Great family-owned store. Good selection, kind people.

Awesomely helpful staff! My husband owns a fleet of boats and is often in need of last minute parts for unexpected repairs. This means that every now and then I am chasing around marine parts to assist him and the staff at Eastham Ace Hardware is fantastic. It is great to have a real person answer the phone and they are always prompt on letting me know what is in stock. Today was a particularly 5-star experience as I arrived at their store in dire need of 5200 at 2:02pm, noting the closed sign for 2pm. I was crushed until a smiling face unlocked the door and let me in to purchase this item — THANKYOU Eastham Ace!

My family rented a house last week in Eastham, MA. I was cleaning bugs out of the pool at the rental and«POW» the plastic piece on the Pool Skimmer cracked… Since I knew there were new people coming to rent in a few days, I felt that I should replace the Skimmer if possible. I went to this Ace Hardware hoping I could just buy a new one… They were out! But… The manager/Owner? had a solution to buy 2 clamps that would hold the net part to the pole part… BAM! Cheap repair! He even attached it for me in the store.

Yikes. I’ve been watching the advertising blitz on TV lately, extolling Ace Hardware as the«helpful home place». Just like your next door neighbor, but with stuff you buy, not borrow, and never return. Not in Eastham, at least not for me. I stopped in on my way by this morning — first time in the store — to grab a can of primer to paint out a paint stain on my ceiling. No one greeted me, no one asked if they could help me find anything as I stared blankly at cans of paint & primer. No one was asking anyone else if they needed help, although the three people standing behind the counter were engaged in some conversation with guys they seemed to know well, which leads me to think if you’re a local painter and spend $$$ here then you’ll be welcomed, otherwise good luck! I brought my can of Zinsser up to the counter with a couple of brushes and a little roller, and waited for one of the three — such as the guy I was standing in front of, to maybe acknowledge me, but no such luck! I stood there for a minute and waited him out while everyone chatted then he finally totaled everything up. Paid about $ 4 more than I would have at Lowe’s off Cape. Fine, it was convenient to go here . My favorite part of the whole customer service-less experience? Once I paid, everything still sat on the counter so I began gathering things up and dropping them in my tote bag. I got the fish-eye, with the remark, «you don’t want a bag for that, right?» Right, no bag, also no interest about losing a new customer, no thank you, no see you later, nada. Thanks Ace, un-helpful hardware place. First time here, and definitely LAST time here! If you like my review, please — click and let me know!
