened that we ignored the average 3 star reviews and came to eat here tonight.

Small menu but a great location and the food was definitely good. I had the fried whole clams and my wife ordered the Martha’s Vinyard sushi roll. Good atmosphere, good views and good drinks.

Excellent restaurant by the water. Recommended by our tour bus driver. Place was busy but still operating at a high level. Apps came out fast and so did our main courses. Pricey as you would expect in MV, totally worth it tho. Defenetly will be back.

Great view and relaxing place for a afternoon drink and seafood meal. On the pricy side for things especially with drinks. I got the lobster roll and the fried calamari(the sauce is to die for)! And strawberry daiquiri was very very good, so is the mudslide. The iced tea(with beer?) forgot the name of it was definitely too watery and the only thing we didn’t like. Overall pretty good!

Fabulous view and great food. Wide selection of seafood with a little bit for the landlubber. I had the Blooody Mary with shrimp and enjoyed it. The lobster role was to die for! Service is prompt and it’s obvious they’ve earned their reputation in Edgartown. Sit on the upstairs deck if you can.

Wow, what a view! Seafood Shanty is big, lots of seating inside and outside. Outside is where you want to be. They have a great view of the ocean and the harbor. FYI, free popcorn! Food and drinks were good. Everything came out very timely. Especially considering the place was packed at like 4 pm on a Friday. I thought the clam chowder was better than the lobster bisque but I’m biased towards the former so take that with a grain of salt. The lobster roll was delicious! My mahi mahi sandwich was damn good especially with the side of chipotle sauce they give you. I thought the sushi was just ok. If you come to this place, I will make one recommendation: get the lobster quesadilla appetizer thing. That’s not what it’s called on the menu, totally forgot the real name. You’ll figure it out. It was cheesy, lobstery goodness in a quesadilla. Try it.

My wife and I came to the island without itinerary, we adventure on our own and decide to explore Martha’s Vineyards, we came to Edgartown for lunch, after walking thru town we saw the Seafood Shanty, at first we felt in love with the location of it, right on the dock. Our server excellent, we got food on good time, we order for appetizer California Roll and Lobster bisque, it was good, then we order two lobster rolls, they were very big, and full of freshness, big pieces of lobster, it was served with a side salad witch I think is a great idea. We left the shanty very happy with our culinary experience. Definitely we are coming back next time we come to the island.

The rooftop is the reason to come here! They boast the biggest lobster roll on MV and I’ve posted a pic for you. I had the fried shrimp basket… crisp, fresh, and clean… just how I like my shrimp. Everything passing me looked good too. The drinks are pretty decent. i saw a bloody mary pass me and it looks phenomenal. Get one! The person next to me says her fish and chips were mediocre *shrug* anyway… enjoy!

Seafood Shanty has the best water/boat views in Edgartown. You’ll always find it very crowded and a little chaotic at times. Typical bar/food menu. The drinks were ok. Many of my friends here felt they were weak(too dilute). Our server has been working at the Shanty for many years and it was obvious he is burned out. I’m sure all the tourist have been getting on his nerves. Go to the Shanty for the awesome view, and to connect with and meet new friends.
