An old world stunner! Step into this southern-style mansion and you are immediately in a different world. This is the real thing. The antiques are real, the décor is charming, the service and the welcome … is exceptional. And the food! Chef Potts never surfaced, but his art certainly did. Cooled Watercress soup with bacon ice cream? Or Crab Cakes that force you to close your eyes every mouthful. This is a very special place. Please don’t tell anyone, Thank you.

We had another fabulous dinner here during restaurant week. There were many fantastic entrées to choose from. Once again the service and the waitress that we had was the best. Cannot wait to go back to try the new spring menu

This is my review for the Peacock Restaurant, I also reviewed the Inn as well. Both Peacock and Inn at 202 Dover experiences were outstanding… We arrived around 5pm and were greeted at the door by Ron and he welcomed us and told us our rooms were ready. I was in the Safari Suite which I was told was inspired by Teddy Roosevelt it had a wonderful masculine vibe and was cozy as could be. My COO was placed in the Asian suite next door to me and it also was tastefully decorated and beautifully appointed. I made a cup of coffee, turned on the fireplace, setup my laptop and turned on the TV in the living room portion of this massive suite. We made a 6:30 dinner reservation at the Peacock which is the Inns restaurant and dinner was a delight. Robert our server was polished and on point and our Filets were out of this world, we spoke with Doug the Chef and he knew his stuff. Ron and Shelby joined us for light conversation and we learned about the Inns history and a bit about Easton. Seated next to us was Beyonces stylist who we had a joy talking to. After dinner we had drinks in the library and eventually retired to bed. I fired up the steam shower and by then my room was toasty from the fireplace. The next morning we had breakfast which was also outstanding, Sharon, our server, was also just as polished and another outstanding meal was devoured. Before leaving I roamed around the massive mansion looking at all the unique and ornate pieces, what a treat. We were certainly sad to leave but I made a promise to return in early April with the wives so that they can fall in love with this delightful Inn and meet our new friends Ron and Shelby!

This is one of the best asparagus soups I’ve had. It was a beautiful dark green(and not creamy like most asparagus soups you’ll see), and the little bits of crab and vegetable not only added texture, but a change of flavor with each spoonful. My salmon was perfectly cooked: crispy skin, but tender inside; flavorful, but not too salty. I would have preferred it with simple white/brown rice. It came with a lobster risotto, which was good, but I didn’t want flavor competition from the lobster risotto; I wanted to savor the taste of my perfectly cooked salmon. The next time I eat here, I think I would opt to get 2 – 4 appetizers instead of a main dish just so I can try more things. The point is, if you’re in the area, you should definitely stop by.
