I really liked this place. I have been for breakfast and dinner and although both were good dinner was far better. Let’s break it down… Food — The food was amazing. I had the lobster mac and cheese(something I order as frequently as I can from any establishment that has it on the menu) and it was the best lobster mac I have had. The noodles were nice and thick and there were HUGE chunks of lobster in it and generous amounts too. The cheese selection in the sauce and on top was perfect and the portion was big enough that I had some to take home which is always nice. We also had an order of the ‘famous’ tater tots. They were good but I wasn’t totally wowed like I expected. I also tried some of the dishes others ordered at my table and overall I was happy with the quality. I really like that they were innovative with both the construction and presentation of their dishes. Even your usual foods had a little flare that made them unique and I really liked that. Service — The service could have been better. The server was nice enough, but I’d say she did the bare minimum. For example, she would bring out the food and keep our drinks full but she never checked in to see if we needed anything else after our initial order. She was also really slow to bring us the bill after we had finished eating. However on our way out another server stopped and talked to my husband about the Brewers and baseball because he was wearing a Brewers shirt and he seemed really nice so it could be that we just got a bad server. Price — The price is on the higher side but I have to say that the portions of food are generous and really delicious so I think the pricing is on point. The entrees are in the $ 10 – 25 range and the quality of the food and the atmosphere warrants those prices in my opinion. Overall I’d recommend this place. It’s someplace you can go out to on the weekend for a casual atmosphere and a burger to watch a game, but it’s also a place that you could take a date to and dress up a little and not feel out of place. I will be going back here in the future without question and I look forward to continuing to explore their diverse and exciting menu!

Over priced Father’s Day Buffet and horrible service. Our waitress failed to check on us during buffet and didn’t even greet us or thank us for visiting.

I have been here a couple of times now, and both times I’ve had good food, good service, and good beer. They also have a rotating beer menu with local craft beers, which is a plus. The menu is limited, but I was able to find something I wanted both times. What they do for food, they do well. I tried the tots and maybe it’s because I am not from around here because, while good, they weren’t the orgasmic experience some Unilocalers were talking about. I’ve also had a salad, stroganoff, and a burger, all of which were fresh and delicious. Their house sauce is pretty good as well. The service here was pretty good both times I went. The service was quick and the waitress was attentive for the most part. I will definitely be back!

We found this great little place on Unilocal… we sat outside and it was so relaxing! My husband ordered the salmon with bagel… Not your typical lox and bagel… It was beautifully prepared and delicious. It came with a side order of their Tavern Potatoes. They were the best we’ve ever tasted. I had the Quaker Oats pancake with local maple syrup… Yummy!!! Definitely will try this place for breakfast again. Our server, Hunter, did an awesome job!

Large portions, tasty. We had bison burger with goat cheese, humus plate and pepperoni pizza. Everythimg was great. They were rather busy when our party showed up, several kids and parents. The staff did nice job sitting us all outside. The waitress, Mary, was awesome. I don’t know how she does this, but she is amazing. Highly recommended.

We went here on a Friday late night for some food. It was around 10.30 and place was almost full. It was full of energy and nothing special décor but was tidy and neat. They had about 15 draft beer options and whiskey flight options as well. After 10 they served only bar food so we could not try everything on the menu. We just ordered some appetizers like tots, onion rings, chicken meat balls, fries. Chicken meat balls was the stand out. The sauce that came along with it was dynamite. Our server was just perfect. Would definitely recommend this place for a late night food or dinner or just some drinks.

Well, this place is slightly off the beaten path from Lakeville and I likely next to never would have visited here if not for meeting an old friend as a halfway point. I am most certainly glad he came up with this place. When I think«tavern», I think beer place with beer place type food. I was pleasantly surprised right from the start with its lack of parking, but then questioning that this place might be a bit upscale for my denims and worn brogues despite its«strip mall» digs. Walking in, we entered to a mix of people at the crowded bar. After a short wait, we were fortunate enough to get a couple of seats and grab some beverages out of an impressive but not overdone beer list. To note, the bartenders were a bit too much business and not enough personality. Yes, it was a busy Friday evening. However, personality comes with the job. So we get seated for dinner down in the lower section, which is nice considering the noise level above and the other bar close by that obviously few people know of. Kicking myself once again for not having our servers name to give a big kudos to, although I did write it down, we threw questions at her left and right about the menu which she answered confidently and recommended some great options. I picked the Cowboy Burger with the tator tots, my buddy ordered the Bison Burger. He claimed to have enjoyed his burger as much as I did mine. We followed up dinner with the chips appetizer as the conversation was still flowing and the beer was still being going down. After realizing how quiet it was as the dinner crowd was mostly gone, we moved back to the upper bar. Somehow we hooked into the conversation with a young trio and ended up nearly closing the bar. So here’s a great part to this review, and a bit embarrassing. When I arrived, I took advantage of the free valet parking. So when leaving, the valet had left of course and I had to inquire about my cars whereabouts. The manager was apologetic about the valet being gone(after midnight), I naturally was embarrassed about not having tipped the man for taking care of my car. So, if you’re not a story reader, solid beer list; good food; great waitstaff other than the bartenders being a bit uptight; free valet parking. Solid 4.5 stars, enjoy.

Nice atmosphere with a definite buzz from the bar. Plenty of large flat screens around to watch your favorite sporting event. I had the Rotisserie chicken which was great. They were out of Pot Roast which was my first choice. The Tower of Power Onion Rings were a great appetizer. The service was OK but not great. Our waitress had to be reminded to bring forks with dessert and disappeared quickly from the table on several occasions but overall, it was a good experience. Their was an up charge on the chicken when I asked for all white meat which the waitress should have mentioned at the time. Nice dessert choices as well.

I’ve been here for breakfast, happy hour and dinner. Every meal or dish I have ordered here has been excellent. The quality of the food is consistently good, well prepared, and fresh. Continually moving customers helps keep the product from going stale. They have a wide variety of dishes from burgers to filets to salads and some great appetizers. Prices are on the premium side for the area, but they’re reasonable considering that their competition includes Redstone, Jimmy’s, or Prairie Tap House. Hazellewood Grills in Excelsior is a sister restaurant owned by the same restaurant group. Service is always good. Waitstaff have been great about keeping my drinks full, and ensuring that my food was done correctly. In fact, one time, immediately ordering dinner, my friend and I were expecting to order another round of appetizers while we were waiting. But before we could even get in the order, our entrees had arrived!(It was probably 7 minutes if I had to guess.) The biggest down-side of this place(and its relatively small in the big scheme of things) is that the parking lot can get filled pretty quickly. Coming here on a Tuesday afternoon around 4:30 for happy hour, most of the other shops were either closed or had open spots(there were signs posted to reserve them for use of customers of their stores — likely because of the volume of people at Tavern 4&5), but so many people were at Tavern 4&5 that I had to park on the other end of the parking lot. Fortunately, the lot is large enough to accommodate the traffic, but you may have to walk a few steps. That said, there can be a wait to get in, even on weekdays. I recommend getting there early if you can.

I had lived in Eden Prairie for quite some time before I found this place. I ultimately went there because a friend told me a couple of staff members from the now closed Santorini worked there, and I wanted to see them. There’s a nice atmosphere here, great staff and the food is fantastic. There’s a vast craft beer selection, and the bloody mary’s are pretty good, too, if you stop in for brunch. Tavern 4&5 is definitely worth the trip and a visit.

— Every single time I come here I am blown away. I’ve had almost every single burger on their menu and they’re ALL great. The tater tots are ONPOINT, but I pay the extra $ 3.00 to get more on my plate. It’s worth it. Trust me. It’s a great lunch spot, I’m always seated on time, food comes out amazing and is always«seasoned perfectly» as the manager will tell you. Lol. I highly recommend this place.

Went here for lunch with a Coworker and first off right when you walk in you are hit with a wonderful aroma of smoke. We shared the fish N chips, plum sauce wings, and artichoke dip. Fish was amazing. Artichoke dip knock my sock off. Wings were okay… they kinda reminded me of the ones i make at home on the grill. I will be back soon. Can’t wait to try more items

I think my 4 stars is soley for the tots! YES, the tots! they are like little bits of mashed potato crispiness. not many in an order, but totally worth it. Don’t waste your time order more later, just order 2 orders! also had the pig wings, yayayayaya meat was tender I didn’t need a knife or fork, just a large napkin, YUM also tried the club sandwich, overall it was ok but too much mayo for my taste. it was oozin out the sides. I will be back for more apps and a cold beer. TOTS.

At first, I had my doubts. Super crowded, long wait, nowhere to stand in the bar area(until we discovered the back bar, haha!). The space is designed to use up every square foot for seating… it felt pretty tight inside. But once we were seated, pleasantly surprised at the warm surroundings and trendy décor. The moral of the story is — call ahead! Great variety of food, from decadent steaks to healthy grain salads. There is also a yummy rotisserie chicken. Good selection of beer on tap. Once you have your table, it has a lively atmosphere, dependable food,

Consistently great food and service. Rotisserie chicken roasted over the spit behind the bar with the wood fired grill a few feet away. Super friendly bar tender. Sat at the bar and had the skinny Mediterranean pizza — the perfect combination of carbs, salad, salty and savory — satisfies every taste bud. A few glasses of Merlot cuts through the cheese for a very satisfying meal. Tip: CostCo often has gift cards for the group that owns Tav 4 – 5 and offers a great 25% discount. Been here about 10 times and have never been disappointed.

I was expecting to like Tavern 4 and 5 more than I did. Several minor annoyances added up. Busy on a Saturday night, loud inside, lots of TVs for college football, nice atmosphere though had I been trying to carry on a conversation it might have been a bit challenging. I saw that many of the craft cocktails used an apple whiskey, so I decided to try that neat. Not a good idea. That’s not really Tavern 4 and 5’s fault, but nonetheless wish I would have ordered a bourbon flight for the same price. My server was friendly enough but there was a quiet upsell. The website has a picture of an outstanding looking bone-in New York strip, which is mainly what drew me there. But the bone-in New York is not actually on the current menu. Instead I ordered the wood-fired rotisserie half-chicken. She asked«all white?» and I said yes, as I don’t care for thighs. It did not say on the menu nor did she mention that there is an extra $ 4 charge for all white. Now I have a quarter chicken in the hotel fridge that I’m not sure what I will do with. Would have preferred keeping the order basic, eating the breast, wing and leg. When the bill came I paid cash. They didn’t want to bother with loose change, so they rounded up. I can afford the 39 cents, but if they had rounded down to avoid the change I would have felt better about it. I was writing a 3-star review for them in my head while driving home and happened to pass a Boston Market. I thought to myself, hey, I could have had virtually the same meal for one-third the price.

We wanted to catch some breakfast, and weren’t in the mood to wait 45 minutes for mediocre pancakes at Original Pancake House. I searched on Unilocal for restaurants serving breakfast/brunch and we drove out here. We were pleased to find front row parking, and asked to be seated on the patio. We were seated at a broken tipsy table, and due to the fact that no one greeted us for over ten minutes, fixed it with coasters broken-in-half ourselves. Finally, a woman came over and said that while this was«so and sos» table, they must have oversat him, and she’d take our drink order. I got a bloody, Joe got coffee and Mom stuck with water. A few minutes later a frazzled server came over and asked what we’d like to drink — we said someone had just taken our order. Then without a word he turned around and went in, he came back out telling us he checked the sections and this was his table. Um… okay? Get it together. Our drinks came out, and we ordered. I told him that I do not eat eggs, and would the corned beef hash be more filling or the reuben benedict without the eggs. He highly suggested the reuben benny. I asked him about the tater tots that they have, since everyone Unilocal how amazing they are — he explained the different cheeses and that they’re handmade. I said we’d love to try some as an appetizer, do they serve them during brunch? He assured me that they do. Mom ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon with bagel, and Joe ordered the breakfast burrito. Our server never even asked what meat he’d like in the burrito, so I asked him loudly, and our server said«Oh! Right!» and jotted it down as he walked away. Off-putting. The bloody mary was not very good. It had an inch long piece of meat, a cube of cheese and a cucumber… no lemon or lime at all. The mix tasted like pure tomato juice that was blended with pepper and horseradish — again just a weird taste. I liked the kick, and appreciated the beer back, but I would not order it again. I will give credit where credit is due, and Joe’s coffee never went empty. When Mom asked for more water he kept bringing out new glasses, which was annoying to have the table filling up with empty glasses. After over half an hour, our food came out. My benedict had eggs. There were no tots. When the runner asked if we needed anything else, I mentioned we still had a side of tots… then when our server checked back 10 minutes later I told him that he rang my order in wrong with the eggs, and there were no tots still. He did not offer to fix my breakfast, and left without acknowledging the tots… and when he came back to clear our plates I was frankly over it. The reuben bene was seriously disgusting. The meat was cold and chewy, it was drenched in a separated hollandaise sauce, and the rye«toast» was simply rye bread. Thank goodness for the amazing hashbrowns that I got two bites of. The second star is for the burrito which Joe really liked. He said the meat was tasty. Mom liked her salmon, even though the portion was tiny. All in all, I MAY come back here for the beer and some apps, but I would never return for breakfast.

Everyone I have ever talked to rants and raves about this place. So when I went, I expected out of this world food. The sandwich I got was good, not blissfully amazing like everyone had made it sound like. I then realized, everyone who was ranting and raving about it, were also from the suburbs, so I guess in comparison to applebees, it is out of this world amazing. For the suburbs, its pretty good. They tend to be pretty busy so if you are planning to go here for dinner, plan accordingly. The service is good. The food is good. If you are looking to eat out in the area, its a good place to hit up.

This local neighborhood gem is a for sure«go to». The location has been home to several other restaurants but it seems that Tavern 4&5 is here to stay. I’ve been impressed with the food and service here from my very first visit. It’s a popular spot so expect it to be busy inside. Depending on the time and day you go parking can be challenging too. They offer a great happy hour from 3 – 6 pm during the week and a late night one from 9−11pm. Discounts on wine and beer and a variety of apps for $ 4-$ 5. Splurge and get the onion rings. You won’t regret it! My favorite here are the skinny pizzas. I think it’s such a cleaver idea with the middle cute out and replaced by a salad. The salad is always crisp and has just the right amount of dressing on it. The pizza is tasty too with my fav being«Drag-It-Tru-Da-Garden». Their healthy bowls are delicious too. I haven’t tried breakfast here but know that it’s an option 7 days of the week.
