We are visiting orcas for a few days and stopped in this place for lunch. Delicious food and friendly service. Skillet breakfast burritos are huge and tasty. Homemade refried beans are really good.

Great place! I had the Chef’s omelette made with bacon, tomatoes, cream cheese and basil. Yummy! Nice quaint place and reasonable prices.

Good simple breakfast food. Very fair prices especially for«island prices.» Nice staff, missed most of the morning rush, but they were still upbeat and great.

Today it is a warm sunny Friday afternoon around noon. Visiting the island, wanting a Milk Shake but told they start serving Milk Shakes at 5pm. Seriously. I didn’t know Milk Shakes were a appetizer to dinner. Bad for business

The food was alright. Basic breakfast menu items and nothing special. The place is always crowded so get there early.

On a recent trip to Orcas Island, it was a Saturday, midday about 1pm, that my boyfriend and I were walking around town looking for a place to grab a bite for lunch. This became much more of an effort than we thought it would be. Many places seem to close early in the day and/or are only open for dinner, or expensive. Thus, we ended up at Island Skillet. I think this place deserves more stars than the average it has now! Yes, it is a little crappy yet charming local diner – but that’s the beauty of it. Hefty, good food at reasonable prices. We ordered the TBA Sandwich(which was loaded with *real* hot slices of roast turkey — not that weird compressed stuff) and a Breakfast Burrito with all the fixin’s. Yum-O. The service was fairly prompt, kind, and just a bit indifferent, as you would expect from said crappy charming diner.

This place is pretty gross :(I got a chorizo breakfast burrito and they didn’t drain the chorizo? I legit had grease EVERYWHERE. My napkin was soaked in nasty orange grease after I ate about half the burrito. I couldn’t eat the rest of it, which is really saying something for me lol. Thank goodness it was only like $ 7 though. Wait staff wasn’t very friendly either. Pretty apathetic and I didn’t want to fight them about the crappy quality of their burrito cause we had some hiking to get to! Boyfriend’s french toast was okay, ham was meh, and hash browns should have been cooked more. Definitely go to Brown Bear baking a block or two down for breakfast! Wayyyyy better and much friendlier service :)

We ordered to go because it was too cold to eat outside with our dog. My husband really enjoyed the beef vege stew and the kids loved the Mack and cheese because it had bacon crumbles on top. Good simple, hot food.

Amazing Chorizo skillet! It was not burnt, and hot food is good! Great staff, great coffee, all around a pleasant morning experience.

Service is very friendly here whether you’re a tourist or a local, which I like. I had one of their scrambles which I wasn’t a huge fan of, but not because it wasn’t good but because I should have picked something else. My husband’s breakfast burrito was very good, though and he enjoyed that.

Good food. The skillet is nice but it keeps the food cooking after they bring it to you. It’s also burning hot! Overall we enjoyed it. The ladies are nice and keep your coffee topped off. We will most likely be back the next time we are lucky enough to spend a weekend on Orcas.

My wife and I ate here for the first time yesterday, January 23. They were busy and we anticipated a long wait and possibly slow service. Neither was the case! We were seated in short order. The staff was very friendly and efficient. My wife had the eggs Benedict, I the huevos rancheros. The eggs Benedict were excellent, hollandaise sauce was very good and there was a plenty of it. My huevos rancheros were very good, the eggs done just right, fresh pico de gallo, and great corn tortillas. We will definitely eat there on any future trips to the island.

It’s just a somewhat cheap place to get something to eat. That’s it. There’s really not much to write about. I needed somewhere to eat and I stumbled upon this one while walking around. The food was okay. The service was pretty good though. During off season, there are a lot of places that aren’t open during the week so I have to give it to this place just for being open. They deserve some kudos for that. The food was just alright. The inside wasn’t really much either. Maybe it was just the fact that it was in Orcas Island that made it more appealing than it actually is. Overall, if you need a place to eat during the off season, this isn’t terrible. But it isn’t that amazing either.

One of the worst breakfast i have had on any of the islands. Avoid this place. They burn just about everything they cook. Here is a pic of my very burned eggs on the chorizo skillet. Disgusting. Girlfriends english muffin for eggs benedict burned also.

Quick, delicious, decently priced, low-key breakfast spot. Recommended to us as a «locals spot», ate there a few times while on vacation on Orcas Island. Preferred the Island Skillet’s mellow atmosphere but decent service over a few other places on the island, and would return again even when more stuff was open. HIGHLY enjoyed the Salmon Eggs Benedict and had the Chef’s Omelet(w/o cream cheese) twice! Was pleasantly surprised to be offered gluten-free options. Seating seems to be a bit sketchy during rushes, but the place is small and first come first serve seems fair. We were two people and were seated at a five top, and the single person behind us was seated at a four top. The group who walked in a few minutes later and had to wait a bit kept giving us dirty looks…

Orcas Island is a favorite haunt and I am glad I found Island Skillet as it’s nice to come here for brunch or lunch. It has a pretty large menu with breakfast items and sandwiches and salads. This is a sunny little place with some outdoor seating and if you come right after 11AM on a weekend, expect some wait as it seems to be popular with families and even locals. It took about 20 minutes for us to get seated when we visited right around noon. Our server was quick though and we did not have to wait too long for the food. I tried the Chorizo Scramble Skillet that came with a side of hashbrowns and toast. My daughter tried the Burrito. Both were wholesome and delicious and all ingredients were fresh. Since it’s reasonably priced and a nice little place for brunch on the island I give it 4 stars, if it was in some place like Ballard it would probably get 3 stars as there is a lot of competing businesses out there. We will definitely stop by for brunch again on our next visit to Orcas island.

How I heard of this place: Again, our new friend and Visitor Center Welcomer, Michelle suggested Island Skillet after hearing of our plans to spend the weekend at the Deer Harbor Inn. The owners of Deer Harbor’s Restaurant also run Island Skillet and offer an in-city breakfast experience unlike any other. We were ready to accept the challenge. Type of cuisine: A true, American, down-home menu including breakfast staples: Eggs Benedict, Buttermilk Pancakes, Huevos Rancheros, Breakfast Skillets and Omelettes. Ambiance: Country-style in theme, the Skillet welcomes patrons with a metal-work rooster and Pacific Island style covered passageway. With wide-set tables and lines of locals waiting to place their take-away orders, the Island Skillet is certainly the place to be on a Sunday morning. With one room to the left upon entry, bustling with diners, locals and marathon-runners finishing out their weekend getaways, we joined the masses for our true Island experience. A second, smaller room to the right boasts seating for those wishing for a quieter experience, as well as a wall of activities for tourists to enjoy during their stays. Despite the busy-ness inside, the air is calm and the space surprisingly quiet. No music with which conversations must compete, friends meet, greet and diners partake of their Sunday morning brunch rituals. What I ordered: Ever eager to sample the Eggs Benedict($ 9.99), something I would likely never prepare at home, my experience at Island Skillet was no different! I indulged in two poached eggs on a toasted english muffin, drizzled with house Hollandaise sauce. Instead of the Black Forest Ham, I substituted maple bacon and avocado($ 1.50) to supplement the hash browns. My husband, attempting a more healthy choice on this beautiful island morning chose the Farmer’s Omelette($ 8.99) with sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, spinach, and feta cheese with hash browns and rye toast. He opted for organic eggs for an additional $ 3. To sip, while awaiting our meals, we ordered a cranberry juice($ 2), one hot chocolate($ 2) and a mug of Local Goods Organic«Skillet» Blend Coffee($ 1.75). It was a nice surprise to see the coffee served with flavored creams! What I loved: The coffee and the hot chocolate were each a welcome, sweet treat on this brisk morning, as a start to our full day of hiking and touring ahead. The crisp bacon and freshly sliced avocado a delicious, salty, buttery addition to my Benedict and the has browns perfectly soft, yet abundantly crunchy! The Farmer’s Omelette a delightful surprise of flavor, crisp, fresh vegetables and leaving nothing to crave! Why I loved it: Efficiency in masses, a warm space and friendly servers, each of whom maintained their cool amidst the highly trafficked Skillet. Cost: Low($ 6.99 — $ 9.99 per generous breakfast entrée)
