Disappointed tonight after many wonderful visits. Had reservation and when we arrived a couple without reservations were given a great booth and we were relegated to a very small two person table. There was an open 4 person booth that we were not allowed to have. Walked out and went elsewhere.

We come to Easton, Maryland as often as we can. It is a must to eat at Banning s. It is in the heart of Easton. Great service as soon as you come in through the decorative bar doors. Food is always great, either lunch or dinner. Had my first Scottish eggs there. Tom and Linda Haschen, owners, are special people. Glad we gotten to know them.

Made it back over my spring break. Again went with the onion rings and a National Premium to start. As good as my first time here. I got the chicken pt pie this time, which is actually more the internals of the traditional pot pie(vegetables, gravy, chicken) with a large puff pastry in it. It was better than a normally constructed pot pie, absolutely great. Finished with the brownie sundae and some stout(forget which), and was again highly satisfied. This place has yet to disappoint, and is by far my favorite lunch at this price point in Easton(not an everyday place like a pizza shop or deli). I can’t wait to make it in for a dinner at some point.

The banning burger is probly the best burger in easton, place is quaint a local place for sure. Decent salad. Not many main line beers. Fairly priced. The chicken livers are very good. They are a rare find, wine list is decent. Nice crisp linens, good servers very friendly. All in all a pleasurable experience!!!

The family and I went here for lunch. We strolled in right around opening, so there were not a lot of people in there. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable of the menu. My son got a grilled cheese with bacon. The bread was pretty thick compared to the amount of cheese and bacon, however it was good. I got the PJ burger; it was delicious. I asked for medium rare but it came out more on the medium side, which I didn’t really care, as long as meat is cooked, I’m good. The burger was big and topped with a good bit of pork bbq. The onion straws were a little soggy, I was hoping for a little more crunch, however they were flavorful. The burger came with a side of fries and they were better than average as far as fries go. I believe my wife got the owbe sandwich. She said it was very delicious. The prices were fair for the amount of food and the quality was spot on. It didn’t bother me but the bathroom is a hike to get to. They share the one next door, it’s historic theatre, not a bad walk and burns off some of that burger. All and all, we will definitely be coming back when in the area.

We waited inside the front door for 20 minutes and NOONE ever acknowledged that were were even there. The bar tender starred at us the entire time, 3 different waitresses walked past us and no one said a word! There were two dirty tables that were not set and no one made an effort to clean them so we could sit down. We felt as though we were invisible and all we wanted was some food and a beer! It was one of the weirdest restaurant experiences of my life. I recommend trying somewhere else!

Try the PJ burger. Yummy! Lots of local beer selections right in the heart of town

The burger was nothing more than a dry hockey puck. I ordered medium and got well done. Chips or fries as a side but an up charge for a side salad. Salad comes with a dab of dressing. Needless to say I had to order another, which still was not enough. Very disappointed, this place was recommended by the Hampton Inn staff.

On your way or coming back from OC you should stop here for a meal. I had the Shepherd Pie and it was awesome, made my heart and tummy satisfied. Service was good and prices were ok. Give it a try

Really solid place. Burgers are excellent and sandwiches are too. Bar had a good crowd of people who seemed to be enjoying themselves. Good service when dining. Only downside to place was outside seating: there were tons of flys, so we had to move inside. But the staff was very accommodating and found us a spot inside, even though it was picked!

The restaurant has a charm from sharing the building with a live theater and good service. The Reuben was good and the club would have been better if the bread quality was better. Desserts are very good with sugars held in check. The restrooms are down a long set of stairs.

Banning’s was recommended to me when I asked for a good place to eat at a local hotel. I’m always wary about hotel desk clerk recommendations since most of the time you wonder if they think Taco Bell is awesome, or if they’re getting a kickback from the place. Anyway, Banning’s is OK. Nothing special. I ate at the bar, which I normally don’t do but they don’t have a tremendous amount of seating. The clam chowder was excellent, tasted homemade. It had a nice, flavorful cream base and big chunks of clam which is to be expected in this area. I ordered the Prime Rib which took forever, but they had a large group in the back which most likely got their order in ahead of me. It wasn’t as hot as I’d like a piece of meat to come out, but I forged on since I didn’t want to wait on another steak. The bartender was attentive and provided good service. They had a TV showing the ball game which was nice. All in all, it was OK.

So we were visiting Easton on 3÷14÷15 and were looking for a bite to eat. because it was a drizzly day and there was a slight chill in the air we went in here and their menu included several types of comfort food. While I was originally going to go for the Shepherd’s Pie I instead opted for the Beef Tips in Guinness. My wife opted for the Reuben sandwich without bread(her request) and it was good. Both meals were what they advertised and the taste of the beef Tips was very good. The wait staff was courteous and timely in taking orders and delivering the food. Overall it was a good dining experience and worth looking at. The odds are it gets busier when it warms up or when there are drinking holidays like St. Patrick’s Day or Cinco de Mayo because the bar is an enormous part of the place. With that said it does not crowd out the dining tables; they didn’t just«shoehorn a restaurant into a bar». The down side here is that there are no restrooms in the restaurant, instead you have to go next door to the theater which I can imagine would get to be a pain for customers as well as for the theater, though there seems to be some sort of agreement between these cats.

Can’t wrap my head around the negative reviews. I have been here several times and always found that the food was exceptional and prices modest. My favorites range from the reuben at lunch to a nice steak and popovers for dinner. Craft beers on tap are constantly rotating and turning me on to new selections. The location is perfect, right in the heart of town, which makes for a great walk after our meal. We love this spot and it will continue to be my go to spot for casual lunches to private dinners.

We stopped in during a pub crawl. The place was packed so we decided to come back later. The owner? /manager? Was very accommodating and permitted us to sit at a table to drink but not order a meal when we returned. The waitress did not like it and made it known. The overall atmosphere was nice but the prices for the drinks was a little steep. I think we will give them another chance when we return to this town again.

We took the family for a «back to school«dinner, We had made a reservation for Sunday’s Lobster Night. My husband and I both had the lobster. Fabulous. I am a huge fan of lobster and my expectations are high. It was cooked to perfection, partially cracked for my convenience, and displayed with corn on the cob and a baked potato. I almost couldn’t finish it all(but I forced myself!). My little one is a very picky eater. When we order for him it is very specific and any variation will put a damper on the meal. The waitress was patient and kind and I saw her quietly double check his plate as she presented it to him. Score! We had a wedge salad before the lobster. A wedge salad is a wedge salad, but the blue cheese dressing was definitely made fresh. I hope they start to bottle it! The only opportunity that I suggested to the waitress, is switch to Coke products! Overall, a great experience. I look forward to going back without the kids!

Food was great, but waitress was so annoyed that we came in 30 minutes before the kitchen closed on a Friday night.(Out-of-town guests… sorry.) She rushed us through the entire dinner. I told her I had a gluten allergy and it was in one ear and out the other. She didn’t bother to let me know what was gluten free when my table ordered a bunch of sides. I’ve been at restaurants where they take allergies very seriously and I got the impression our server was more interested in going home. Won’t return.

I was visiting Easton, MD for a week and I heard this restaurant was one of the best local eateries in Easton. I may have had really high expectations. I had a cheeseburger with cheddar cheese cooked well done. The burger was ok but it wasn’t anything to brag about. I had better burgers at five guys. It’s a really nice ambiance though.

4.5 stars. Crabcake sandwich was very tasty; others in my party raved about the tuna. Beer selection looked extensive — will have to try next time, but the fume blanc we got was on point. Will definitely be back!
