Excellent food! The tacos are definitely their specialty. My mom and I purchased burritos the first time we went and it was not the best. Loved the chips and salsa and after we went a second time and got the tacos I can honestly say they have the best food I have tasted in the Eau Claire area and I’m from San Diego, California and have some experience with gourmet Mexican. I’ll be stopping by again for sure!

Very good food! Fresh chips and salsa, delicious carnitas, great service, pleasant all-around experience! They also provide take-out and serve chips and salsa while you wait.

Definitely some of the only good Mexican food in Wisconsin and the ONLY good place in E.C. Try the mole!

Simply the best Mexican food in the Chippewa Valley! I would recommend everything here, but my grandma will always say their breakfast burritos are the best. I was blown away by the chicken pineapple fajitas the last time I was here. The owner and staff are incredibly kind and friendly, the specials are such a deal, and the cozy atmosphere is perfect for an escape from the cold during the winter. Try this place out!

When I want Mexican food, and don’t want to pay Manny’s prices, I hit tacos Juanita. Awesome service. Delicious, AUTHENTIC Mexican food. Love cow cheek tacos… Never go to Cancun or azul tequila ever again. Tacos Juanita is where it’s at.

Food was– ok. Queso not fresh, in fact it was microwaved. Had steak quesadilla– which had ground beef. Disappointing

We were in EC and I searched for a place that served fish. TJ offered whole tilapia for 11 bucks. It was scaled perfectly, scored, and deep fried. I am not a huge tilapia fan, but very much enjoyed it. My wife had rancheros steak and enjoyed it, too. The food is very authentic. Wife had a margarita and I had grapefruit jarritos soda. We also had the chunky guacamole… it was undersalted-my only complaint, and I’m quite fussy. Overall a 9 of 10

We love the molcajetes here but they were closed today. We will try to stop by next year when we are in town again. Overall décor and food was excellent. Went to another place today since they were closed but it didn’t compare at all!

Great food, good prices, friendly staff. Location and space are small and a little dated, but the food quality and cost more than compensates for that. Great little place in a strip mall. Menu has a huge variety of traditional Mexican food on it, including breakfast food. I am in love with their seafood chimichanga. It’s huge, and comes smothered in white cheese sauce. Great place for lunch.

I’ve only had two different kinds of tacos here: fish and veggie. After the fish, I wasn’t too impressed, but the most recent trip for veggie tacos blew me away. And it’s not everyday that somebody says that about veggie tacos, so draw whatever conclusions you wish.

This is our go to place for Mexican food in Eau Claire. I still don’t like their Salsa, but tacos and fajitas are my choice of dishes when I’m there. Reasonable price and fairly good food.

I am sad to write this review because we’ve been to Tacos Juanita before when it’s been absolutely fantastic, but the latest time really fell short for me. I ordered a chicken fajita and the plate came out medium warm. It didn’t look like the veggies had been fried; instead, it looked like they’d been steamed and sent out to me. They were floppy and nasty. What a bummer.

Wow! What a great surprise! Who knew we’d find awesome Mexican food in Wisconsin??? Other than not having green chile, this place is a gem! When we started eating, we didn’t even miss the green chile-which is hard to admit! Food was excellent and portions are HUGE! Hubby ordered Alambre fajitas(streak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo). He loved then! I ordered Carnita nachos. O. M. G. AMAZING! Staff was friendly and super efficient. I would highly recommend this place! Wish it were a little closer to Denver!

As close to authentic So Cal Mexican food as your gonna get in Wisconsin. Sopes were really good. Shredded beef and carne asada had excellent flavor. Chips and salsa were excellent. Lots of authentic choices.

What a find. I came rolling through town with my wife and tiny infant daughter. We needed a place to stop and Mexican food was on the menu. You know that you have pulled into the right place when the staff is incredibly nice, the patrons are all folks watching the World Cup. We got wonderful tacos(adobo, barbacoa, and carnitas) as well as wonderful sopes(chicken) and watched the last 20 minutes of the Netherlands v. Costa Rica game. The salsa that they just give you with chips is incredible. They should sell it. The fact that they give it away for free is fantastic.

Third in Eau Claire for Mexican food, right behind LaPoblanita and La Misma Luna. Slightly more upscale, with more american friendly food items(i.e. served with cheese and lettuce and sour cream). However, plenty of real Mexican items, including goat and tongue. Also, it is a table service place, so more of a sit down atmosphere — kind of a low rent chi-chi’s, if your old enough to remember that. The food here is good, and there are plenty of options to satisfy those who are not adventurous. They do serve beer, and have a number of mexican options in bottles. All in all, a fine place to eat at decent prices, especially since it is sit down with wait staff.

Pretty good Mexican food in Eau Claire. I was driving through the area and had a taste for tacos. It doesn’t look like Eau Claire has a Chipotle so this was my next best choice. Some of the food was good — the chicken fajitas especially. The chicken tacos were dry though. Overall it’s OK. The men’s bathroom was run down but the restaurant was generally clean. The location is odd, Unilocal sent me to the intersection but not to the strip mall that this is in. The rest of the strip is filled with an eclectic mix, including a Mexican grocery store. Overall, this might be the best Mexican in Eau Claire, but I wouldn’t go out of your way off the highway to stop here. Not quite sure how this place has 13 five star reviews, maybe the local crowd is a bit more forgiving :)

If you’re traveling to the Twin Cities by way of 94W, you have to stop here for lunch or dinner! Likewise, if you’re headed down 94E and happen to be in the vicinity of Eau Claire, stop here. Honestly, if you are anywhere in the Eau Claire area then you must make this one of your destinations. It’s truly a special treat. I was skeptical of a taco joint in this region. We found Tacos Juanita using the Unilocal app and took note of the 5 star rating. I thought to myself, We’re talking Wisconsin 5 stars for Mexican. It’s probably less Tacos Juanita and more Taco John’s. The good news is that it was nothing like those shitty chains and everything you could hope for in homemade Hispanic goodness. We ordered a «small» bowl of the Sopa Azteca, 1 Mexican Style Lengua Taco, and 1 Chorizo Burrito. The total came to about $ 17.50 after tip, which isn’t bad at all. We returned again for lunch on our way back through Wisconsin. This time I ordered a «medium» Sopa Azteca and 3 Lengua Tacos. The boy got another Chorizo Burrito and the price was still beyond reasonable for two people. Especially since it’s some of the best Mexican food I’ve had at any restaurant. Extra props for the Pandora station playing good music en Español!
