Next to no fresh seafood… over priced, salty frozen meats. Would love to see some oysters, crab, clams and the like.

OK we have eaten her before and food was OK for the price which was around 11.99 per adult. Wednesday night we wanted to treat our daughter who has Lupus. We called in advance to verify the prices and was quoted $ 13.99 age 10 and up, $ 8.99 ages 5 – 9, and $ 4.99 ages 2 – 4. We have 8 children 4m, 2, 4, 8, 10, 12, 17, 15. With them my wife and I the bill should have been $ 119.23,(13.99×6) +(8.99) +(4.99×2) + 10% gratuity + 7% tax. Instead bill was 128. When we inquired as to the extra 17+ $ they tell us it’s 16.99 for ages 10 and up. Stay far away. The food is terrible and very deceptive. NEVERAGAINWILLWEEATTHEREANDWILLALWAYSWARNAGAINST. The food was either cold or hard and definitely not at code temps.

Sadly the experience coming back here was like the ruination of my fond teenage memories. I admit Ocean China Buffet was the best but This used to be the 2nd best Chinese buffet in the area. Take that as you will. This place was great for groups often 4 or 4 families would converge here for its many options and fresh food. A grill provided steak, chicken and fish. Make tour own Mongolian BBQ, a sushi bar they will make to order, soft serve ice cream and 3 large counters of choices a plenty. Today there was no Mongolian BBQ, the soft serve is gone, replaced with a single scoop and 8 large communal runs of ice cream. Everything I had was either under cooked or overlooked. I can not express in words how sad it was that this has replaced my fond memories of mounds of delicious food. You used to have to wait on a Sunday afternoon to be seated. Not anymore, I think this may not be a new problem, I was just slow to find out. What a shame. 2 stars for smiling and quick service from the wait staff.

This place use to be good years before. I can remember this place use to packed for big functions. I usually don’t talk bad about restaurants because everyone has a bad night. But I was forced to go back with my sister and then with my in laws. On both occasions I was left with bad taste in my mouth. The food was just about unedible. It was cold, overcooked and the seafood was mushy, rank and absolutely no flavor. The dim sum was falling apart and the filling was going bad inside. I would have tried the sushi but something smelled bad and was not risking my stomach anymore. I wanted to say something but didn’t want to offend my hostess of the event. Now what was really the straw that broke the camels back was when were waiting for our two other guest to arrive we were told that we will have to pay more for our guest because they were changing for dinner. We told them that we have no problem paying extra and they stuck in traffic. They watched us and kept telling us about the charge. We then again said no problem. They came a third time and we let them know that we are aware. They tried also to charge us for a nine year old. I am completely done. I could care less if the pope was going to be there. Save your money, your time, your aggravation and your gastrointestinal tract.

My friend and I went in as a joke and quickly realized that it may have been the worst 18 $ I have ever spend on food in my life. There are many things better than this place like, dare I say, any of the fast food places in the aria. I prefer McDonald’s to this place. We went at dinner time 6:30 pm and the food tasted and looked like it has been sitting there since lunch time. There was a nice stale crust on some of the items. I tried the fried shrimp and it was well below the food safety temps, it was about room temp! I was obviously expecting food that was prepped in a factory and warmed up in the back but I was not expecting to eat cold food that should have been hot. Not one thing was fresh in the place. Even the«fresh» fruits and veggies were the worst quality imaginable. The strawberries were actual white in color and so unripe that it was uneatable. Oh geesh, i do not have enough time in the day to write about my whole experience there. All in all, this is by far the most unsanitary, disgusting buffet I have ever seen. It was quite an experience. Please save you some major gastro-intestinal discomfort and skip this place. a day later I am still feeling the MSG and preservatives still working. I still can not believe that my friend and I took this joke that literal. Never again ’Merica

The quality of the food and service has deteriorated greatly over the past 2 years. There are some selections on the menu that are inedible. I went up for a slice of prime rib and the cook showed me a piece of a gray piece of meat saying, «No rare left.» What an understatement. I could go on and on describing many dried-out dishes. The place was dirty and the service was awful(2 waiters would NOT get off their iphones to clean tables or refill drinks). We gave this place MANY chances, but I am sorry to say that we will not go back.

Excellent quality and quick turnover results in a great meal. Staff is very attentive and friendly. The raw bar is impressive with huge shrimp and clams. A definite step up from the average buffet experience.

Used to frequent this establishment when the food was good and the price was fair. Oh have the times change I made the mistake of eating here tonight and bringing my 2 buddies with me. Bill came out to be 55.00 dollars for 3 waters and cruddy dried out food. We could of gone to a nice spot to eat. I was not aware of the huge price increase till we got bill. My jaw dropped and I appologized to my buddies for them getting ripped off.

I go here once in a while. Some of the food is really good and some is not so good. The lunchtime buffet is good and worth $ 12. I will not go for the dinner buffet because it is not worth $ 25.

I really like coming here and pigging out. While some things are a miss(overly sweet honey chicken or tough pork ends), there are good items too, like fresh crab legs and sushi bar(yay salmon avocado roll), mongolian bbq area featuring decent prime rib. Also, tons of dessert variety. I must say their zeppoli«biscuits» are amazing, like a New Orleans beignet, I am not $h!tting you. Listen, it’s a cheap buffet! Come in with your eyes open and embrace your huge appetite.

I used to always frequent this place growing up being that it is one of the only Chinese buffets left in the area. But over the years the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the restaurant has gone down while the price has gone up. The restaurant has your typical Chinese buffet décor but almost every chair is run down and ripped with gray duct tape placed on top of the tear which doesn’t make a difference because the inside of the ripped chair is still visible and the duct tape is falling off. The creamy coconut shrimp used to be my favorite to eat here but on my last visit it was dry and as delicious as I had remembered. Also the creamy coconut shrimp is only available during dinner. The crab legs are also only available during dinner and has no taste. It taste like they didn’t use one spice in the back to prepare the dishes. I gave them two starts because they actually have a sushi bar that you can order from which adds a little something that other buffets may not have

I used to come here pretty often a few years ago, but noticed that over the last year or two, it’s dwindled to maybe a 1−2x a year thing. I came here with coworkers shortly before the holidays, wondering why I didn’t come here more often — it IS down the street from my job, after all. I soon realized why. First off, the décor and cleanliness of this buffet isn’t exactly flattering. A few chairs /booths had rips in the vinyl, the carpets were long past the point of «worn out», and were probably more along the lines of «General Tso’s Carpet» than actual cloth at this point, and the general atmosphere is just kind of. I don’t know, tired? Desperately in need of at least a little updating, maybe some fresh paint and carpets. But whatever, the décor isn’t really what matters, the food is. This buffet has a decent amount to pick from, ranging from your typical fried meats in sugary sauces(General Tso, Honey Chicken, Sweet & Sour, etc), to chicken-on-a-stick, various dumplings, and even slightly more authentic items such as custards and sweet gelatinous cake… things. While I appreciated the variety, most items were kind of dry and lukewarm, like they had been sitting out for far too long. Temperature aside, dishes weren’t exactly great quality either, with many items being either cloyingly sweet, or plain boring. Peanut butter chicken is a prime example here, sometimes it’s just *way* too much peanut butter, other times it just tastes like dried-up fried chicken with peanut dust. The best option would probably be the hibachi area, since at least that is prepared fresh, and can make for a fairly hearty meal. Desserts were all typical prefab stuff from boxes, and included a standard issue«huge barrels of ice cream’ section, as well. So, for a pretty run of the mill /buffet, why only 2 stars? The price, and the quality. The food, while having pretty typical selections, is consistently under temperature and on the dry side. As for the price, the owners here are out of their minds — a weekday lunch buffet ran me nearly $ 14 when I included a beverage with tax and tip. Dinner prices will run you $ 20! I’ve eaten at tons of Chinese buffets, and never have I paid that much for a weekday lunch. My coworkers can keep this place, there’s plenty of local options that will net you much better food for less money, buffets included.

I made a mistake and really paid for it this week. I usually don’t patronize 2 ½ star joints as my fellow Unilocalers are almost always right. I made an exception here and I’m still kicking myself! I walked in the door at prime dinner time last Thursday and saw exactly what I expected. This was your standard«Chinese buffet in a shopping plaza» décor. There must be thousands of these across the country. I smiled at the man and woman standing at the front desk and said«one please.» Neither of them said a word and the woman actually yawned in my face and walked away clearly expecting me to follow. She led me to a table and walked away once again without a word. I was unimpressed. A smiling waiter appeared instantly and took my drink order and my soda appeared within a minute. He had a chance to clear my plate once and refill my soda once and he handled those extremely difficult tasks just fine. What followed next were two plates of boring mediocre food. Much of it was barely warm and many items looked dried out. A buffet staple and usually one of my favorites is chicken and broccoli. Here is was a huge mountain of overcooked broccoli with tiny pieces of chicken you could hardly find. I tried some pepper steak but it was so cold the sauce had congealed and it was an unappetizing mess. Once I finished this disaster of a meal my smiling waiter handed me a check for $ 20.32! I was stunned! I’ll end this review by saying something nice and positive. I didn’t get food poisoning!

Came here during lunch time. Selection is pretty average. Been coming here for awhile now. The food seems to be fresh. Place is very clean. Bathrooms clean. Food is what to expect of a Buffet. It does get crowded after church is let out in Long Branch. Mi amigos are out in force here. Good overall.

This is one of those times when you can say«Remember when… « Then you’d think back w/a fond memory. Well same hold true with The Grand China Buffet. There was something for the whole my whole family. Crab legs for my Mom, Prime Rib for my Dad and everything inbetween fom my nephews. Now days, the crab legs are smaller, the prime rib is rubbery. Plus, the prime rib is pre sliced now. Which tells me that it’s day(maybe two) old. I’d stay away form the sushi too. There’s no telling when it comes to raw fish. Espeicaly, when they were so called«Under Construction» for months and reopened with no visibltiy signs of of any construction being done. Even in the kitchen, I peeked. SOBEWAREANDBEWARNED!!!
