Great customer service! Great store but trying to figure out their hours this morning is difficult. No posting on this site and it’s almost 7am on Saturday and no one will answer the phone number they have posted on here. Home Depot says they are open at 6AM today, looks like I will have to go there as I am limited on time.

There is simply nothing quite like Menards. Part Home Depot, part Costco, part Cabela’s, part Aldi, and yet fully upper-Midwestern in character. In my mind, no store defines Minnesotan culture quite like Menards, especially when it comes to preparing for the winter. To be honest, it’s not easy writing a review on Menards. It’s like asking someone to contrast SmashBurger with McDonald’s for someone who has never heard of a hamburger. All I can say is that you’ll be surprised at the large range of stuff you’ll find here. Yes, you’ve got your typical home improvement store things, like lumbar, but who knew they also sold jumbo containers of Listerine and Act Fluoride Rinse? Or breakfast cereal, for that matter? One of the greatest things about Menards is that they are comparatively and consistently among the cheapest stores around for the items they sell. Much of this has to do with the fact that there are a number of manufacturers that produce things exclusively for Menards. For example, I recently bought a pair of 3M Thinsulate dress leather gloves with touchscreen compatibility at $ 6.99 a pop. At Jos. A. Bank, where I visited later that day, I found pretty much the exact same product selling at $ 30! Menards is also cheap because they sell items in bulk(5 pound salsa jars anyone?). Yet, most of all, Menards is cheap because they have a great mail-in, store credit rebate program that will only get you further addicted to shopping at Menards(just ask my father). Being on the East Coast for much of the year, some of the clearest memories I have of shopping at Menards are during the winter months when I’m home for the holidays, specifically Black Friday. Menards has chosen not to be open on Thanksgiving Day(which is awesome), meaning Black Friday is a mad house rush with huge lines. Yet, I have never met an unfriendly Menards employee. No matter how disparately(and illogically) spread out its merchandise is(which is always super annoying), Menards employees are always happy to help. Perhaps it’s a Minnesota Nice thing? All in all, I love Menards. I just can’t get enough of it. And if you couldn’t ask for more, they even have a piano player piping out soothing sounds that echo throughout the metal and concrete warehouse. That’s just the icing on top.

Return issue that was insane. Had receipt, debit card(which I paid with), new debit card(due to security breach) and their OWN sign that said I could receive back cash for a cash or debit purchase. Said their system would no longer allow any mgr overrides in these situations and all they could give me was a store credit. Have spent $ 8500 on a remodel of a whole town home… returning items unused, in boxes, perfect condition. First customer service guy was great and totally agreed with me, mgr was a dolt and just put a piece of tape OVER the sign I was referring to. If you plan on returning anything to this store, be aware of this new policy. They don’t have an email address for customer issues(have to write a complaint letter) and no phone number — took customer service 20 minutes to find a number to call for their OWNCOMPANY. Got a hold of corporate who said«customer satisfaction is our number one concern» and told them handstrapping their mgrs from giving good customer service is NOT the way to do that. Have dealt with Lowes, Home Depot and Menards during this remodel — Lowes is the only one who will keep me as a customer.

Newly refurbished, massive hardware & home improvement store — as the saying goes, if they don’t have it you don’t need it. This place is massive with a funky moving ramp to take you and your cart to the upper level — yes it is two full levels of hardware, food, and anything else you can imagine. This is by far the largest of these stores I have ever seen. Consequently it can be a little confusing on your first visit. Even their checkout stands seem backwards(you cross behind the checker and stand on the same side as them to bag your stuff yourself). If you just want one little thing, you might consider the local hardware store but if you are the type that wants to spend a couple hours browsing through this massive store, then this would be Mecca.

Giant Menards with everything you could ask for. Compared to the Menard’s that was in this location a year ago, its hard to even compare. The new location is brand new, full of employees, and has everything you could imagine. Compared to home depot or lowes, they do have a much wider selection of random crap. For example, if you want jeans, kids books, or off brand chips, you can buy that at Menards. The prices are usually a bit cheaper then lowes or home depot as well. Overall, since this is a brand new location I’ll actually be able to stand shopping here. Once they get old, I stay away.
